I really don't like the inclusion of the deck box, sleeves, and other non-essential swag. The point of a product like this is to give players an easier way of getting involved in playing Modern; why, then, would you throw in a bunch of unneeded stuff and, subsequently, have to raise the price tag, making the product that much less accessible? We don't know any of the cards in the deck yet, but no matter what value they have, the MSRP of the deck would be lower if they didn't put in the extra goodies. Those make sense in a product like Commander's Arsenal, a collector's item, but it's self-defeating to do so in a product made as an entry point.
I have a feeling that this is going to be a value bomb. After the popularity of Modern Masters, and the outrage of it being so limited, they are probably going drastically increase the print run for these event decks. I mean, what do they have to lose? I haven't heard many, if any, complaints about Modern Masters devaluing certain cards. They tested the waters, and now they are ready to open the gates.
I'm not expecting 4x Goyf or anything like that, but don't be surprised to see decks with 1-4 fetches in them, some shocks, and some staples like Path, Finks, Remand, etc. Over the next few years, I'm expecting them to flood the market with fetches, possibly even the Onslaught fetches. They want people buying these cards, and they want people to play Modern.
The real question is what will the deck/decks be? Will there be more than one (it doesn't say there will be, but just one seems odd). Possibly there will be a new Modern Event deck printed each year. Either way, I'm looking forward to this, and I expect whatever it is to hold lots of goodies worth somewhere in the realm of $75-$100.
There is a very high chance that these contain fetchland reprints, in which case they would be potentially sought after by players of multiple formats. Fetchlands are the core of almost all Modern manabases, at least of the decently competitive decks, so I'd bank on their inclusion. Unfortunately, that would probably drive prices up just because they were part of the product; the Jund event deck alone would vendor for well over $150 with even a super budget version.
Edit: I forgot Tron variants. Wurmcoil Engine does two different tokens. Actually double-faced Wurm tokens would be sweet.
Double-Edit: For those that are 100% sure the decks will be marked up like crazy, here is a topic from a time ago about what sort of budget decks you can do in modern. All under 100 euros, which means if market up, it wouldn't be by so much.
Wizards has really reached the point of just printing money. They get to justify 75 pieces of cardboard for a msrp of 75$ that would cost maybe 20$ for the same amount in normal packs. I'm not complaining, I'm sure it will have the value to the person buying it but holy crap. Business is good for them right now.
Maybe it will be something along the lines of mono red or mono white soul sisters.
No. Just... no.
The mono-R thing was already done in something like this with Fire & Lightning,
and while they *can* put fetches in mono decks, it would just feel really odd.

We really can't know how scarce or pricey these will be until we know how much WotC is printing. Hopefully MaRo or someone else will tell us, but I wouldn't count on it.
Do we know if these will be available at retailers like walmart/target? If not it would have to be an absolutely massive print run for these to not get marked up.
HFS!
I can't believe I've been playing since FA but somehow missed this card!
Sorry for the OT, but thanks for pointing this out- it's like a flavor speedball.
As for on-topic,
the fact this has its own expansion symbol
tells me this may have some very pricey cards in them which they want to clearly mark as reprints.
Again, I pray they learned this needs to be in Big Box stores
(with only one deck it won't have Mind Seize issues).

If they're like the current event decks, then they won't. If the print run is similar to the current event decks, though, it wouldn't make too much sense to mark them up much.

I highly doubt any big box store would touch these at that SRP, especially considering that a lot of stores (at least the ones I've worked at) tend to have issues with theft in their trading cards, and I can't imagine any of them would want this high dollar of an item in a high shrink area.
No, I have a feeling these are going to be exclusive to hobby shops, besides, if they aren't carried at big box than its a lot easier for stores to mark them up.

It's releasing before M15, so it might not even have the new frame.
I guess we'll see in a few months.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Seems cool to me...
It's a bit weird they have their own expansion symbol-
Won't the cards be obvious from the new border?
Also, I hope to god these are sold at Target like the other ones were...

Well there's a bit of a hint. I don't play modern, so any ideas of some possible inclusions based on this?
there's a game store here that has these premier products but people exclusively play yu-gi-oh...muahahaha
Same here. I'd like to actually be able to afford this as a birthday present for myself

Right, well a spirit token is almost guaranteed with how much Lingering Souls sees play. But a deck that also has another token in it... it might be W/B tokens (Soldier from Raise the Alarm and/or Elspeth, Knight-Errant, or vampire from Sorin, Lord of Inistrad (it's a cheep deck too)), or some sort of control deck running Blade Splicer, though not as likely. I guess it could also be Splinter Twin, with a Deciever Exarch and Pestermite token^^

I would personally prefer Splinter Twin or Fae, but I don't expect either as they are too "unfun"

It'd be funny if the two decks were exactly the same archetypes as the first two Standard Event Decks (RDW and Infect).

It already appears to be at a vastly inflated price! $75? Egad.
I am so in favor of Modern event decks, but that price is very prohibitive.
I'd love to see a Modern Game Day as well.
