OK, I'm going to go out on a limb here [and probably break my head], but I'm a bit confused. Text states:
"Whenever a creature attacks enchanted player, its controller gains 1 life."
Everybody seems to be keying in on the idea that the 'its' is a reference to each attacking creature. Read it again. Where do you get that?
What if the 'its' is the 'controller' of the Curse? It is an Enchant Player after all.
I'm probably looking at this sideways - reading into it something that isn't there - but...
yeah... no.
The card is definitely referring to the creatures. Its classic MTG templating. If they were referring to enchanted player it would say "that player" instead of "its". If it was referring to the controller of the curse it would say "you" instead of "its"

Thanks, I'll accept that. Sometimes the wording gets a bit quirky for me [I bother Judges alot]. I may have been playing this game too long [since ANTIQUITIES].
What I don't understand is the really shabby curses like White, Blue and Red. Green is somewhat decent and Black is alright but the others are just bad.
I liked the Vows a ton because they could be used on your own creeps or send enemy nasties in the face of enemies. These "soft-politics" don't attract me much. It doesn't help that I utterly hate the curse-"mechanic".
]Another Wizards fanboy wants to glorify everything they do. Why can't you see that the game has gotten nothing but worse since the 1940's? At least in the 1800's we had spells that actually did something. I remember in 1492 when I first opened a pack of Alpha under the dim light of my oil lantern, I was at least inspired to travel to a new undiscovered land.!
Exactly. Politics is what makes multiplayer interesting. Otherwise, why not just play 1v1?
That is why I primarily play 1 v 1, its pretty boring to me if you win a game because you sat there doing nothing or just made everyone around you think your a non threat or just sit there as everyone else kills each other to clean up the mess. To me a deck should be able to win on its own without degrading its self some political ploys, alliances etc....
