You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Planeswalkers basically just ulti off the bat when doubling season's on the board and players think that their +X abilities add double the counters when they don't. This fixes both problems by just eliminating all interactions with the card type entirely.
Well, i was referring more to the asymmetrical nature of this one. For the same cost, I'd have expected Doubling Season 2.0 to interact with just +1 counters and tokens, but not *everybody's* tokens. As it stands, this is strictly worse, except in the niche case of your opponent playing wither/infect, though of course people will still play this card.

It's terrible! It's only so good that if Doubling Season didn't exist you would all be ****ting yourselves with excitement.
Seriously guys, you only get 1 copy of DS in your deck and them's the rules. This gets close enough that it will be almost identical with everything but planeswalkers. All the DoublingSeason.Dec I see will use this at 95% full strength. And yes, it's symmetrical. But, that isn't something we've ever really had a hard time breaking.
I don't get the hate. Most decks are either optimized for tokens/counters or they're not. Making it symmetrical and affecting your opponents literally makes no difference for the vast majority of opponent's decks and cards.
If you want to play a token/counters deck, run this card. If you're not, then don't. It's that simple.
Why in the hell didn't they just reprint Doubling Season in the deck? It will reduce the cost without being a bluntly tailored middle finger to anyone who's on a budget. Budget players don't *want* cheap alternatives, they just accept them because Wizards won't reprint the good versions.
For another good example, I've never heard any budget player say "Plasm Capture? Whew, thank god they didn't reprint Mana Drain. I would much rather suck on a mediocre alternative."
For what it's worth, the opposite of evergreen is "deciduous" so I suggest we start using that from now on to refer to shroud, banding, islandhome, etc.

It's another doubling season for decks that use tokens or +1/+1 counters...
And there are a million of them.
I don't know are we? That's like saying because Scavenging Ooze is ran in Legacy (Sometimes) this card is great in that format.
A creature getting a +1/+1 counter is not justification to run this card.
What you fail to realize is that while yes, this card might do something sometimes, it doesn't do enough to be worth a slot. The price of a card as one of your 99 is HUGE in EDH, a format with the most open card pool. Unless your deck is awful, this card will NEVER do enough to make the cut.

I'd say Plasm Capture is pretty good. Yes, it costs more mana, but it does give you colored mana. Of course it is nowhere near as good as Mana Drain, but that is just because Mana Drain is broken.
As for the card, the sky wouldn't have fallen if they had made it 4 mana. I know that it can be Doubling Season number 2/3 in a deck, but there was no need to make it strictly worse (And before anybody says that it isn't, strictly worse means that in almost every situation it is worse than the other card. You'd prefer this if you were facing an infect deck, but that is not the point. Almost all of the time you would prefer Doubling Season.)

Personally? I'm really really happy they didn't reprint Mana Drain. Even excluding the warping effect it would have on standard, I've played against enough terrible players countering pointless stuff with Mana Drain, only to complain when nobody counters the important stuff half a turn later. Because they had to get their four colorless mana, of course. Only to not even use it at all. So yes, I'm very happy they didn't reprint Mana Drain, and did, in fact, print a different version.
Plus, you know, they just reprinted Doubling Season this summer. So there's that too.

So take doubling season out of my Rhys tokens deck, because it "doesn't do enough". Check.
Any deck that uses tokens or 1/1 counters would like this card. You can run both, since it is a 100-card singleton format.

I can't imagine not running this in any ghave, guru of spores deck, or prime speaker zegana deck. When a card interacts with your commander as favorably as this one does with many commanders, how can you say it will never do enough to make the cut?

Symmetrical does it give a bit of a punch though as far as playing politics goes

Because this card is awful, has no synergy with anything short of derpy creatures, and helps out your opponents?

Um, no.
Are players on this forum really that bad that they can't grasp the price of including a card over the hundreds of better options?
Ok so you play a five mana enchantment.
This is already pretty huge. You need a good reason to do this.
Does it automatically generate advantage like a Future Sight? No. Um ok.
Does it have potential to hurt you by helping your opponents? Yes? Oh shoot.
If you have a card in your deck that can reasonably be cut for this, your deck probably sucks.
