Doubt it.
The tradition, post Weatherlight, since we started going to new planes is that the first set names the plane.
Considering Khone is on the plane of Dominaria, near Jamuura, I highly doubt they'd name the first set "Dominaria".

Evil is boring. The universe is friendly. Life is on your side. Joy is your birthright. Cynicism is idiotic. Fear is a bad habit. Despair is lazy. In fact, all of creation wants you to succeed. Act as if the universe is a prodigious miracle created for your amusement and illumination. Assume that secret helpers are working behind the scenes to assist you in turning into the gorgeous masterpiece you were born to be. . . Life always gives you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
Even then that tradition has not held true since Mirrodin.
Look at Time Spiral block...
Every *new* plane.
And I'm assuming "post-Weatherlight" means, essentially, Modern format era, as you could contrive the Odyssey-Onslaught storyline as an epilogue to the Weatherlight saga. It does still take place on Dominaria, after all.
But ya, Mirrodin, Champions of *Kamigawa* (I still call it Champions as every set had Kamigawa in it, but it follows the rule), Ravnica, Lorwyn, Shadowmoor, Shards of *Alara*, Zendikar, Innistrad, and now Theros all have the name in some way shape or form in their title. Hell, even Scars and RTR had the plane name.
So yes, I'd say the only Modern Era set to not have its first large set reference the plane name was Time Spiral. ZOMG IT'S NOT A TRADITION.

And yet they went back to mirrodin, despite affinity in original mirrodin block purportedly causing players to quit in droves and having the longest ban list in block constructed history. And scars was pretty awesome as far as I and many people I know are concerned.
Until Zendikar, Mirrodin had been the previous high-water mark in terms of sales. Mirrodin itself wasn't so much the problem as it was Darksteel that pushed everything into problematic places and started the player bleed that occurred for the next few years.
Also, it seems odd that WotC would avoid these planes - surely it presents a great opportunity to right the wrongs made on the initial visit?
It's much more of a "creative"-level problem for many of them where they just don't hold up to what they need in the modern era.

Nitpicking, but technically Mirrodin is an epilogue to Odyssey and Onslaught as well, due to the fact that the Mirari was made into Memnarch.

If I remember correctly, Maro said in some Drive to Work episode that Ravnica: City of Guilds was the most selling for a long time, then got bypassed by Zendikar. I also got the impression Zendikar got bypassed by Innistrad and later Return to Ravnica.
Well, there's always inter-block synergy these days.
So what from Theros indicates "Warlords"?
Warlords seems like Tribal, but there's so little in Theros comparatively...
Not a lot of Tribal in Theros, but there is a good bit of Minotaur Tribal love. Minotaur's are Red's Tribal in Warlords of Khanar.
Dashes of Human Tribal as well, White's tribal is Human.
Black will be Zombies.
Blue Merfolk.
And green... will have enough creatures to make up for it.
But Mark Rosewater indicated that they don't plan to make tribal the main theme again after Lowyrn. So what is another way that creatures can be divided into warring factions?
Colors. Warlords of Khanar will be mono-colored matters (tie in with Devotion)
tribal, with a smattering of Lords.
For what it's worth, the opposite of evergreen is "deciduous" so I suggest we start using that from now on to refer to shroud, banding, islandhome, etc.
But Mark Rosewater indicated that they don't plan to make tribal the main theme again after Lowyrn.
Innistrad proves that you are wrong.
It contained: Human Tribal, Zombie Tribal, Wolf Tribal, Spirit Tribal, and Vampire Tribal. Avacyn added Angels and Demons to the mix.
The difference between Innistrad tribal and tribal from earlier blocks (such as Lorwyn), was that Innistrad didn't focus just on the tribes, but allowed for enough other creature types to prevent it from feeling forced.

“A man's at odds to know his mind cause his mind is aught he has to know it with. He can know his heart, but he dont want to. Rightly so. Best not to look in there. It aint the heart of a creature that is bound in the way that God has set for it. You can find meanness in the least of creatures, but when God made man the devil was at his elbow. A creature that can do anything. Make a machine. And a machine to make the machine. And evil that can run itself a thousand years, no need to tend it.”

Valid point, I forgot that portion of the story. It acted as a link but definitely was its own separate story, compared to odyssey/onslaught which was Dominaria post Apocalypse.
It could also be argued odyssey had such little link to the weatherlight crew that the same thought process applies.

What is one way to do multicolor without gold cards? Hybrid.
Warlords of Khanar block could be hybrid, which will tie into the devotion quite nicely and allow for maybe even some wedge-like cards.
"Sarkhan Vol is a primarily red planeswalker who came from a plane scourged by war. This plane was controlled by constantly battling warlords, who had a tradition of slaying dragons for sport and glory, driving the beasts to extinction. This horrified the shamans of the plane, who worshiped the dragon as the pinnacle of predation.
Early on in his life, Sarkhan was a soldier, but sought something more than the life of an expendable pawn. He joined a clan of shamans, where he found some level of peace, but quickly grew bitter because of the futility of worshiping a nigh-extinct beast. When he returned to his warrior life, he quickly rose in position and power until he came to claim the title of general to his warlord's army. Upon his first expedition, he was touched by an ancient dragon spirit in a trance after having slain the opposing commander. Sacrificing his own men, he unleashed a massive spell that wiped the battlefield clean as he ascended, channeling the power of the spirit he'd connected to. This was to be his first and last battle as a general, as he was stripped of his position, leaving no connection left to bind him to that plane."

that's not what happened at all. kamahl stabbed phage, akroma, and some old lady and they became korona. then korona got stabbed by her "prophets" and kamahl got drunk with a mutant centaur
Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
Does that about sum things up?

Why would they subtitle a DnD or Neverwinter game with something that wasn't immediately recognizable?
The whole point is to generate connection to the product or why bother.
Again tribal was not the main theme of Innistrad.

i would say 90% chance, Warlords of Khanar is the plane of origin of Sarkhan Vol, and Mongolian theme
