Except we also have a picture of Xenagoas ascending to godhood...
I was thinking we'd get all five allied colored gods this set and then the enemy colored gods next set, though the Iroas picture does kind of make that questionable.
The other thing is, the name "Mogis, God of Violence" seems questionable.
I was listing Xenagos for JOU on the assumption that he wouldn't reach his final "God" state in BNG.
But yeah Allied colours is possible.
Duke Daemon: Yeah that was my reasoning as well the UG minor god will not be in the same set as Kiora.

That was the other thing. Are we sure that pic with elspesth and ajani is for sure xenagos? Is there a chance that actually is Mogis?

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?

Does the community really think it'll be possible to have Xenagos, the Reveler and "Xenagos, God of Red and Green" in play at the same time? I don't think a legend has ever has two versions in one block...
Even Kamahl and Kamahl were in Odyssey and Onslaught respectively.
I honestly don't see it happening. I think Xenagos will be a God for story only, and strictly a Walker for gaming purposes.
Edit: I'll call myself out; Balthor the Stout in Torment was followed by Balthor the Defiled in Judgement, which did not know were in the same block until about 10 seconds ago. Even so, this was done long ago and only once; chances of a repeat? Slim, in my opinion.

Somebody asked MaRo about this, and he just conceded that it was a flavor fail. While it's possible that Rapid Hybridization merely slipped under the radar, I think it's more likely that it doesn't exile for power level reasons. Exiling the creature for U would put it in Path to Exile territory, even with the drawback.
Interesting.
If that Enchantment Volrath's Stronghold really is finally real,
I will **** myself in ecstasy.
However, costing only colorless and returning it directly to your hand sounds almost too good to be true...
That good sir... makes two of us.
Although I would not doubt what so ever they will do the card, but make it so you sacrifice it. I think even if they make it similar to Academy Ruins it would be too good, esp for standard. I mean with the gods? It might be a bit much.
Any idea if we will be getting more God's in this set? Or any Legendary Enchantment Creature cards?
I'm really hoping to see a nice Commander for a Enchantment theme deck but its probably a long shot. Possible! But probably not.
I really hope the Black DoJ is a Damnation reprint. A new card without the regeneration clause really wouldn't do much for Modern, which is the only format I play. I don't follow Standard very closely, but I don't think Damnation hosing regeneration would make a big difference, would it?
True the black DoJ wouldn't be great for modern, but I think it would be a more EDH oriented card despite the effects it may have Standard.
I'm hoping its called Wrath of Erebos (or Mogis maybe?), because I've never gotten out of the habit of saying "I Wrath" when I play a sweeper.

Into the Maw of Hell is a name so awesome, it deserves its own song.
It would be about a world of brown spikes and red fire, where men fight and scream and become blurry masses. Then it would change to somber, we learn that this glorious place exists only in Raymond Swanland's head. To visit it, you must enter the maw of Hell itself.
There are a finite number of mythics per set. 15 in theros and we had GR, RB, WU, UB & WB. We know we are getting Kiora next set UG, so I doubt we will get another UG mythic next set.
BOG is a smaller set so I doubt we will get the same number of mythics as theros. We will get 5 minor gods, kiora, maybe ajani and maybe another 3 mythics.
We won't see ajani in BOG. Mark Rosewater said, on the subject of multiple walkers in BOG, "Nope, just Kiora."
Pretty much anyone outside of Jace could be RG for the next RG walker. Sarkhan could go back to his roots, we could get a four-ability Domri, The Fight Sculptor, maybe Koth could take up gardening, even Ral Zarek could become a hippie after smoking some dank Golgari rotweeds.
Great, more power mad judges tripping out over inconsequential nonsense. Please, measure my lands again with a protractor to make sure I tapped them exactly 90 degrees. No fancy electronic playmats? What is this, 1995?

You know I've considered that maybe this is a red herring, The usual story arc is that the villain tries for godhood and the plucky band of heroes intervenes and then one of the heroes is rewarded with godhood having earned the honour through bravery and sacrifice.
My only real roadblock is that we haven't really seen a suitable hero to become a RG god.
I could only dream that the Minotaur would be real. I want to build a Theros Minotaur tribal so bad.
Sorry I called firsties on this! LOL.

**** this site. I'd delete this account but that doesn't seem to be an option. The mods here are ******* useless ********s who ban people for simple ass normal words. **** them and **** this site.
- 9/9 kraken sounds boring (see the big bug from gatecrash), duplicating sounds unflavorful, it probably has hex proof or something if its mythic
- Minotaur sounds good to me, will probably cost 6 mana if it exists
-Land sounds too good to be true
- black doj is exactly what the meta needs to shut down all these crappy boring creature decks
I just want more black life gain now
Play U/W control and Supreme Verdict if you want that right now. Black does NOT need a sweeper in Standard right now. Hell you can wipe most creatures with a Ratchet Bomb or play a janky G/B/X deck with Gaze of Granite.
I mean it's not like creatures are out of control. We need good spells, but I'm not sure Damnation is the answer. Not to mention black mages would get to play with that AND Thoughtseize for two years. Yea I have a hard time believing it.
So, Mogis? I mean, I'm, amongst others, fairly certain that both Xenagos and Iroas are in BNG (both their spoiled arts fit the god composition). Xenagos ascending in BNG fulfils the second act twist, leaving Journey into Nyx to fulfil a deicide storyline (I speculate). Anyway, bit of a weird god colour balance, no, with 3 red gods in BNG? I assume Karametra's in too due to Ajani in the third set (speculatively GW), and the curious Ashen Rider-shaped space replacing a GW mythic in the allied gold mythics in Theros.
Rapid Hybridization is just a followup of cards like:
While it would be hilarious to see Domri, God of Destruction, I sincerely doubt that it would ever happen and would open so many plot questions it's not even funny. However, I am currently 0-1 in regards to BNG speculation, so take that for how you will

The next "Return" block will be Return to Lorwyn/Shadowmoor. -Calling it on 07 Dec 2013
I'm a little annoyed at the bit being on Rapid Hybridization though. This was a good opportunity to print an "improved" version of Pongify with their new philosophy, but WotC decided to leave it in. I'm trying hard not to sound like "blue gets everything good" but it's not like Incinerate was too powerful for Standard.
Yes, "can't be regenerated" isn't the norm anymore, but it still exists in small quantities. Wizards could easily allow a Damnation reprint to occur as one of the few removal spells with "can't be regenerated" on it.
Is there actually any serious doubts that the RG God is Xenagos? I mean, he's plastered all over the BNG and JOU promo art. There's no way he wouldn't find his way onto a card as a God.

I still have some doubts, if only because I think that's a major step down in terms of overall power for a character on a card.
