The other Curses have infringed the design space of other cards too
But this Curse infringes not just on the other card, but on the other Curse, that's the point. When there is a thousand of cards of one type, then it's ok to have some repeating, but when there is only a dozen of that type of card, then it looks bad.
Gladly pay 1 more and a different color to get the counter on attack instead of connect. This is hilarious, I love it. Especially in 1v1. (60-card!)
In multiplayer land, I want a way to return it to my hand. Because if you attack someone for lethal, your teams gets counters, that player dies, then the aura dies. Aw. So Vedalken Mastermind to enchant someone else, or Sun Titan. Wheeee!!!
I really like these curses. I can't wait for politics when you try to curse someone and then they try to convince you why you should curse someone else!

Haha I can't blame you for being unobservant, so I'll help you out
Merfolk are almost always depicted in or near the water, except for...wait for it...when they're in Ravnica!
Plus, I'm not sure how diverse the merfolk have appeared over the years, but this looks like a Simic one to me. Certainly not a Lorwyn one anyway.

Makes Gaea's Anthem look like a chump a lot of the time (barring other swarm decks).
