I don't get the hate. Try playing a Legacy Pox deck sometimes, it's a rogue deck sure, but it's a lot of fun and it can definitely win games against tier 1 decks. In the right build this card fits in just fine and either replaces or works alongside the win cons of the deck (which are the weakest parts of Pox, it takes a while to win and it has bad top decks). This isn't an amazing card (at 1 CMC I think it would be broken in Pox, especially Loam variants), but it's going to be a fun tool to use in those decks.
So yeah maybe it only works in one format in one niche archetype, but that is a deck that's worth trying out because it is a lot of fun to play and eats Sneak and Show for breakfast.
I am very glad to see the final product of this contest, as both WotC and the players have spent much time and effort on it, and now, their efforts have finally produced results. I myself wonder why so many users here expressed negative opinions about this contest, when I was enjoying it most thoroughly, since it is very rarely that the average players can have any input or involvement in the process of designing and developing a card. Since this card shall not be appearing in the Theros block, perhaps it may appear in the next core set or next block? I certainly shall be anticipating its appearance.
With that being said, what if WotC were to have You Make the Card as a recurring feature? Once per years may be too frequent, but I believe that either every two years or every three years would be a reasonable amount of time to have this contest, with the winning submission being printed in that year's core set; what does everyone else say about that?

So many users here negative? if you bothered to follow the ymtc you would see initial interest (votes) of 80, 000+. What was the vote count by the end? 25, 000~
So almost THREE QUARTERS of the participants couldn't give a **** by the final stage. That's woeful.
What other than negative attitudes do you expect when a card is being designed for 27, 000 out of 5, 000, 000+ regular players.
Seriously, if they instead followed an LSV or other "name" player design a card, they would get more followers.
I hope all the people that thought this would be unplayable now realize they were wrong. Somehow I doubt it. I had to put up listening to people talk trash about this card for months while I defended it and now that it's finished it is exactly the right power level, and playable too. I feel like all the people that defended this card need a collective apology from the people constantly complaining, "Wizards doesn't know how to make cards!", "This is such a waste!", "I hate Wizards!", etc. I wish we could just agree this is a good card, but I'm sure people have just reinforced their own beliefs based off emotions by now.
The card is still garbage. You won't get an apology from me.
Well, it was supposed to be a land first of all. Then they messed up all that bracketing and naming, holy cow. Now we have a do-nothing enchantment that relies on a support-role card type to get random "advantage". I couldn't be more disappointed
This is one of the cheapest engine cards they have designed. It might actually get banned in edh since it turns wheels into a ton of card advantage and mana at very little cost.
Alot of the points to why its unplayable are valid but as the best megrim effect ever I don't think this is unplayable. Liliana's caress say some fringe play and this card is arguably much stronger.

Not really, Every stage people got pissed off because their choice, the one they tought was better, didn't pass and "worst options" were choosen.
So it is more than natural that the final stages had less votes
"they choose that awful name instead of the one i like??? i will not vote on this anymore!"
Yes, people are exaclty like this.
This mechanic was still one of the worst ones to choose, all Wizards did was save it from becoming the trash $0.05 rare it was guaranteed to become - and nobody here owes you an apology for acknowledging that fact.
- Also, I hope you're aware of the hypocrisy of demanding an apology while claiming that anyone opposed to your opinion is just reinforcing their own mindset based off of emotions.
This is exactly what I mean. Thanks for proving my point. You people really are the worst. Just play it or don't we really don't need this negativity. And you can take your high horse and get lost. What is the point in a post like yours really? "Look at me I know everything!" That's what you sound like.

This card is, Ill admit, begrudgingly playable in legacy, albeit in a very specific list. The scary part about it is actually the discard a land - BB mana piece.
I think the only way to even consider playing this isin a monoblack list with Confidants, Dark rituals, liliana, hymn, and duress stuff + 8rack
I now wonder if we will see ostracize come back at all. going T1 dark ritual, this, ostracize, hymn to tourach will possibly be backbreaking in the format since most decks will usually start with a 2 land hand. It is not inconceivable that this thing will chain either, turning it into a better mind twist.
I hit you with a hymn, you discard a land and a spell, i get a draw and mana, which I use for a Hymn. I almost think putting this in a traditional Pox shell is narrow minded as it may be capable of its own style list.

That's actually the case with almost anything. Most people who watch the pilot of a TV series don't finish the series. Most people who begin a videogame don't finish it. If you ever watch multi-part series on Youtube, you will see that the viewer counts on "Part 1" are almost invariably higher than "Part 2" which in turn is higher than "Part 3" and so on. When ignorant, it's best to keep your mouth closed.

Lolwhut. So because we disagree with you, we claim to know all? Everyone has the right to voice their opinion, and a lot of us share the opinion that this card is bad. Accept that and stop demanding apologies from strangers on the internet.
If you don't want this card, guarantee that you will sell them to me for cheap. I want it in writing, so that you can't begrudgingly change your mind later.

You're the ignorant one. And with no manners I might add.
The end card is designed for 27, 000~ people out of a multi million person customer base. How is that a success?
This isn't a t v show by the way. It's a marketing trick. No company partaking in fan based or fan involved product participation wouldlike to see 75% of the participants drop out by the end. It's just rubbish catering to 0.5% or less of the player base. People like you are just too stupid to understand that there are much better ways to use the time and money wasted on this exercise. It's bad business and that's a fact.

On Steam, only 46% of people who own Portal bear it. Only 45% of people who own Portal 2 beat it. Are those games also failures?
Has there been any talk or mention on if this will be a rare or an uncommon?
Considering the power level of this card and lack of discard in most sets, this should be an uncommon at most. I would think this thing is weak enough as a common for limited.
On a related note, did you know Quest for the Nihil Stone has a Gatherer rating of 4? Looking through the comments, apparently some players just love this kind of effect. They'll probably love Waste Not as well.

portal, nor portal 2, tout themselves on being created by the players.
Nothing official I believe, but I imagine it will be rare. I cannot see this kind of big, thematic, super-enginey card at uncommon.
