Well, you could have done that with any cheap double strike creature like Fencing ace...
You could even switch turn 3 for turn 4 an play hexproof.
All very fun if you draw the cards and your opponent is a goldfish.
Fencing Ace required a very specific draw to kill on turn 3. This guy can kill on turn 3 with any number of different cards.
Heroic triggers when you cast the spell - how many times said spell targets the creature is irrelevant. So he gets 1 from his ability, and then 2 more from common bond, not 4.
Also I just realized how utterly bonkers the Nylea's ordeal is with this guy (or Experiment One). You can be super aggressive AND fetch lands simultaneously now... that's really, really scary. Hello aggro decks dropping Archangel of Thune on T3 without using mana dorks!
Right right. 3 is still pretty damn strong. 5/5 double strike that early is nothing to sneer at.

for those wanting good heroic enablers, hidden strings it's the way to go, it activates 4 times heroics (if you have two creatures) the turn you play it, and then 2 times each turn, givin your two creatures pseudo vigilance
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
I dont think its bad alongside purphoros. The +2/+0 is very relevant with doublestrike. If you manage to stick an ordeal on this guy you are going to be swinging in for 8, 10, 12.
I think this is a good card, and can be even better if you do some things with it in other colors. Not like the double cost is that hard in this environment.
I still want to see this:

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
Heroic has a lot of potential, but +1/+1 counters are bland.
They are probably doing what they did in Zendikar... landfall only granted +2/+2 in the first set, but by Worldwake, landfall triggers were doing other things.
If you think about it, it seems like a huge waste to use some of your burn dmg to pump this guy. Honestly major disapointment after silverblade paladin. For the cmc heoic for 1 counter(at the cost of the trigger card too). Seems so much worse then adding double strike to a creature that can already swing the turn you drop your paladin.
On the other hand, Silverblade Paladin's double strike was conditional. This isn't. I don't know how many times the partner of the silver blade was killed as it was played.
And agreed using 1/3 of the burn spell just to pump this or some other Heroic beater isn't the best, but in Magic Christmas land, you might get three Heroic triggers from one spell and that's efficient.
I'm going to be the one who goes here, don't kill me everyone. But him and something like Boon Satyr could be fun, bringing him up to a 7/5 doublestriker. And if he dies, then you still get a 4/2. Could be worst things to do with your satyr. I mean, 14 damage from a single source isn't too bad at turn 5 if it sticks (magical land of things actually working in mind)
Forced Adaptation might just become a thing with this guy... part of the problem with that card is it doesn't give a counter right away, but his Heroic trigger negates that and then he just continues to grow more and more.

but.... we REALLY need some cheap spells we want to cast on our guys to make this work...
come on wizards!
The card itself is pretty amazing, too. Maybe I'll get to play monowhite in MTGO Block Constructed after all.

Alternatively, a silly GW thing with Daily Regimen, Travel Preparations, and Doubling Season.
Slow and perhaps overkillish, but that is just fine for many kitchen tables.
It may also show up in some Uril, the Miststalker EDH decks as a backup...
Cheers!
