The problem with a creature as cool as this is finding creatures worthy of running alongside it.

It mostly consists of a napalm filled trench around my house and a stack of 1994 pornography in my basement.

As much as I'm against the OTT view that this card is going to solo tournaments, cure cancer and make Susan Boyle attractive I'm not really a fan of the opposing camp who think it slaughters puppies and sired Justin Bieber.
So that's two Archons in this set so far. Would it be safe to say we could expect at least two Specters as well? Oh, what'd I'd do for a UB Specter.

Wizards print good rares, players complain about cash grab. They print underwhelming rares, players complain that the cards suck. They spoil the best cards first, players complain about the insane prices of preorders. They spoil the meh cards first, players complain that this is the worst set ever.
So. I think I understand now.
As far as these forums are concerned, WotC can never do anything good because:
Card that is new and probably good = "pushed"
Card that is new and probably bad = "EDH/casual fodder"
Card that is a reprint = "lazy"
Card that is a better version of an older card = "power creep"
Card that is a weaker version of an older card = "worthless"
For standard maybe crypt ghast + this? If unburial rites wasn't going this would be bonkers in standard...
As is, maybe a control finisher, maybe some sort of animation deck will work, who knows...
I easily see this going into modern gifts decks. Angel of despair is already a good sideboard card as it's great for getting rid of threats. This also exiles instead of destroys so it better deals with things that your opponent can retrieve from the graveyard.
or if you want to put it at 8cc at least it should be
flying
enter the battlefield or leave the battlefield exile target permanent.
7/7
oh well, at least the art is very attractive and i can buy 1 for collection only at $1
Angel of Despair saw two printings at a lower rarity and still maintains a $5 price tag. What makes you think that a mythic that exiles two permanents is going to be worth less? I can see this being a $20 mythic easily, with the foils somewhere around $80.

It won't be a staple 4-of in any Modern or Standard deck. Angels Commander printing doesn't really count for rarity, as it is pre-set for a very limited supply product. The Guildpact printing is Rare, from a small-set, but Magic has grown considerably since then, so it is severely supply constrained relative to the size of the current playerbase. Also, that's pre-NWO, so small-set Rare from then is about as Rare as a newer large-set Rare.
This was mentioned by Itanshi on page 7, but this card is a perfect representation of the Doors song, "Roadhouse Blues". Sing the snatch of the song that goes, "Ashen Lady, give up your vows///Save our city, right now", on her arrival to the battlefield.
Yet another case of color extraneity. This is black... how?
1) Black is generally associated with death triggers.
2) It's an homage to a black-white BW card. (With a little bit of Archon of Justice mixed in.)
3) It removes permanent types white doesn't get to anymore. (Lands, planeswalkers, and creatures unconditionally)
4) Permanent exiling removal is secondary in black.
It's not hard to see why this is black.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
GET IN TENEB NOW!!!!! The steed looks like the snow white German Shepard is use to have when I was a kid (a little less ferocious). I'm totally getting a foil.
Although I think you would need a recurring nightmare like enchantment that you can get with appeal to the gods. To make reainamtor really work.

Also, why does everyone assume people will run this OVER Angel of Serenity? You're not supposed to bank on a single type of threat in reanimator.
Maybe gifts has just spoiled me. Either way, I'm in love with this card. I never want to hard cast it, though.
Not in all decks though. Kaalia is still extremely popular. Just look at her price tag compared to all the precon commanders.
