How about just stuffing Purphoros, Nylea and the RG god in a deck with Rubblebelt Raiders (who turns the RG god on and almost turns P. and N. on by ITSELF) then go to town with indestructible creatures. Add BTE and Planeswalker Xenagos to help the Raiders grow and give more devotion. Yeah, that could work.
I wouldn't be surprised if they keep the large size, since they only get one ability. I mean really, the gods are super huge. They're towering over mountains. Besides, Awaken the Ancient says a 7/7 for 4 isn't a huge deal in constructed when it gets chumped all day.
My fingers are still crossed for hybrid cards in BNG...(Much more likely if cards like Boros Reckoner won't count for 6 devotion - will have to see exactly how it's worded).
I'm honestly not that excited about the Gods in Theros
I like the flavour and the mechanics but that's a lot of hoop-jumping
I expect Xenagos to be constructed worthy since he's the face the set (yeah Avacyn wasn't but she's an angel so that's a bit different) and maybe one other one but that's it.
I don't really care about "regular" constructed though so I don't mind it, I'm sure they'll all be good in EDH and Limited which are the only formats that I care about
The procedure is probably as usual: count the colored mana symbols and ask the question: "Is this a blue or white mana symbol?" -> hybrid (U/W) gives a yes. So you count it as +1 for a general "devotion for white and blue" total.
It probably is worded as "devotion for X and Y greater than 7", not "devotion for X plus devotion for Y greater than 7".
This is simply wrong when you look at boros reckoner for example. What is my devotion to white? 3. What is my devotion to red? 3. What is 3 + 3? 6. It's more complicated to do it any other way.

Honestly I'm surprised that they'd go this way. I'd assume it would be or instead (if your devotion to white or blue is 5). This opens up weirdities with how hybrid mana works. Switching it to both only requires slightly more devotion and it's easier to achieve (5 additional devotion instead of 4).

It isn't because he only costs 3cmc. That's 3 mana of any combination of R or W you prefer. Think about it, Reckoner doesn't cost 3 white and 3 red when he comes down. It's an either>or type of situation. For example if I ran a WB deck I could use him for all white. Or if I ran a WR deck I could use him for 2 red and 1 white... I guarantee they aren't going to make specter and reckoner 6 devotion.
"If fetch lands are reprinted I really believe they will be in allied colors (aka Onslaught fetches). If the fetch lands are reprinted you better believe that we'll all be fetching up basics. This would lead me to believe that the set after THS may have a reprint as the temples can't be fetched but it's pure speculation." - posted 03/22/2014 proved correct during Khans spoiler season.
"The set releases for fall 2015 (Blood, Sweat and Tears) and fall 2016 (Lock, Stock and Barrel). One or both of those 2 blocks (I'm betting) are going to contain either Fetch reprints or (more likely) Filter reprints. Filter lands still need a reprint. They are getting pretty high up there and it's been longer than ZEN so it makes a little more sense that Filter lands would see print earlier that fetches." - posted 03/22/2014 proved incorrect about filters coming earlier than fetches, still pending on filters in Origins block.

The difference being that Awaken the Ancient dies to most removal in Standard and costs you a land when it does.
The gods are a lot harder to get rid of, and doesn't give inherent card disadvantage.
Killing the hybrid dude turns off the creature, so you're left with a possibly useless enchantment, though. We don't know what their abilities are. They'd be rather strange to be Grizzly Bears towering over mountains, too.
Who's talking about cmc? All these minor gods care about is devotion, baby.
This. Devotion doesn't care about CMC, it cares about mana symbols. Hybrid mana symbols are both colors. Think about it this way: count how many Ws you see on Boros Reckoner, then count how many Rs you see. Then tell me the total number of mana symbols you counted.
People need to consider what makes the most sense in this situation. Wizards plots out sets years in advance, yeah? So, would it be more reasonable for them to tone down the power of the lesser gods, knowing that the hybrid cards (Reckoner and Specter) will also be in the format, or would it make more sense for them to create a situation that requires them to alter/change the rules or issue errata? I think that if it is the latter case, which is the less probable of the two, that they would have changed the rules well in advance of the set's release (as they did with the change to the legendary rule).
I hope that this is fake. I want the minor gods to have activated abilities.
I think this only is really a spoiler for which Gods will be in BNG, not what they do, if I remember TK's post on the first page correctly.
Still, it's nice to get some confirmation on which of the Gods to expect and their color combinations, even most of this was already expected through speculation.
EDIT: Ah, I see, the OP said as much. I guess we'll see
Momir Vig, Simic Visionary
Melek, Izzet Paragon
Oona, Queen of the Fae
Bruna, Light of Alabaster
Gisela, Blade of Goldnight
Rhys the Redeemed
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
Sen Triplets
The Mimeoplasm WUBRGSliver OverlordGRBUW WUBRGSliver Hivelord(Superfriends)GRBUW
Ephara, God of Something2WU
Legendary Enchantment Creature- God [M]
Indestructible
As long as your devotion to white and blue is less than seven, Ephara isn't a creature (Each W and U in the mana costs of permanents you control counts toward your devotion to white and blue).
Whenever you cast a spell that is white or blue, other creatures you control gain lifelink and flying until end of turn.
5/6
Phenax, God of Something3UB
Legendary Enchantment Creature- God [M]
Indestructible
As long as your devotion to blue and black is less than seven, Ephara isn't a creature (Each U and B in the mana costs of permanents you control counts toward your devotion to blue and black).
At the beginning of your upkeep you draw a card and each opponent loses 1 life.
4/5
I would SO play UBR or UB (supposedly printing a "strictly better infest" ) control then.

The red warning in the OP makes it sound like Wizards and the Rumor Mill moderators are slowly becoming one and the same. Seriously.... information is not "confirmed" until Wizards says so, or the moderators and their "official sources" deem it so? Yikes. This forum is really changing quickly and not for the better.
As for the info, I don't know what a Karametra is, but I'm interested to find out!

Um, what? I don't get it either. It's clear that they write this because they want to establish where on the 'rumor scale' this is. Usually, certified false information is deleted, so by leaving it, they feel a need to also inform about how seriously they feel we should take it. The words "there is a chance it is incorrect" sum it all up.
Seems like someone was in a bit too much of a hurry to be critical about the forum and misread what was written. Also, I have no idea how you can not know who Karametra is or deduce it from the original post...
