Gak. The card design is boring like a sledge hammer. Dull when you look at it, but terrifying when used to deliver a righteous and proper beat down. The only thing he lacks is some sort of evasion. Good thing there are lots of ways to give cards evasion. Yeah, you know what's gonna piss me off in casual, legacy, and commander? This guy + Mother of Runes.
People who play white can officially bite me. I'm tired of white, white/green, white/red, and Naya.

No need to worry about this, Wizards castrated the heroic ability by making it only trigger when the creature is targeted by spells, not abilities, so mother doesn't do a whole lot for this guy.

Thanks for pointing that out. The card seems less oppressive now. Still. It's going to be a heavy, blunt instrument for cracking skulls that I'm going to be tired of seeing...
I wish you were right, but I think this card is just not Silverblade Paladin (and obviously quite far from Mirran Crusader)
It doesn't need to be Silverblade to be playable. This is playable without new heroic enablers, there's already enough in the format. It's certainly the worst 2/2 3CMC double strike card so far but that doesn't mean a whole lot.
Hes....hes....hes an action figure!
Ho ho. Yes. But you haveny become....a hero.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
To those saying all the counter triggers on heroic cards are boring, I think a number of them have that ability to play well with the ordeals. Great flavor in that heroic creatures finish their trials far quicker than normal creatures.

They had to do something, or some of the heroic cards would be stupidly good.

“A man's at odds to know his mind cause his mind is aught he has to know it with. He can know his heart, but he dont want to. Rightly so. Best not to look in there. It aint the heart of a creature that is bound in the way that God has set for it. You can find meanness in the least of creatures, but when God made man the devil was at his elbow. A creature that can do anything. Make a machine. And a machine to make the machine. And evil that can run itself a thousand years, no need to tend it.”
― Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian, or the Evening Redness in the West
They stole its flavor text from a line in Scorpion King.
You make that sound like a bad thing.
Decent creature, all in all. Might not make the cut in Standard, but it'll be potent in Limited.
Oh, and if anyone has failed to figure it out yet, White's Heroic triggers are all +1/+1 counter related (except for Anax and Cymede). I wouldn't be surprised to see another 1 or 2 at Common, depending how many spots are available.
Also, Heroic had to trigger only for spells, otherwise "en-Kor" creatures would let you trigger them infinitely, and thus it would be broken.

Would that be more a testament to the potency of Heroes or of those Ordeals?
Slap on a Forced Adaptation and Alpha Authority and you're in business though - immediately becomes a 5/5 Hexproof that's going to continually grow bigger.
Guy seems fine. I will say, on his flavor text, as clever as it is... Ancient Greek poets didn't write things down; they recited their epics orally. FLAVOR MISS!!!!! haha cool card all around though.
Silverblade Paladin does more damage with other creatures, Fabled Hero does more damage with pump spells, Mirran Crusader is better at getting it's damage though.
They all seem roughly the same power to me.
There's definitely a hierarchy, but it isn't as defined in Standard as people seem to think it is.
This guy can be powerful with right cards in GW see Metagame:
T1 - Temple Garden, Elvish Mystic
T2 - Plains, This guy
T3 - Ordeal of Nylea or Giant Growth (1 counter), oponnent response Doomblade!
u cast Ranger's Guile (2 counters), attack then activate ordeal
(3 counters) Fabled Hero total is 6/6 or 8/8.
12dmg in T3 and 2 basic lands or 16dmg pure is not good?

While this is true, that's really not all that magical of an outcome. It requires drawing two creatures and a land you're probably playing four each of, another white source, and two pumps you're, again, probably playing some amount of density of.

If it isn't obviously borken it's just not good enough for the netdeckers

Really, can we think before we post folks?
Well, it's simply the very much renown spawn of some god/goddess with a mortal. There's no need for this to be legendary, flavorwise.
Fabled Hero is somewhat disappointing and mundane, but it's reasonable.
.
Not Silverblade Paladin? Last time I checked, SP loses double strike if his buddy leaves play - no such issues for the Hero.
Have Fun.
