Which is simply not true because all angels with probably single exceptions of Angelic Page which is also a spirit and Malach of the Dawn who is a male ONLY because he is plane/timeshifted and Time Spiral mishmash had nothing to do with flavor (there's still Gabriel Angelfire but he is counterbalanced by Lady Orca) are always referred to as female and they clearly look female, while only about half of demons are male, the rest being referred to as "it". I can easily say all the previous Archons were male and all Archons should always be male (wizards failed miserably with Ashen Rider), and all those Archons clearly look overwhelmingly more male than half of the demons that look just like generic humanoid (and part of them aren't even humanoid!) beasts.
im really asking myself, who told you that archons all must be male.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
Do you guys think a deck B/W/G running sylvan dryad, and other ramp such as crypt ghast, backed by removal, and other goodies like thoughseize ramping into this guy could be a thing?
Angel of Despair, with one more mana. I like the concept, I just wish they could've made it a bit more different, such as making it a 4/4 or something. It's almost strictly better, kind of like Heroes Downfall.
I get an overwhelming feeling this card does not belong.
Not only is it the only Mythic in Enemy Colors,
it's also the only Gold spell with two of each color symbol.
I suspect this was originally in RTR block (as an Angel), then got moved for some reason.
Or maybe the Selesnya Mythic was deemed too good in the wake of Voice so they just printed this instead?
Whatever the case is, I do really like the card,
despite how out-of-place it seems.

Has anyone pointed out that it is both night and day in the art? That is a pretty cool backdrop for a w/b card.
I didn't notice it until you pointed it out. I just assumed the background of the arch was "inside," but looking closer it is indeed night. That's pretty cool.

Evil is even, truth is an odd number, and death is a full stop.

Then it literally is NOT strictly better. Strictly better = identical in every way except X, and better at X. Either doing the same thing for less mana or doing more for the same mana. This does more but costs more, it cannot be strictly better.
But yeah, this is (non-strictly) better than angel of despair.

Actually, in this case I think it is Strictly Better. I mean, I don't see the allure of any situation in which you want AoD over Lion-O Ring

A) I want to kill something, and then reanimate it. Exiling prevents me from doing that.
B) I have seven lands/some larger amount of mana+something else to cast, and the cost matters.
As an EDH player, neither of these situations are exactly uncommon. I'll probably run Mr. Fluffles over AoD, but that's still a deckbuilding choice, not an automatic upgrade.

I dont think that is what is going on. As this archon is weilding a sickle, I imagine she represents some kind of reaper, typically in myth relating to gathering the dead. As such, she seems to be leaving the gate to the underworld. Would fit her flavor text and abilities as well if she were some kind od death reaper.

Awe-inspiring, great synergistic playmate to go with the in-block Rescue the Underworld and/or Gift of Immortality plus sac engine. Fantastic EDH reanimator card, and maybe other formats too.
First thing I thought when I saw this was, "Sweet, my Modern Venser blink deck just found a new way to piss people off." I.E. Endless blinks with or without Unburial Rites.
Mana cost is a bit too high for Standard though.

Lol I don't think they can breed. Archons are "mystical, celestial beings".

It's strictly better in a lot of cases since you usually don't want to hardcast either card.
Somebody didn't read the thread.
This phrase made me giggle.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
