oh, just saw that his monstrosity costs only 6. which means you can make him a 9/9 on the next turn, which kills a big flyer of the opponent upon activation..
i kinda think this really could see standard play in some kind of mono green ramp or something.
You played JESUS?!?! I heard none of his guys stay in the graveyard, and once you think you have him beat he ALWAYS comes back to win within three turns. I like...WORSHIP him.
Playable Titan-esque creature is playable! All he's missing is Trample.
Strictly better than Silklash Spider, which saw play.
Strictly better, this is not. That said, this is a pretty cool card. I like to imagine his monstrosity as throwing a tree at a dude, and then picking up another one to beat people with.
Welp, certainly a limited bomb. There is no doubt about that. Not sure if it will make constructed, but with the heavy green cost it just may if devotion becomes a thing.
He's going to be nasty with Nylea in play, 9/9 trample? and in a mono or mostly green you can have Nylea out turn 3 or 4 this guy out turn 5 turn 6 you're swinging for 14 minimum 9 of which is trample
That, and you know what they say. If Wizards started shipping $100 bills in boosters tomorrow, people would scream and cry and whine that they were folded the wrong way.
This guy is great for block to deal with Thundermaw junior in non RG decks and can certainly help GW get there. In standard I think there are just better options but still a good card.
I love this guy---reminds me of my beloved monogreen Urza's block fatties.
And talk about devotion city... 6/6 for 5 with three devotion! And gets bigger. Madness. I love it.

that's not what happened at all. kamahl stabbed phage, akroma, and some old lady and they became korona. then korona got stabbed by her "prophets" and kamahl got drunk with a mutant centaur
5 cmc for a 6/6 is a respectable body just by itself. Making it Green means your going to drop it much sooner than turn 5. It's Monstrosity is only 1 more mana than it's CMC, meaning you have a 9/9 turn 6 at the latest. On top of this, you can destroy a Flyer if there is any.
Also, it can eat the new Thundermaw replacement easily. Hell, it can flat out destroy it if it isn't already monstrous.

I remember when Colossus of Sardia was the biggest thing I had ever seen. If you had shown me this card back then, I would have **** my pants and started running away, just from the sheer surprise of seeing it.
This guy is above the curve and great on defense OR offense. His Monstrous is reasonably costed and can generate some pseudo card advantage if you happen to be facing fliers. Reach is what really makes the difference between this guy and stuff like Vorapede and Deadbridge Goliath (though I still think poor Vorapede should have seen more constructed play).
If you're in the market for a green fatty, this is a great green fatty to have available.
I think Reach makes a pretty significant difference here. He's a great top-deck no matter if you're ahead or behind because he can attack and block equally well. It's just too bad this guy didn't get to coexist with Thundermaw Hellkite in Standard.
There's also some utility to him with his Monstrous ability, so he isn't just a big body.
His playability is going to depend somewhat on how many playable flying creatures there are in the format, but he's definitely got potential.

Starting to think that winning games on the backs of 2/2s, 3/3s and 4/4s is over.

Turn 2 - Sylvan Carytid
Turn 3 - Nylea
Turn 4 - Arbor Colossus, Nylea - online
Turn 5 - 9/9 trample, reach, kill a flyer
Turn 6 - Get ready for the Nylea pump
Edit: You could get 6/6 Arbor out turn 3 and play Nylea 4, that way you get a 6/6 reach blocker online by turn 3.

Yes, because a GREEN creature with greater power/toughness than a vanilla test has never existed. Ever.
