I think 4 versions of any one planeswalker is enough.
We have 4 Jaces, 4 Chandras, 4 Garruks, 2 Lilianas, 3(soon to be 4) Ajanis, 3 Elspeths, 2 Sorins, 2 Gideons, and 2 Tezzerets.
At this point, I'd rather see them reprint a version of Garruk instead of making yet another version of him. Or better yet, introduce 5 new planeswalkers.
EDIT: 3 Lilianas
There is a couple reasons they need to keep making new versions of old planeswalkers.
The first is game play. Having multiple walkers with the same name let's the legendary rule keep Superfriends in check.
The second is storyline. Creative already has a hard enough time wrangling it's current cast and trying to keep each character relevant.
They will make new version of old walkers because you can only reprint a mythic so many times, before the cards just stop having a draw to players. Let be honest these are chase rates after all.

While I agree that we should keep most of the planeswalkers, I think that Elspeth should replace Ajani and that we really need someone to replace Jace. The storyline says that there will be problems if he ever leaves Ravnica because he is the Living Guildpact. Of course, Wizards is going to ignore that.
Holy crap THIS. It was heartbreaking to read that Tamiyo didn't test that well. She's one of my all-time very favorite all-around cards. It was very disappointing when I read on Maro's blog that she wasn't very popular (though I was encouraged to read that her eventual return was more likely than not).
Elspeth replacing Ajani would be rad, too. Hmmm ... with Chandra and Liliana, then that would make 4/5 females. Unless .. I dunno, is Sorin about ready for a reboot? Sorin 1.0 wasn't that great, and Sorin 2.0 is multicolored. Maybe mono-black 3.0?

Elspeth replacing Ajani would be nice, but since Elspeth was just in a set, I would like Gideon to replace Ajani in M15.
With Chandra being the face of Magic 2014, I am not at all surprised that Garruk is the face of Magic 2015, and I also find the fact that his eyes are glowing violet to be interesting. I definitely am hoping for further information on his story, concerning what happened after he arrived on Innistrad and sought Avacyn's healing, especially whether or not Avacyn was successfully able to free him of the veil's curse.

Well it doesnt look like it. Avacyn may be powerful but so is the Chain Veil. It made Liliana powerful enough to fight against the Demons she made a deal with.
It will certainly be interesting to see how this will play out.
So heres what I'm thinking for this set. We either get a mono black garruk or a mono green garruk. There is no possibility we get a multicolor. Bolas was a very special exception. Plus look at that picture, do you see any green mana left? Garruk seems to be pure black now. They are either going to go with that or they are going to tease us and suprise us with... I guess the same old same old mono green.
Option 1: W - Reprinted Planeswalker (Not Ajani, 4-5CMC) U - New Jace (6CMC) - 6CMC walkers is a thing now B - New Garruk (4-5CMC) R - Reprinted M14 Chandra (4CMC) G - New Nissa, Domri, or Kiora (3-4CMC)
Option 2: W - New Ajani or Gideon U - New Jace B - New Liliana, or Reprint of Liliana of the Veil (Both would sell.) R - Reprinted M14 Chandra (4CMC) G - Reprinted M14 Garruk (6CMC)

The problem I see with that is that Black is an enemy to Green. For Garruk to be purely Black he has to betray his beliefs and everything he lived for. I dont say that its not possible but that would be a heavy change in personality he would have to go through.

You do know that Garruk is presently suffering from a Jekyll & Hyde style curse that is seriously compromising him physically and spiritually?
yes! yes! yes!,
Garruk is always my most favourite planeswalker from the beginning of my magic days,
M15 PW composition will be: WElspeth, UJace, BGarruk, RChandra, GGarruk
it's possible for that composition, because we still can't have both of the them (GGarruk and BGarruk) on the battlefield
Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
Hasn't Garruk forced Liliana to lift the curse by now?
Anyway, I think they ought to make multicolored cards normal in core sets.
No player I've ever taught to play has had trouble grasping a cost of GW after grasping 2GG
It happens like, in the same minute.
Maybe they're worried about exhausting design space. Being a core set however, I don't think anyone would object to seeing Blightning printed for the 10th time down the line.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
I'll throw some mechanic speculation into the ring for the tag line.
"Hunt Bigger Game" Devour or Amplify - Both use +1/+1 counters to go with Theros' use of them as well, both create "Bigger Game", both focus on creatures doing something with other creatures, and both have very small rule sets.
I think Devour is the more complicated of the two mechanics, but it's not bad enough to keep it out of a core set. I personally like both mechanics, so I'm happy with the tag line as it is. A few people have brought up Convoke which has a much larger set of rules to go with it, not that I think this is overbearing for a core set, but can limit it's design space to remain in line with being for newer players. Convoke also does not create "Bigger Game", it encourages a ton of "game".
Looking at just Theros (as I took a short break through GTC-M14), I can see UG being a pain with either Convoke or Devour. Prophet of Kruphix breaks Convoke turning your creatures into even more ridiculous amounts of "mana", and Master of Waves busts Devour for obvious reasons.
Chord of Calling reprint would be cool though. Kilnmouth Dragon reprint if Amplify is brought back. (Favorite Amplify card.)
No idea for a Devour reprint, but I'd love to see something likeGluttonous Slime in that it has Flash and Devour.
Maybe Garruk has been cured by Avacyn and we'll see a GW "Garruk the Redeemed" or something. That'd be pretty interesting I feel. They can explore it in the next expansion. (I know they don't like multi colored costs in core sets but I can hope)

Like if you have a protection from red attacker. Can my RW guy still block him cause he is white or not?
Anyway. I have a genuine question. Does anyone actually like Garruk? I mean, various incarnations of his card have been good. But as a character he's rather non-interesting. And also kind of a tool.

I like the idea of Garruk.
I think I have a better idea of what Garruk is like because I devour flavor like nobody's business, but I feel like most people have a terribly shallow view of Garruk because he's had all of one role in the main story since his introduction 5 years ago, and there's not been a great deal of material to support his character.
I feel like it's time he got a better shot, since he's the only Lorwyn 5 not to have yet.

Well he is a green aligned planeswalker that lives in the jungle with wild beasts. Of course he isnt the brightest and most interesting because that is mostly what green is about. Dont think, follow your instincts.
I find him kinda meh but I dislike Green in general so thats not surprising.
Nothing can top Liliana in my opinion.

In his podcast, Mark Rosewater said they considering doing a "Dark Jace" character in Theros (basically the Bizarro to Jace's Superman) and the new typeface for the cards is called "Beleren." I think it's clear that Wizards sees Jace as the face of the game and he's not going away anytime soon.
That said, it would be nice to see maybe Tezzeret in place of Jace for one Core Set, especially since Bolas is the only villainous planeswalker who has shown up in the Core Set so far. Anything other than Memory Adept would be good, honestly.
