Scry shouldn't be underestimated. I don't think it is enough to justify a shift to rare, but the ability to filter draws for free is very potent. The design feels lazy and overly cautious, but these will be played and they will make an impact.
People seem to be undervaluing draw smoothing built into a color-fixing land drop. I'll gladly take everyone's copies of these off their hands, since they're so offended.
And gods damn, the art in this set is gorgeous!
I totally agree:D Hoping to get cheap trades for them at pre-release:P

The art is very good but the effect just doesn't seem rare.
It's not that the card is powerful or underpowered it's that traditonally these type of cards have not been rare. I actually like that these are the lands we will be using in block because I likely a slower format. I'm not going to like paying two ticks a piece for card that slightly better than guildgate.
The best use I can think of is there are cards that trigger when you scry, I saw at least one or two of them in the spoilers so hopefully there's more. Unless there's bounceback lands like in previous sets coming up.
As with pretty much all the rest of the set I give these a definitive "meh". On the other hand, recent design has made MtG one of the cheapest hobbies that I have now. I've spent less than $10 on each of the last 3 sets and nothing about this set indicates that it will be different. The lame dual cycle is just another indication that we're seeing Kamigawa 2.0 but without the few standout awesome cards. I'm just glad I don't play $tandard so I don't have to buy this schlock for $5+ each only to have them become absolutely worthless after they rotate.
These are the worst cards EVER in this or any game.
I scryed 1 and the top card of my library was cancer.
I'm going to kill myself and then quit Magic.
People complaining about how "bad" these are need to better research the math involved with the game.
Being able to scry for FREE is an amazing upside. Yes, you will have to think about how to make your manabase work, instead of auto-including all relevant dual lands, but that is okay.
The best thing about these lands is that... well, that they give players actual options. No longer will newer players be forced to shell out even more money in order to have decent mana; instead, these lands appeal to those who can understand the nuances of scry.
Throw one more "these lands should not be rare" comment onto the pile. Honestly I feel like these are about as disappointing as opening a lace would have been back in Alpha.

So, I guess this covers the Future Sight card made new hint from earlier?

Shame the rare land cycle for the block is so damn bad though. Can't really think of any lands I would cut in Lazav for one of these, much as I would like to run a foil of Temple of Deceit (due to name and art, plus scry is kinda nice), but the only lands I run that always ETB tapped have much better utility than scry 1 provides (Bog exiles a yard, Tar Pit is unblockable, Tolaria West is a tutor, etc.)
What a shamefully mercenary move by Wizards. I feel cheated having to spend serious money on playsets of these. I understand that when you want to play Magic semi-competitively, it costs money, but I want to at least be wasting money on cards that are powerful in their environment. These lands should be uncommon on power level.
I really hope the hate train keeps rolling on these so I can hoard them for cheap right after release. Lands that fix your draws for you are being massively underrated.
Like several others are saying, these AREN'T bad lands, they just have rarity issues. However, we had "Tribal" lands from Lorwyn that weren't so hot either(although they COULD come in untapped). Just saying, this isn't the first time they've printed lands at too high of a rarity. Lastly, having these at uncommon for Limited would suck...
In the same way you can tell someone is from the XVIII century because he is arroused by ankles, you can tell someone is from USA because he feels nipples disturbing.
Also, did anyone else notice that these have basic land types as well?

On topic, I'm rather irritated that I may have to use Rakdos Guildgate for standard Rakdos aggro as the deck doesnt function nearly as well without at least 10 black sources maindeck and prefers to cast Ash Zealot on curve. Maybe I should cut Zealot?
Edit: Swamp is a card too I guess, but thats not exciting at all.
Definitely doesn't feel rare though... Not spending 4 bucks on a guild gate that can scry 1...
LOL, you got me to do a double take. I was hoping so hard....
