Wait, was this their official preview card? It seems strange to accidentally find a card for preorder that hasn't been "spoiled" yet. Does SCG and other online retailers have the entire set beforehand or something?
Also, another semi-interesting Heroic card that would be far more interesting if we had decent heroic enablers. Man, I'm really wishing buyback was in this block.
lol me too. I didn't actually believe myself when I first found him about 10 mins ago. I was browsing the pre-order price and arranging plans to decide which pre-release events to attend with my buddies.
Because you can't have a thread in the Rumor Mill without complaining about something.
Let me just say, for the record, that I love this card, it's really powerful, it totally fits my play style, and I enjoy how WotC isn't completely ruining the tension of heroic by printing buyback or any other ability that trivializes heroic.

Now back to the complaints...
I don't want buyback, I just want a few good instants or sorceries that can target my creatures.
I'm curious: without using mechanics not in the set, what's your ideal 'heroic enabler?'
Cheap pump-spells, cheap auras with immediate impact, suras that can bounce themselves, and other stuff like that. Return to Ravnica has a lot of those, but I am still working for some cards to use at the prerelease to help out Heroic.
Something that is cheap and offers utility, or an enchant that bounces itself?
Instant speed buffs that cantrip or very cheap bestow critters would be pretty great too.
Gotta say, a part of me reaaaaaally wants to flash in a Boon Satyr on this guy in response to opp trying to burn him with one creature over on their side of the court. hhhhhhnnnnngnnn
Interesting, now if only we have those heroic enablers then this card could be a thing. Also this a bit more different than the other Heroic cards and more powerful, making your own creature stronger at the same time having removal so eliminating defenders and your opponents other creatures. Heck you can trigger heroic during your battlephase, pump this opponents sacs a creature.
#1 - What's the dumbest idea you ever had?
#2 - 15/15 for 15?
#1 - Make it dumber
#2 - Give it protection from removal and counter?
#1 - DUMBER!
#2 - Add Timewalk?
#1 - DAMN IT MAN, I SAID DUMB!! DUMB !!!
#2 - It destroys everything when it attacks.... And wait, I have a friend who plays mill decks... I want to beat him too.
#1 - Excellent! Recess is over, go back and learn sex-ed with the other 6th graders.
By far the best heroic ability yet(possibly excluding the Merfolk), that is also at a decent cost. This guy could actually see play, but Boon Satyr is still the only card is see using for Heroic from this block.
He's a black mage that's black. That's pretty awesome. Racial diversity for the win!
WotC, please hire me already.

Actually, it's tertiary in black.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Cubetutor Link
Except, yes it is. Black is tertiary for first strike. It's not one of the main colors for it but it's allowed to have it once in awhile.

Lifebane Zombie would like a word.

Nope, its an ability not a spell.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
What can I say? The Innistrad / RtR meta and its abundance of competitive instants and sorceries couldn't last forever.
Time to play Auras!
I know it's not in ideal colors, but krasis incubation might be a good enabler for the heroic deck?
That what i figured but i wasn't sure
Awesome flavour
Great stuff
At least the white one has better flavour text!
Fabled Hero is a 1 mana uncommon
This is a three mana rare
why are they being compared?
Too expensive. You want to get multiple triggers a turn.
