I like the idea behind the blue spirit but I really don't feel like running an otherwise vanilla creature in an edh deck. Wish his body wasn't so bad or he had some sort of evasion.
Sydri's second ability seems really forced, a lot of these shard generals just seem to shove in one or two colors on a card that could otherwise be mono/dual colored.
Irrelevant. You didn't know what strictly better means, but you saw some cool people use it, so you went with it. Now you want to save face by aggressively turning it into a discussion of whether or not the charm [Dimir Charm] is standard playable, which is an altogether different discussion. Very transparent, zero points for trying.
Oh man, Wizards. And here I was so proud of you for making an Esper-colored general that wasn't randomly an artifact or that cared about artifacts. You were so close. Oh well.
That blue spirit is lolgasmically bad. I hope it's not part of a cycle.
I think it might actually be pretty okay. It's a diplomacy card. As long as there's a few players, an opponent should be gracious to take the two if it means drawing and you get the draw too. The spirit gives you an ally.
Surveyor's Scope is busted. I bet it will see play in legacy along with Veteran Explorer.
Um, I think you've misread the card. Legacy. 1v1. The most it's going to grab you is one land. X is not the number of lands the opponent controls. 2 mana to fetch a land doesn't seem all that great, especially when it has conditions.
The scope is freaking amazing. Cool thing is that the lands enter untapped! Not a fan of "Karnerina". Kinda kills the specialness of Karn. I guess she is easy mode while Karn is hard mode if you are going for a pure artifact theme.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
What i really like in Sydri, is that she can target other player's artifacts as well. Just pay U to detach any opponent's equipment during combat or get rid of almost any artifact in response to wrath. With Mycosynth Lattice she becomes quite scary land destroyer.
I had to read it a few times to make sure it was truly that useless.
Wait, what? Are you guys playing by the same Commander rules I am? "Hey, you wanna draw some cards? Let me poke you. Oh you have a giant growth effect? Cool, let's both draw five apiece! Oh, everyone else now hates us both? Guess we're gonna have to take those 10 extra cards and team up..."
Sure, in a duel that card is truly, outrageously awful. But in a 5 or 6 player game? If you can't put that to some amazing use, you aren't trying.
Also, Scope is good, I'm glad they make conditional ramp like that in order to help out nongreen decks, but without giving green the shaft. And the way it helps out those who might be getting mana screwed makes for a friendlier game. Good design.
Scope is sweet, especially in those groups where multiple armageddons is a thing.
Sydri can make for a run deck, especially with stuff like Darksteel Plate or Darksteel Ingot. Unkillable 3/3 that can also block and get lifelink/deathtouch? Sure. Why not?
Also, using her first ability against enemy artifact lands is hilarious.
Draw spirit is pretty darn bad. Curse seems like a combo piece, and that's it.

"I hope to have such a death... lying in triumph atop the broken bodies of those who slew me..."
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

Overcosted low powered draw conditional on attack based politics isn't my idea of a good time in EDH.
It's totally fine if you like the card, but accept that it's really bad.
The art on Sydri, Galvanic Genius is absolutely fantastic. Terese Nielsen does it again. This also gives me hope that we might see her version of Hanna in this deck as well.
I'm pretty sure the card isn't that great if you're not playing multiplayer. In a duel it's mostly a Wayfarer's Bauble with an activation restriction.
D'oh. That's what I get for thinking "Hey I can get two lands with this!" then thinking it would be great if it did that in legacy. I don't know how I got to that conclusion. Maybe I thought you would get the difference in lands?
Surveyor's Scope is busted. I bet it will see play in legacy along with Veteran Explorer.
call me a pessimist, but i doubt a colorless rampant growth/marginally cheaper wayfarer's bauble that requires you to be behind to activate it is good enough for your average Legacy deck. it exiles itself, too; so you can't even abuse it with reanimation tricks.

Esper general seems pretty boring. i'm personally not very excited about any of the spoiled legends so far except possibly the Grixis Underworld Dreams-on-a-stick and maaaaaybe the vampire. i bought the set of 5 last time, but they're gonna have to show me some amazing value left to be spoiled in order for me to justify shelling out the cash for this round of decks. (also, me being broke as hell doesn't help the excitement level or lack thereof.)
For some reason, Sydri reminds me a lot of Grand Architect. She messes with artifacts and then gives them abilities. I love it. Scope is pretty good, but not particularly interesting. I probably will play it though. The other 2 are boring, though not useless.
When I saw that Sydri was a Galvanic Genius, I thought she would be UR.
...Anyway...
Is it just me, or does Sydri actually have a shot at being playable in Vintage (but not Legacy)? Restrictive colours, yes, but she's cheap enough, and pop all the Moxen, here I come! It's also nice to be able to Swords to PlowsharesTime Vault.

It depends if she is a wizard or not. If she is a wizard, it is a lot more likely than if she is an artificer.

Busted eh? That's definitely a word. Not an appropriate one mind you, but definitely a word.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
If it is indeed an artificer and not a wizard, it is significantly worse.
