Keep in mind he's up against Elspeth, who usually...uh...loses. It's kind of her thing.
Historically true, but--given the emphasis on the Heroes' Path and player identification with Elspeth--I think she's actually going to come away on top of this one.
They have actually been giving planeswalkers character development in the past few sets, so we'll have to wait and see.
Lovely trailer. Not as good as Theros one IMHO, but still good
Art is still beautiful, Xenagos's voice fits, condensed story is shown smoothly, though people who didn't read the Planeswalker's Guide to BNG might miss the fact that the victoriuos party was the very thing that finalized Xenagos's ascension.
The only thing i really don't like about this trailer is that CGI Xenagos when he's becoming god.
That art for packaging was splendid, this here isn't really playing well with the rest of the trailer
But other than that, looks great
Oh, and a bit of speculation - I think JIN trailer will be narrated by Elspeth, with her telling us how she was cast away by people of Theros for "letting Xenagos go god", her finding Ajani (I think she planeswalked to get his help) and coming back to kick Xenagos's rear end and making Theros well again

That's almost certainly the "Atlas" of the Block.
If it is a creature, I hope it has a Child of Alara type effect.
Maybe something that grows bigger and bigger up to a certain point and is then sacrificed - and kills everything with it? The rock did grow, didn't it?
Anyone else hear the sub voice while xenagos is talking. i played it back a few times and have came up with this "At least the battle for now. A victory i'll take for my self, my place, in the sky, here and now. Everything "Heria?" is burning" couldn't get that middle part sounded like air but to long.
The Sub voice just pre-peats or repeats what Xenagos says during the trailer. It's just reverb put on the voice.
at the end of the trailer,
Xenagos said something like this "and rule at the Nyx, ALONE!!!"
since english is not my mother language i can't be sure, can you guys please confirm this ?
Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
First half is good but the animation for Elspeth moment and Xenagos on the mountain is awful, much less quality then in previous trailer. Still good though.
Quite a bit more than just Mogis. Just off the top of my head, Thassa is known for turning innocent people into eels. Heliod loves to come up with creative punishments to torture people he doesn't like. Purphorous indiscriminately rains fire and death on people. Phenax was stated in this very trailer to enjoy torturing people.
If not for the fact that he too seems to enjoy abusing his power, Xenagos would absolutely be in the right here. Previous sets have let the "bad guy" win because they put on a nice face (Avacyn Restored, Dragon's Maze as examples), so I imagine Elspeth will be fine with the status quo of evil, capricious gods.
He said: May the fates aid any who venture into the night... alone!
I checked the subs of the German version. Apparently Xenagos is refferring to Elspeth when he says this beats me why though.
Russian version approximately says "The darkness approaches. May the fates aid anyone who [like Elspeth] ventures into the night... alone". In previous subs stuff in [] denoted the "back vocal" chorus.
And I would like to hear what else Xenagos plans to do with that power and adoration if not meddle in mortals' business. Stop meddling, let's go partying? Plus, "they meddle, and that's bad" message doesn't work well with the fact that 50% of mentioned gods are actually trying to help.
I like the voice actor they got for Xenagos, and quite frankly, I think dude has a point: The gods of Theros are posers, they aren't gods at all and they do petty things with what powers they have. Xenagos is inherently more special as a walker, has seen their lies, and is using his own mortal cunning and power to become more than he was.
How can you not be rooting for this guy?
I am not "rooting for" Xenagos because, while he may have a valid argument against the gods, he is not exactly a hero or patron of good moral values, as are Elspeth or Gideon (exemplars of the "knight in shining armor" archetype), and he is causing major havoc and mayhem across the plane of Theros. In my mind, he is a hypocrite, committing the same sins of which he is accusing the gods of committing. Perhaps is Xenagos was actually interested in the greater good of Theros and its people, then I could sympathize with and support him.

what happened to the previous RG god that xenagos is trying to be?
There wasn't any. Creatures aligned with RG on Theros (such as satyrs) have been stated to not have much appreciation towards religion.

He saw some play early on in Wur devotion control. That deck hasn't stayed around, but Heliod was a part of a tier 2-3 deck for a while.
What 0:31 is everyone else looking at? My 0:31 looks like art for the rumored "strictly better infest"
I'm loving the art at 0:30. Some kind of -X/-X effect perhaps?

My guess is that's the Theros version of Chiron. That art will probably be on a G/W card.
unless if the crow calling god is UB..... which would be cool.....
Now that I see it I am thinking it might be a reprint of Dead Weight, but I still hope it is a creature.. I get some Atlas vibes from the guy

Enchanted creature gets -2/-2
At the beginning of your upkeep, put two +1/+1 counters on enchanted creature and sacrifice XXX
I could see something like that, but for what colour? Artwork looks either white or black, perhaps blue due to the masks
.. still hoping for a creature

Basically this. He is a whiny child who is gaining godlike strength. At least the other gods understand the order of things.
Xenagos is a planeswalker, so...

Lazav is of course a shapeshifter so he could be a planeswalker secretly for all we know.
...and in Avacyn Restored, we had Thalia narrating for half of the trailer
