{rueful chuckle} Yet again, I wouldn't mind seeing if WoTC can come up with a standard with NO broken cards. (Doesn't "broken" mean "they shouldn't have done it like this"?) Or at least, an environment where matches that take 8 turns per side on average are the norm.
Back to the point, I'm thinking about how the new precepts and keywords are going to work here. Bestow's effectively a way to skirt Day of Judgment & Co. Especially since you don't have to worry about it not having haste--it doesn't flicker from aura to creature, it just becomes a creature through state-based situations. While Devotion sounds like strict monocolor tendency from the Abhorrent Overlord, I could see cards that compare two different devotions, whether yours or the opponents. And I'm sure Monstrous and Heroic have already been discussed. (Now if I could remember what the other--if any--new precepts were...)
Monstrosity is going to be as bad as Level up for ccompetitive play. Even for all that mana i rather cast something else. Look at that overcosted mess! For just vanilla creatures!? I am afraid though of a mythic bestow card. It takes the stigma of auras away when your opponent targets the creature u want to enchant. I like it. Hopefully other colors get it.
These are instant speed abilities, which makes a huge difference. Though I do agree, so far Monstrosity is rather overcosted despite the instant speed.
I think we haven't seen the pushed Monstrosity creatures yet. Polukranos, to me, is too hard to tell how good/bad he is yet, but the ones from tonight are rather meh.

I love the mechanics, but I hope that an enchantment matters block doesn't make it enchantment matters by throwing it on other permanent types. So far all these abilities don't want you to play other enchantments (opposed to, say, SoM, where the abilities encouraged you to play other artifacts).

For competitive I can agree, but those abilities will be murder in limited.

Unfortunately all cards revealed so far are only good in limited. I hope we will see the good stuff at PAX. Flavorwise it's cool, but nothing strikes me as even good. The black demon has potential, but it's costly, so probably won't be played (T2).
That, and you know what they say. If Wizards started shipping $100 bills in boosters tomorrow, people would scream and cry and whine that they were folded the wrong way.

Here's the thing, though: everything we've seen with Monstrosity so far has been pretty darn efficient for its CMC. When's the last time red got a 4/5 for 4? 5/5 for 4 on Polukranos is perfectly cromulent, and blue doesn't get a ton of 6/6s for 6. They're probably going to end up like level up creatures, in that the most efficient ones will be not just playable, but good (think Kargan Dragonlord). Don't look at it as "boy, that ability is overcosted" but instead as "boy, that creature is efficient and the ability is just gravy."
Bestow is the best thing to happen to Auras since Totem Armor. Krond the Dawn-Clad EDH decks will love this ability. Liking that harpies are in; it'll be so nice to have a set full of flavorful creatures instead of the typical "there are elves and goblins everywhere" garbage. This is two of the last three blocks now where we've gone without either, and that pleases me.

When it escaped, the experimenters hesitated. It would cause untold havoc, yet they wished to see it in action.

Definitely not the worst intro pack rares and I am enjoying that we will have harpies back and the harpy tokens.

I also like the Kraken way, way better than Polukranos (or the red guy) for EDH.

Nah, the Kraken is terrible, no way you get to keep the guy for a turn once it goes monstrous. For the cost it's not worth it at all.
Red guy is actually pretty decent in EDH, but man are you a jerk for playing him.
EDIT: Reread Red Guy, the thing is crap too.

GPolukranos, Kill ALL the Things!G
It could be W/U/G, since the G symbol could just blend into the background, but at least we know there's no R or B...
