But the kraken sounded plausible to me; doesn't Kiora make 9/9 tokens? I guess they can use the tokens for this card too, right?
There is nothing to go by except hunches and gut-feelings, but to me this is the least believable card. Kiora's 9/9 Kraken tokens are special and exciting; I would think that they would want to keep them unique to Kiora, at least in her debut set.
I feel like Ponfify would be too good if it lacked the no regeneration clause, almost no downside, and plenty of upside in the right deck.
You can still abuse with Thassa since she is indestructible giving you basically a 3/3 for a single mana.
Good thing that have fixed the wording with Curse of the Swine. Makes much more sense with that wording anyway.
I would be very surprised if Mogis was in Born of the Gods, since we already have BNG promotional art depicting Iroas and Xenagos. If Mogis is included then the five minor gods in the set could not be color-balanced, which is possible but doesn't seem particularly likely.
Why would the event be battle the horde if Mogis wasn't in this set?
Did we have confirmation that the Iroas art was indeed the art they'd be using for his card? Could have a cycle of cards referencing the minor gods coming in set 3.
Pongify destroys any creature and the draw back is it gives them a 3/3. Your saying if we made pongify without the regen clause, it would make it better? No pongify/rabid hybridisation are perfectly fine the way they are now and don't need to be changed.
He's saying if you Pognify your own creature that has regen, you get to keep both. You've basically made a 3/3 for 1 plus whatever the regen cost is.
I'm a little annoyed at the bit being on Rapid Hybridization though. This was a good opportunity to print an "improved" version of Pongify with their new philosophy, but WotC decided to leave it in. I'm trying hard not to sound like "blue gets everything good" but it's not like Incinerate was too powerful for Standard.
The issue with taking out the regen clause is that it would ruin the flavor of the card. the point of the card is that it's turning one creature into something else. if the creature could be regenerated that would ruin the flavor of the card. you can't regenerate something that's not dying. don't get me wrong i know what the card says, but this one's about flavor, as well as the possibility of it being overpowered.
I swear I first read it as Wingbonger...something tells me that "As Long as Wingbonger is paired with another creature, both creatures have weed." wouldn't be as good. Seems solid for limited.
There's as much proof of Iroas being in BNG as there is Keranos, since they have both been spoiled in artwork (check official compilation of info thread's second post, blue guy throwing lightning).
I have a hard time believing Black would get a sweeper in this set, though it is entirely possible. The other info seems reasonable enough to believe even if the Kraken seems too copy & pasted from Kiora.

The Keranos art puts Keranos in the background, with the foreground focus being the impact of the bolt of lightning, implying that this is an instant or sorcery. Iroas and Xenagos, however, are depicted as central figures in a static pose, just like the five gods in Theros.

The art could easily be cropped to just show Keranos, who takes up more than half the picture already.

You don't need to see any more of the uncropped picture to see what the general composition of the image is, with a big splashy lightning bolt striking the ground way in the foreground and Keranos comparatively small and towards the back, totally unlike any of the other known God artwork, which show them clearly front and center and dominating the focus of the image.
Given Damnation's conspicuous absence from Modern Masters, it shouldn't surprise anyone to see it in a different set. (See: Thoughtseize, Mutavault.) The DoJ equivalent is also bound to happen eventually. One of the two has to come first, and it could have gone either way, really.
Personally, if I were in R&D, I'd probably argue for the straight reprint. Damnation needs more copies in circulation. Pushing it to Theros block frees up a rare slot in Modern Masters, and the version without the regeneration clause fits better in a core set down the line because it's cleaner and simpler. I'd certainly understand if they went the other way, though.
as a said I think we are guaranteed to get Mogis + the UW and GW minor gods in BNG with the other 2 matching scry lands already available.
So basically BG and UR minor gods are definitely out.
I think GR and UG are unlikely, Iroas (WR) seems to be fairly locked in. Which Leaves either WB or BU, I think BU is the most likely at this time.
Except we also have a picture of Xenagoas ascending to godhood...
I was thinking we'd get all five allied colored gods this set and then the enemy colored gods next set, though the Iroas picture does kind of make that questionable.
The other thing is, the name "Mogis, God of Violence" seems questionable.

The Kraken might be scary with Bident if it's constructed playable, but it will probably be 6+ CMC if it's a Kraken... Black sweeper was bound to happen, but I'm not sure if I think mono black needed another powerful tool right now.
The cards look plausable. Almost too plausable, there are almost no surprises here, a scry reprint, a known god and something that uses Kiora's token seems a bit too on-rails. The random discard seems almost too weird to be fake though, when was the last time we saw random discard? If it's real, I don't think it will be costed to be constructed playable.
Edit: If the minotaur is real, my money is on the discard being tacked on as a monstrosity ability, so that opponents can see it coming from miles away and get a chance to remove it before it occurs.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

I doubt that they would make a big deal of art depicting the god if it isn't the art for the god's actual card.
