So after seeing everything spoiled, I gotta say, I think the 2011 Commander decks were better. Mostly because I was hoping to see more, new 2 color generals, Edric, Spymaster of Trest and company were some of the best cards from the 2011 release. I'm not complaining though, these decks look great.
So what do people think is going to be the Scavenging Ooze of this release?

Don't be surprised if Toxic Deluge is a thing. Not a lot of versatile cheap sweeps.
This is great card and an interesting thought... Will it make a big splash outside of EDH though? It's definitely going in my Maga, Traitor to Mortals EDH.

I lovew all of these. I'm going for Oloro, ad STAX seems to be my thing. With some inexpensive singles, it look like he'll be a great introduction to commander. I love all of the new/alt arts on the cards, and I feel like Wizards did a good job with these.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
]Another Wizards fanboy wants to glorify everything they do. Why can't you see that the game has gotten nothing but worse since the 1940's? At least in the 1800's we had spells that actually did something. I remember in 1492 when I first opened a pack of Alpha under the dim light of my oil lantern, I was at least inspired to travel to a new undiscovered land.!
Yeah...I mean I wasn't sold on these until I saw the new arts. Old Archangel art in the new border is sweet. New Karmic Guide art is also amazing. New Control Magic for the cube, etc. Plus you can never have enough Sol Rings.
I'm pretty happy with what I see overall. I'm interested in a few of the new generals and other new cards and I'm curious to see how the decks balance out of the box against each other.
Grixis and Naya top the power curve. Esper and Jund are around the same power level and Bant trails behind as the weakest of the decks. Bant's generals are quite powerful but they get little support from their deck.
And I guess that's why I want to play the Bant deck (not own it) as I believe it takes a hell of lot of skill to convince people not to stomp you while you eat away at them.
I think Thunderstaff is one of the more interesting designs in the deck and TBH I'd wish they would have made more similar trade-off mechanics for the deck, preferably at creature-format so Roon could play too and not just Derevi.

Kaalia of the Vast seems to be the most valuable commander from Gen 1 but Flusterstorm counts as the most valuable card overall followed by Scavenging Ooze - and that despite being reprinted in M14.
But yea for Gen 2 it seems like Grixis will fetch the most value (Baleful Strix and True-Name Nemesis being the most valued), only partially contested by Jund's amount of Portal reprints and their value - however they may tank in value when supply increases.
Most valuable Commander seems to be Oloro.
It is criminal to see the prices for the decks nearly double on pre-order when what you say is true and these will be available at my local Target. I may have to drive around to a couple Targets or, the gods forbid, Wal-Mart, but I will find one for MSRP.
Agreed 100%. Any store doing this can go straight to hell, especially since it's confirmed that this isn't a limited print run. I feel like buying bags of them, going to stores charging more, and announcing to their customers "This store is charging double for this product, I will sell it to you at MSRP, just meet me out in the parking lot" as I hold the bags high in the air.
If i was gonna buy one of these i would buy the one with the merfolk just for legacy and i would by the bant commander deck and make roon my commander and add resto angel and thragtusk and other creatures like that.
Agreed 100%. Any store doing this can go straight to hell, especially since it's confirmed that this isn't a limited print run. Except that you won't, odds are. Because the risk of not selling it, and the risk of getting banned from that store isn't worth it. Better to simply tell people that they're available at Target/Wal-Mart at MSRP(when they actually are), and let them go buy them there themselves, if they choose.
Of course, the "I'll get them from Wal-Mart" crowd is going to all want the most valuable one, which will quickly leave only the less valuable ones in stock there--and may cause your LGS to charge more for the pricier ones based on scarcity, even if they had previously had them all at the same price. For example, the BGW deck sold out first out of the previous round, due to the (at the time) singles price on Scavenging Ooze--and while you could find the others at WM, the BGW deck was gone in a flash, if you ever saw it there at all. So this round looks like Grixis currently holds the most value, so it'll most likely sell out first.
"Printing until demand is filled" won't help--stores/distributors receive these in blocks of 5, and it's not profitable to order a block, sell 1, then not be able to sell the rest--kind of why we've now got 1 block deck instead of 2. So store/distributor demand for 5-pack blocks will fall off long before demand for a given deck is fulfilled.
So what do people think is going to be the Scavenging Ooze of this release?
The True-Name Nemesis :/ damn legacy....
This is the popular choice, and definitely a good one,
but I'm hedging my bets on Unexpectedly Absent.

...in other words which deck has the most value?
General consensus seems to be the Grixis deck, with baleful strix
Say what?!
The most valuable cards last time were Scavenging Ooze and Flusterstorm,
not Edric, Spymaster of Trest
(and all three of those were in different decks).
He may have been one of the best new Commanders, but he wasn't that valuable.
