"Devotion clause"
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, ~ deals 2 damage to each opponent. 2R: Each creature you control gains +1/+0 until end of turn.
Nylea + Bow give the super-powered combo of Deathtouch+trample to all of your other creatures.
Heliod makes vigilant tokens, so we'll see how his spear feed into that.
Porphoros's hammer makes 3/3 golems, gives creatures haste, and sacrafices lands. The synergy could be in any of those data points (Giving other creatures first strike, having a hellrider attack trigger, or doing something with sacraficed lands.)
Heliod makes vigilant tokens, so we'll see how his spear feed into that.
With first strike, probably. That is what spears do.

you can generally tell the easiest road to victory by how many players congregate on it; and the road of counterspells/control has been the freeway of choice in magic for quite some time.

What I find offensive is not that Wizards is endeavoring to make the game more accessible, but the attitudes of elitists who act as though no one of any age should show their face in the Magic public without first having mastery over the complexities of the game.
If I have this right, that means 5 pm central time. I'm very excited to see this one in particular. I doubt he'll have the same ability as his Hammer, so no more Golems. 2R for the ability is intriguing.. Considering we had 3G for +2/+2 I'm not getting my hopes up for three mana. Fingers crossed it isn't a simple ping (1 damage).
Red has long been behind white when it comes to artifacts and I feel like it should get some artifact love. I mean "forge," right?
I think his static ability will be Hellrider. And the activated ability could be multi-firebreathing aka Moonveil Dragon. That would work very well with the haste his hammer provides and the creatures it makes.

OOOH, I like this.
"Whenever a creature you control attacks it deals 1 damage to the defending player."
2R: Creatures you control get +1/0 until the end of the turn.
But can we have it at 2R or 3R cc please? Not likely
Its not gonna happen, but I would love to see a Crucible of Worlds effect on him.
Jebus, that'd be OP as hell and I would run the heck out of that god/weapon combo.

Personality: To sit in the presence of Purphoros is to be inspired. He forges the most ornate and delicate items only to dash them into flame and start again. He is reasonable yet ultimately follows no rules save his own creative and destructive impulses. Sometimes, this can mean covering a whole area with lava to make way for something new. His main flaw is that of frustration, of feeling limited and constrained. He is forever pushing against the barriers of mortal imagination, sensing that there is much more to express. This can cause him to plummet into despondency and then lash out at the world with raw destruction.
It would be cool if he puts equiptments in play like spears
Hell, ANY good interaction with artifacts/equipment would be a major plus in my book.
The flavor we've gotten for him all but demands it, and so does my Godo deck.

Possibly destroys artifacts or to be able to destroy enchantments if we are really
pushing against the barriers of mortal imagination
He might destroy an artifact/enchantment for a ritual based effect.
A repeatable VFO or Pyroclasm is pretty bonkers, I highly doubt that this is it.
We know his hammer destroys mountains, I would not be surprised if his activated ability just put a mountain back into play from the graveyard, or fetched them from the library and put them into you hand.
His static could very well be Doublestrike. I would hope anyways.
So far another feature of weapon/god interaction is that you can curve them next to each other. So you can go bow nylea or thassa bident, so maybe his cost is either 2, highly unlikely, or 4.

"A scrupulous writer, in every sentence that he writes, will ask himself at least four questions, thus: 1. What am I trying to say? 2. What words will express it? 3. What image or idiom will make it clearer? 4. Is this image fresh enough to have an effect? And he will probably ask himself two more: 1. Could I put it more shortly? 2. Have I said anything that is avoidably ugly?"

I can't imagine anti-synergy with his Hammer is going to happen.

No, but from the looks of it, each weapon synergizes with each god in some way.
Thassa + Bident helps trigger the bident thrugh Thassa's activated ability.
Nylea + Bow give the super-powered combo of Deathtouch+trample to all of your other creatures.
Heliod makes vigilant tokens, so we'll see how his spear feed into that.

Yes.
? = As long as your devotion to red is less than 5 ~ etc. . .
? = Creatures you control get +2/+0 (and have first strike maybe? Mountainwalk?).
2R: Target mountain becomes a 3/3 elemental enchantment creature with haste.

Thassa CMC = 3 = Jace Belern CMC = 3
Nylea/Heliod CMC = 4 = Garruk/Ajani CMC(s) = 4
So theoretically:
Purforos CMC = 5 = Chandra Nalaar CMC = 5
Erebros CMC = 5 = Liliana Vess CMC = 5
As of right now 3:5 of the revealed gods so far have the same CMC number as to when the first five walkers were revealed.
Jebus, that'd be OP as hell and I would run the heck out of that god/weapon combo.

single target shock (or, dare i say it.... a bolt)? seems good for being repeatable at 3 mana
pyroclasm? (seems too good at 3 mana) perhaps a 1 damage version of pyroclasm?
