They aren't demigods. They are Gods. Demigod=Half God, Half Mortal.
valid, i am going off of what other people i have seen have called them, but that doesn't make my point about the card any less valid. People see devotion 7 and get scared, not realizing it's REALLY only one more devotion then the theros gods to be active.
This doesn't do anything useful. Inspired triggers when a card changes state from tapped to untapped, not just if an effect resolves which tries to untap it.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
Ephara is just meh; so the demigods get two colors in their own cost to count towards their devotion, but get the devotion requirement bumped up to 7 and only get one ability....yeah they won't see play in standard.
pain seer is not going into any competitive decks unless i'm very wrong. Maybe sb vs control but that's at best. The ability to abuse him via repeated tapping and untapping is way more complicated than it's worth, but it's cute at least. He's probably at least decent in EDH since someone's likely to be open, but he's still not great.
The archetype cycle looks to be the most interesting Enchantment creatures, functioning as both a creature and a global. I didn't even realize it was an enchantment at first.

1. Minor Gods
2. Only need one more in their devotion technically
3. We've only seen one out of ten.

Yes, going from 5 to 7 is more, but, in reality, it is a lot easier to hit then one color devotion and is, in reality, only one more devotion then what the current gods have to hit.
Think of it this way. Thassa naturally provides one devotion so u need to have 4 more blue symbols for her to be active. Ephara comes with a blue and a white meaning she only needs 5 more blue OR white symbols to be active. That's really not all that much different.
Or you run it in an aggro deck where it is a black bear with an upside.
Even in an ideal scenario it is both too slow (since you don't draw until turn 4.) and also not aggressive enough (since it is a bear with no evasion and a target on its back.)
Even tribal interactions like Xathrid Necromancer probably won't get the job done. That is the only card that might make it fringe.
Ephara and Akroan Horse anyone? It gives you a creature on their upkeep so it works as card draw on your turn and any creature you play on yours gives you card draw on their upkeep.
so, my friend and I were just talking about new bob, and we both kind of came to the same thought at once. Does he have to be tapped to be untapped. You can tap tapped things, so do you untap untapped things? inspiration doesn't say "if tapped" like most things like this would. How is the untap step "worded" do you untap all permanents, or just the tapped ones?
Pain Seer is a Dark Confidant that can attack for 2 each turn and has an extra toughness. Better for aggro, better for control. Bob is about to drop big time.
This guy is a tiny bit stronger than mr draw 2 if you have no cards in hand.
The problem is how long he takes to get online, you have to play him than swing to start getting CA. This is strictly worse than how bob works so you need to abuse his extra toughness or somehow use some untap effects to pull double duty to make him work.
I actually think he's playble because black two drops seem to suck for some reason but he won't dominate anything.

If you untap something already untapped, nothing happens
It never gets untapped as it was never tapped to begin with

Don't point out obvious interactions, they are always mediocre and unplayable. LIke Grey Merchant of Asphodel, it's totally unplayable because the deck you play it in builds itself and therefor must be extremely noob.
Sarcasm aside, this is exactly why people will play the card. It's a 2/2 for 2 mana with an upside. If it trades with a removal spell, so be it. If it trades in combat, so be it. You invest very little in either case. If it does manage to live a few turns, it's given you card parity and is working towards potential card advantage.
The worst case scenario for this card is similar to that of the worst case scenario for Voice of Resurgence when it was printed. Ya, your Voice might eat a Pillar of Flame, but if it didn't you'd likely be rewarded. Pain Seer is going to require a bit more work, but when it gets there it's going to fell strong.

Humans and Mono B Aggro have a lack of two drops. This happens to be a good one.

Unfortunately, Ephara would do nothing without Bitterblossom in that deck.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

It depends on if there are many competitive Inspiration cards.

if there are any good inspiration cards outside of new bob, i would say so.....have to wait until the rest of the set is spoiled to say for sure
