Instant is soooo much better than Sorcery though, and this is splashable.
With Dreadbore you may have to choose between it and some spicy 4 drop on your turn. With this you may be able to kill their walker on their turn.
In my opinion this is an order of magnitude better than Dreadbore.
Depends on the deck you're playing. For some decks, turn three can be more important than turn four. If you leave mana up for this, then it means you're not casting something else that might be necessary to cast, like a threat of your own.

Well, me thinks UB is going to be top dog for a bit. This card answers its glaring weakness to both PW'ers and to creatures who dodge UP/Doom Blade/Warped Physique, that this card just answers cleanly @ instant. Of course, we still don't have a cheap cantrip, but I think we can make up for that with our good package of removal until we cast Sphinx's and Opportunity.
P.S., THE MEDOMAI PROPHECIES CAME TRUE. Let us acknowledge TrollCreature as a prophet of our people and draft our holy scriptures around his divine revelations.
The Satyr is a better Slaughterhorn who happens to aid in evolving Experiment One/Gyre Sage and gives Mono-Green another creature resilient to mass Monster Removal. I definitely think Mono-Green will be a player post-rotation.
I'm usually in the "this shouldn't be mythic/rare" camp, but with this card, I think rare is warranted. Planeswalkers, all mythics, are very powerful and unique cards and I think killing one outright should feel special. It's odd that this is coming so soon after RTR block, but I guess it fits Theros thematically.
The satyr is the first constructed playable bestow card. Hopefully not the last! It's disappointing to me that Maro's article makes it sound as though bestow creatures in the next two sets will also be identical to their stats. I was hoping this would be a mechanic that grew over the course of the block. (like imagine a fatty with an alternate tiny bestow cost/pump, or vice-versa.)
okay while that makes sense the thing is that it should only feel special in limited. because in standard, in modern, in legacy, even in casual, rarity doesn't matter at all.
in limited planeswalkers are mythics which means they dont' show up hardly ever. yes. that means you want it to feel great when you manager to destroy your opponents stupidwalkerextremeomgwin card, but its not going to happen very often anyway.
Oh boy, another Dreadbore...so in other words, they ran out of ideas after coming up with the flavorful enchantment theme.
Alternatively, not every card is made by the design team. Developement has the ability to say "We need this in the set for the limited/standard environment" and barring totally a ridiculous card and design and creative just have to grin and make it fit.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)

so no matter what it ends up being special.
ok, sure, but you just justified why it makes sense at rare. a card can't be rare for limited only and uncommon for standard. (until they come up with special limited-only packs for opening in drafts or something like that)
i'll say what everyone is thinking. new murder should've been uncommon. just like dreadbore.
Umm, Dreadbore is RARE, not uncommon, bud. Also, no way could it possibly be uncommon. They already bumped Doom Blade to Uncommon and it only kills nonblack creatures. This is a strictly better version of Murder.
It's good to see them pushing Bestow a little. I'd like to see some lower bestow costs still (with accordingly lower buffs), but this guy is very playable.
Dreadbore was a RB rare that did the same thing, but at sorcery speed. So for BB1 instead of BR, you get instant speed AND the same choices, so yes, it justifies it being a rare.
Literally nobody is thinking that.
A card that destroys a planeswalker will probably not be uncommon.
He wouldn't have been anyways Almost as bad a PW as Tibalt.

Jk, but seriously, that Medomai's real.
Easy sale for this UB player.
