If you're afraid of this, play permission or discard to prevent it from resolving; play recursion and redundant cards so you have ways to rebuild after a wipe; protect your cards.
This is not the end of the world, and you are not a special snowflake.
@Winged: Yea I'd forgot about Enchanted making itself into an Enchantment and blow itself up that way. Thanks to the user who reminded me of this at one or two pages back.

You don't even need removal (unless the caster floats mana and plays stuff afterwards), the Bane will kill itself if Enchanted Evening is in play. It's a standard EtB trigger, which means that the Bane will be an Enchantment as well and thus get destroyed by the trigger.

Right. Because, you know, printing cards that help deal with the power level of card types that were degenerate/easily became degenerate/lead to it in EDH (before it was even supported) is totally a bad thing.
So where's Torpor Orb and Humility 2.0, that's what I want to know.
Having used to play Animar decks, I'm certain those decks will love to have this card.
This is the first card previewed for Commander'13 that I'm going to have to put through heavy play-testing in my deck. Something tells me it's going to work miracles in my deck.
im confused why would you turn anything into artifacts in response? if anything you want to keep mana open to artifact your opponents permanants so they at least lose something.
That was my point. Like when you turn your opponents' land into creatures with Kamahl as they cast a wrath.
I actually like this guy, though I'm pretty sure this marks the death knell for Deadeye Navigator, as they want to keep having the abusable creatures, but it makes the enablers incredibly stupid.
The card itself seems powerfully but not absolutely horrific.
It does do horrible things to my Karn deck, but no moreso than another other board wipe really would.
Plus, playing this card typically is going to make you enemy of the table. The upside is that you're never play this out without there being relevant artifacts and enchantments out. The downside is, there will always be relevant things people wanted to keep out, so you did just make yourself enemy of the table.
I will have to include Nevermore in my Sliver Queen deck again..., and hoping I have Leyline of the Void in play to avoid it entering from a graveyard...
All of my EDH decks contain both artifacts and enchantments, so this card would be devastating to them, which means that I shall need to take precautions to not be hurt by it. This card can definitely be a game-changer, in the proper deck or situation, making it a card that a player shall enjoy playing themselves, but hate when they are affected by it, which is what makes a card great, in my mind.

I'm not a Commander player, but I find funny that people complain about this card. Like, how many times are you really going to see it? And how many times are you going to see it interacting with other specific cards? It's one card in a 100-cards deck. Other constructed formats see four copies on 60-cards deck and still work fine IMHO.
But, as I started, I am not a Commander player. Maybe Commander isn't what I think and it's actually full of toolbox-like decks.
Tutors/extreme card draw are extremely common in Commander. It's why putting Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and Cabal Coffers in a three color deck works.

edit2: Open the Vaults is a card. Panoptic Mirror and we're up to infinite recurring artifacts + enchantments.
