Gahiji seems a bit underwhelming, compared to Marath. I guess he's just too straightforward for my tastes.
On the other hand, I'm liking Nekusar (which my mind keeps wanting to call Nekosaur) and the art is cool. By the way, Nekusar's ability registers as general damage, right?
The zombie is sweet, I could see people build around him. The naya one is just plain boring, not the kind of card I would play as a commander, but still playable as a normal card.
Here's something I forgot to think before: where do these legendary creatures come from? Gahiji, Honored one has a sort-of-Japanese name, so it could be a Kamigawa beast, although I don't remember such monsters in that block... As for Nekusar, the Mindrazer, he could be from anywhere I suppose... but he really seems someone coming from the Middle-Earth (Dwimorberg anyone?)!
We've been told there's a few Uncharted Realms in the works for some of the Commander 2013 characters, so we'll have to wait and see.
I doubt most of the ones we've seen so far are from established settings because those references are usually obvious.
Anybody complaining about Gahiji being boring doesn't see the potential. He's an aggro general that motivates your opponents to attack each other, and not you. There is more to him than just a big, dumb creature. But even if he was just a big, dumb, creature, so what? I can't think of another Naya colored Commander that does anything similar.
If you don't like Nekusar, then shame on you. He is everything a Commander should be. I would never use the word boring to describe him.
Hello Summoners, on this turn, draw a card, but don't expect to do it easily! One life will be the least of your worries with a Teemo counter shooting you from the bush!

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?

Hmm the "political" aspect of Crescendo of War often failed to lead people away from the caster in our play-group, simply because people knew he would eventually play Insurrection and win.
Why the heck is the Naya beast legend 4/4? Most of Naya's stuff triggers off being power 5+.
If you're not playing with the Naya giant creature effects, that's no big deal obviously, but for a creature which seems to be explicitly Nayan (not just naya colors), that's a detail you should get right.
Nekusar fills a very important missing piece in one of Grixis' Archetypes for EDH - the Commander piece. (Well, in EDH you can use anything of the colors, but the point was it filled up the specific missing gap), so while it presents nothing new as a strategies, existing decks out there right now are scrambling to replace their Commander.
Gahiji, on the other hand, isn't too remarkable. It allows the occasional victory (especially for token swarms), but as a political tool, it's less effective than the Spymaster of Trest - drawing a card is better incentive than dealing 2 more damage if it isn't lethal damage anyway. And considering the other Naya legend is the combo-tastic Marath, I'd say Gahiji is in for some competition in popularity.
Hey guys, not every card that is RGW is from Naya. This guy is not a gargantuan from Naya, just as Rith, the Awakener is also not a gargantuan from Naya. They're just RGW legendary creatures from other planes. This is one reason I dislike the Shard naming convention. Someone earlier was complaining that Oloro doesn't interact with artifacts like Esper should. Well actually, he's not from Esper in Alara plane. He's just WUB.
Wheels.dec especially great now that you can also throw in fun stuff like Underworld Dreams :D.
I'm still only planning to get the Jund deck list though, based off of Prossh I'm pretty sure I'll get some good stuff for my other EDH decks plus it means I'll have an excuse to play tribal dragons and sacrifice.dec

Scary stuff. I love the art on Nekusar.
A smaller, colorier Seizan?
Sure.

This new lich is way better than that.

Aaaaaand now I need to build that deck.

Nope. Only combat damage is general damage. But Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind says thanks for trying.

Waste Not is going to have a deck to go into now.

Yep. Honestly wheels.dec worries me. I think it could be a potent multiplayer option if loaded with fast mana, free counters, and draw sevens.

Spiteful Visions on a stick with no drawback for you. I'd definitely would try it in a discard deck.

I already have Nekusar's deck built but Garza Zol doesn't really do anything for it, time to switch that one out.
Gahiji doesn't seem that bad, makes the tokens pretty scary.

Do I want a Gahiji deck with Rith in it, or a Rith deck with a Gahiji in it?
