i chose sasha grey because of her matchability of aura / personality with Liliana, not on a cup size since cup size can be faked very easily.
my opinion Jenna Presley resemble more like Avacyn (with the help of Lady Gaga heavy make-up, of course).
edit: oh, i have a casting addition
Gideon Jura by Brad Pitt / Tom Hardy
Jace Beleren by Keanu Reeves / Tom Cruise
Sarkhan the Mad by Chow Yun Fat
Garruk by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson / Jason Momoa
Tibalt by Nicholas Cage
Sorin by Alexander Skarsgård
Tezzeret by Johnny Depp
I actually think Jason Momoa would make a better Tezzeret.
So, what's the best movie ever made based on a game? The first Mortal Kombat maybe? The Super Mario Brothers movie? Clue?
Clue is a phenomenal film.
I also have a bit of a thing for the Super Mario Brothers movie. It's certainly awful beyond reason, but in a sort of good way.
I would say the first Resident Evil movie was solid, and done fairly well. It was, after all, at the beginning of the zombie craze and had fairly good atmosphere at least. The rest in the franchise lie between borderline unwatchable to gouge your eyes out bad. But the first was decent enough.

Must be about Oldwalkers, or about no 'Walkers at all for me to see it.
God like beings that audiences can never relate to...no thanks.
And not having current walkers would be even stupider. The whole point of magic is that their are multiple worlds to visit and explore. Walkers would be the characters you could relate to and follow a story for regardless of where they go. Otherwise you get this great story and characters but them lose them all when you do a different movie on a different plane.
Its better to follow Elspeths story from Bant on Alara, to Mirrodin, then to Theros. Than to have three separate movies about Alara, Mirrodin and Theros with zero connectivity.

According to Clever Movies, Fox intends for it to launch a movie franchise to tap into the Fantasy market in the vein of LotR and Harry Potter. As in, big budget and epic. They have also picked a guy to produce it, one who is currently involved in other properties that they hold (specifically, the X-men franchise and the reboot of the Fantastic Four), as well as being involved with the LucasFilm/Disney Star Wars spinoffs. The guy is apparently quite talented.
As for those who are hoping for a return of Urza or a series of films based on the pre-neowalker days. Don't hold your breath, they want this to be relatable to the general fantasy crowd, not just fans of M:TG. Thus it will likely focus on neowalkers.
If against all odds they decide to bring back a previously dead oldwalker, it won't be Urza. He's gone, accept it, move on.
This doesn't make sense You want it to appeal to the general fantasy crowd over mtg fans, but then you turn around and suggest that they focus on the characters that marketing is currently pushing for MTG.
Have you actually read much SiFi/Fantasy? The older MTG stories really aren't that out there.

Right. But they also have almost nothing to do with the current MTG storylines...which is what would allow people new to the concepts to connect the movie to the game and vice versa.
how would that change with a movie about new blocks?
guys go to the cinema: "hey, that magic movie about that awesome world called innistrad was so cool, let's buy some magic card!"
buy packs: "theros? return to ravnica? what kind of places are this? what does it means innistrad is old?"
magic's storyline is very fast and every year we get a new plane, so it's hard to make a movie about "new stuff"
make a movie about urza and old phyrexia, it will be epic, it will tell new players the origin of new phyrexia, it will be the ebst way to start an awesome saga. jace and newwalkers can arrive later
It's not necessarily that the movies will be about those specific places, or even those specific stories. It's simply more likely that it'll be about the new-walker Characters. These are the characters and cards that people are more likely to see. The planeswalkers that are the face of the current game. The smart move would be to not copy an existing storyline word for word, but do something akin to what Marvel did and adapt storylines and characters to fit with current cinematic expectations and styles. That's part of what made the marvel films so successful: they weren't afraid to deviate some from the established canon and create new storylines.

The movie having to have ties to the cards that people see, and the movie being willing to do it's own thing seem to be somewhat antithetical ideas.
The reason why the people who want the movie to follow one of the novels isn't because they're obsessed with the movie being consistent with the storyline, but because they want the movie to be good, and the one kind of of movie adaption that has been proven to work well is Novel to Movie.
Gone With the Wind was based on a novel
Vertigo was based on a novel
The Great Escape was based on a novel
Jaws was based on a novel
The Maltese Falcon based on a novel
The Godfather was based on a novel
The Wizard of OZ was based on a novel
If you go down a list of the best movies of all time, you are going to get a mix of original movies and movies based on written novels.

And let's not forget, movies generally suck compared to the novel.

Right, because the characters that marketing is currently pushing cannot possibly appeal to the general fantasy crowd.
And let's not forget, movies generally suck compared to the novel.
If that were true(which it's not), that might be a convincing argument that you shouldn't make a movie at all, but as an argument about how they produce the movie, It's quite weak.
Did you mean to say that you think there's a better way to make a movie than to adapt it off of a novel?
Everyone knows that good luck and good game are such insincere terms that any man who does not connect his right hook with the offender's jaw on the very utterance of such a phrase is no man I would consider as such.

As for dream casting, I'm going old school and saying Christy Hemme for Ashnod and Trish Stratus for Kayla bin-Kroog.

The realized potential sure peaked.
