Being a cheap Aura and a tap effect, this enables both Inspired and Heroic in drafts, making it a very flexible little spell to pick up. In practice, it works very similarly to Witch's Eye (which will incidentally probably see more play with Inspired now).
I've always been optimistic about a card's constructed applications. I feel like this current standard is lacking red enablers for discard; beyond Izzet Charm and Academy Raiders there is nothing. Epiphany Storm seems very unsavory in a vacuum, but it fills a few roles. Enables Heroic, discard strategies, and Inspired, if there exists a good enough target for it that is. All that being said it's likely not a Constructed card at all, but with the right supporting cast it might have a small shot -- reanimator is always looking for enablers.
I think it's a fine limited pick given how sparse good removal was in Theros, and it has great synergy with Inspired cards.
With that name though, I was really hoping for the UR Mythic
I know. I sat up really straight, raised my eyebrows and....... quickly slumped in my chair. Such an awesome name, and awesome art. I was hoping for a UR version of Sphinx's Revelation or something awesome for a Young Pyromancer deck. Oh, how those hopes die hard. So hard.
*sigh* On the bright side I know what I'm getting signed if Clint Cearley comes around.
I think sometimes people don't put enough importance on the difference between discard -> draw versus draw -> discard. The first is vastly inferior to the second.
Thanks for posting this. I like the card art better than the pre-release art by far.
As for Epiphany Storm, I like it. I think it'll do good work in a block cube and in actual limited play. And in casual constructed, you can get away with some not quite great enchantments.
Decent Inspiration enabler for Limited. It also has pseudo-cycling, which raises the bar on its playability. Not an amazing card, by any means, but Limited filler cards rarely are.
This is odd in that I can't see any reason why a limited player would want this but at the same time there's an angle or two that I can see that might make it playable in constructed. I think it depends on if it can support a combo shell. The fact that it's an aura may give it added usability and it's actually not such a bad thing to have on a sylvan caryatid.
I don't particularly like this card but any time a Red card is printed with any text other than "swing with this creature to damage a thing" I am happy. Just because Red is impulsive does not mean it isn't intelligent.
It is a strange preview card due to how bad it is. There are so many downsides to this card. Any upsides are speculative until we see more Inspiration. I can't imagine any that would turn this awful card into something playable.
I just wish it had a bigger effect, because I like the name and artwork of Epiphany Storm a lot!

I agree with the others. How exactly is this a "Storm".

Use it with the Sun Guide to gain 2 life and a card every turn.
Could also potentially be really good in Gruul, possibly with Pyrewild Shama (though that'll get expensive, at least it's a card you can get back).
MIGHT work in Izzet using Chandra's Phoenix as fodder, provided you're running Ral Zarek or something to proc the phoenix.

Might be worth a pick in limited if I have some relevant Inspired creatures that don't really want to attack.
