So I was at my local TCG store earlier, and everyone was talking about this rumor that they had heard about a few cards that were apparently said to be in Born of the Gods. I am unsure of how credible the source is, but apparently they had found the names of a couple of cards and a few other things about them. It was on a thrown out print sheet from Wizards; like the checklists you get in the Fat Packs. By no means do I know if it's true, but it sounds pretty believable. This is the information they had gathered.
- A legendary blue Kraken that makes a 9/9 Kraken when it deals combat damage to a player. The name was not given.
- A legendary minotaur that makes an opponent discard two cards at random.
- A legendary land that taps for colorless and can pay two mana of any color to return an enchantment from your graveyard to your hand (or top of library?) I think this was rare.
Once again, I do not know the credibility of the source, but everyone was talking about the papers. I was wondering if anyone else had heard anything about these? If anyone could let me know, feel free to discuss! Thanks
Mod Edit: A source of TK-421's has stated that:
There is a legendary Kraken, but it doesn't make more Krakens.
There isn't a legendary Minotaur.
Ferocious Charge isn't in.
Mogis is the God of Slaughter
There is a black boardwipe, and it's "strictly better than Infest".
The land isn't in.
I'd be surprised because all of those cards are dope as hell.
Edit: The land would go a long way in explaining why the remaining 5 scrylands got broken into two groups, ferocious charge makes sense to be put in this block, and Mogis is a card that's coming eventually at least. It's plausible, but black will be absolutely obscene if they get a day of judgement and if that minotaur is monoblack.

Interesting.
If that Enchantment Volrath's Stronghold really is finally real,
I will **** myself in ecstasy.
However, costing only colorless and returning it directly to your hand sounds almost too good to be true...
The Black DoJ is also most intriguing to me, as it might singlehandedly enable BUG control.
The Kraken is cute, but seems like it will probably be worse than Giant Adephage.
At least it'll be another source for Kiora's token!

an enchantment Buried Ruin is very plausible and something people have been speculating about.
The kraken thing is also plausible, and is something anybody can make up after having seen Kiora.
Everybody's been itching for a Damnation reprint and many have said that it will just be a DoJ in black (so Damnation without the regen clause).
We all know Mogis will be a card at some point.
The Hymn to Tourach on a body seems too good to be true - they don't like random very much anymore.
I think these are all things that are easy to make up and even though 1 or 2 may actually hit (especially the enchantment Buried Ruin), I'm calling BS (not on the original poster, just the information).
Damnation is a Black Wrath of God, which isnt precisely a Day of Judgment. WOTC is against the "cant be regenerated" clause, so I guess a variant of Damnation is more likely.
I was upset when I saw the new Kiora and realized I couldn't play BUG because white offers Sphinx and Verdict. But now everything might be awesome again!
I can't see them making something like Buried Ruin Legendary- what would be the point?
On the other hand, Enchantment AR with colorless activation may be too good.
I really hope it's repeatable-

An actual Damnation reprint would be extremely dodgy in the current standard. Granted, it makes flavor sense, but I have a hard time believing that development would be okay with that and Thoughtseize at the same time for two years.
Seems to me that this could be real, but there was probably a lot of paraphrasing going on. I'd love to see that minotaur in standard and Ferocious Charge in limited.
It pretty much has to be, as there's almost no real upside to the no-regen clause in current Standard and Damnation is a card sorely in need of reprinting.
Well if that black Day of Judgement is real then I will be a really happy man along with all Mono-black players out there.
Also interested about that Minotaur since that effect is really powerful. If this thing is not extremely expensive like Hythonia the Cruel than you can bet that a black winter/summer is incoming.
Not that I would complain about it:D

I assumed the Theros land is like Academy Ruins except doesn't require a colored mana to use, since enchantments are good in all five colors for this block. I assume it puts it on top of your library like Academy Ruins too.
I wish I could give a more credible source, but I figured it was worth discussing it at least. Has anyone else heard of these? They seem fairly believable. I'm excited if this information is somewhat accurate.
Actually, I think "when Minotaur becomes monstrous, target player discards two cards at random" is very believable. Would keep it from being overpowered.
I am also curious as to how a "thrown out print sheet from Wizards" has travelled to an Aussie gaming store..
I'm a little annoyed at the bit being on Rapid Hybridization though. This was a good opportunity to print an "improved" version of Pongify with their new philosophy, but WotC decided to leave it in. I'm trying hard not to sound like "blue gets everything good" but it's not like Incinerate was too powerful for Standard.
Basically, if you want to open packs to get cards for Standard and Modern, the simpler approach is to just buy all the singles you need and then set some money on fire to make up the difference.

I don't live in Australia haha that's just my heritage. Proud Aussie. But the kraken sounded plausible to me; doesn't Kiora make 9/9 tokens? I guess they can use the tokens for this card too, right?
Interesting.

An enchantment Volrath's Stronghold is probably jank for constructed. It'll be nuts in limited and casual commander, though.
I would be very surprised if Mogis was in Born of the Gods, since we already have BNG promotional art depicting Iroas and Xenagos. If Mogis is included then the five minor gods in the set could not be color-balanced, which is possible but doesn't seem particularly likely.
Id love an academy ruins for enchantments, tho I always figured it'd be white activation.
And a black doj would make me so happy, damnation is damn hard to find around here (amusingly enough its easier to get ahold of the textless foil) and black can always use another cheap sweep.
Tho then id have to buy into black standard tis dark days, dark days of judgement indeed.
Tho to maintain my sanity I'm going to be pessimistic and say these are bovine fecal matter so this way if they turn out to be true I can be pleasantly surprised.
Edit: @luminum: I don't think we'll see xenagos as a god card until journey but with koira as the u/g mythic spot you can't balance out iroas and mogis without having kruphix.
