Man...Idk...Such a weird card. And if the symbols on her abilities count, that's pretty insane. It's like turn 1 whatever new one mana Delver variant comes out, turn two dude, turn 3 Thassa.
I honestly don't know what to make of her. She seems good. Hopefully the rest of the gods aren't just more generic 5/5 indestructibles...Somehow that seems like the case though since indestructibility is such a non-blue effect.

I vote it as being highly likely that that Thassa is legit, as WotC will snip out reminder text if need be, thus removing the only real objection to the card's legitimacy.
What reminder text would they remove for Lasav? Hexproof? The important part is set-specific keyword reminder text. It's actually why I left the reminder text off for indestructible.

While I do like this card's design, I'm calling fake.
It just doesn't seem epic enough to be a Mythic God card. I'm expecting something more splashy. Also, 4chan, no image and strange template.
An indestructible 5/5 who lets you scry at the beginning of every turn and can make any of your dudes unblockable for 3 mana isn't splashy enough for you?
If this is how the Gods work, won't they be easily destroyed if cast before you have the necessary Devotion,
pretty much making sure nobody does that (and limiting their play?)
Also, if Scry is in Theros, that one piece of art is very likely Magma Jet.

Oh, I bet this answers the hint MaRo gave about a 5/5 green creature that can be cast for :symg::symg:. Since this is a 5/5 for :2mana::symu:, I guess we can expect undercosted fatties for all the colors.
A 5/5 giant snake that can be cast for :symg::symg: does not make a good card for the green god.
1. That a /tg/ user somehow managed to randomly guess the exact name and functionality of a completely unknown mechanic and also design a fake card that used said mechanic in a feasible fashion, or
I really don't want to call anything off of 4chan legit, but I'm inclined to believe. Calling devotion 5 days early even without the exact wording would be one hell of a got lucky. If it is a fake however, it's an awesome one and whoever made it should be proud.

They work for Chroma but they don't work for devotion, if the one card with it we've seen for sure is any judge. Note it uses the symbol B rather than say "black mana symbol". Those concepts are not the same!
Well chroma would have said "the number of black mana symbols" and black mana symbol is exactly B.
I'm calling this fake, simply because it do not shufle itself back into the library upon death, like all "godly" creatures, such as progenitus and the eldrazi. I belo e that the gods Will have this clause.
No. B is a black mana symbol, but it's not the only black mana symbol. (R/B), (B/P), (2/B) etc. are all also black mana symbols — but they are not B. "Devotion to black" counts B specifically, according to the reminder text, not any old black mana symbol. Devotion would not count a creature costing 2(U/B)(U/B), for instance.

If this is true, it makes Devotion an even crappier mechanic to introduce after a Gold Block than it already was!
They've gotten better about not making "parasitic" mechanics within a block-
It would be nice if they would go further and keep them out of the same Standard meta.
Hopefully there is a bit in the rules FAQ that says otherwise,
like there apparently is for Bestowed things that have their target killed in response.
If it isn't true, I think Nightveil Specter may have just gotten a little bit better.

Reminder text isn't always technically exact, for reasons of space. I'll be shocked if devotion doesn't count hybrid symbols.

Reminder text is not necessarily accurate. B is just much, much shorter than "black mana symbol". This is close enough for reminder text.
Source? The returning tweaked mechanic is clearly devotion, but the only other card with the God border we've seen is the card with Bestow. It's almost 100% the case that all cards with Bestow are Enchantment Creatures and have that border as a visual indication of how they work.
Actually, thassa's bidet has the starry border too. The "god border" seems to simply indicate a card that is both an enchantment and another card type.
Because it says it doesn't. It counts B, not "black mana symbols". Unless there is something new in the rules that is not covered in the reminder text - which is a possibility - devotion only counts the "normal" mana symbols.
The number of black mana symbols in 2(U/B)(U/B) is 2. There are two black mana symbols in that cost.
The number of B in 2(U/B)(U/B) is 0. There are no B in that cost.
You and I must think quite the opposite, and if this ability is infact similar to chroma, then I am pretty positive it would work for devotion. This is the block that is after RTR after all, but I may be wrong. We'll find out in time.

The synergy means that you draw a card for 1U if you have a creature out each turn.
For the people who feel underwhelmed, a free scry each turn is almost worth it alone... the rest is gravy!
I actually did too. It deserves a reprint and new border.
Back on subject, I am in love with this design and have a new commander deck idea with it. Shame that it is just mono blue... Or is it?:cool2:
