Because I'm pretty sure there aren't any Faeries on Theros.
i dunno... it is based on the ancient greeks...
uh but anyway i agree with him, i hate the new art and the old art was better. they could've picked something better to be on such an iconic and powerful card than such poopy art.
She is a wrath effect, not a wrath. Remember that when you are staring down an aggressive board of dorks and realizing all she does is throw out chumps.
Really? There really are NOT loads of ways for all colors. Black has exactly one in Mark of the Vampire, green has Giant Growth and maybe Ranger's Guile, depending on the creature. Red has Thunder Strike and what has show of Valor. I don't even mention blue, because it's ways of dealing with it deal with any enchant creature :p. Believe it or not, Domestication sticks a lot more than you think.
Which is the weakness of said color? That is the risk you take when going with colors that don't have removal of a certain type. Man it sucks that Green doesn't have Leaf Blade to kill nongreen creatures! Or Black to have Rust Blade to kill artifacts!
Also don't give me that crap about NWO needing to keep more complicated cards to be at a higher rarity to protect the new players. Try telling someone new how to resolve Goblin Test Pilot with a bunch of creatures on the field. People in Limited should be expected to deal with problems the same way people in Constructed do... by freaking DEALING WITH IT! "Wahhh this card is overpowered!" bump it up to a higher rarity so that people have a hard time putting it in there deck.
I really don't like how the removal is slowly going higher and higher in rarity because people in limited don't like getting their stuff blown up.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.

Rangers guile actually doesn't work because you need to target a creature you control. Domestication actually works rather well considering it only falls off at the beginning of your end step, not any end step, which people always seem to forget.
When it was announced that theros would revolve around enchantments I didn't realize that artifacts would get the short end of the stick. 52 leaked cards and not a single artifact. I know there are legendary enchantment artifacts, but thats BS, those are enchantments, wizard seems to be adding the flavor of enchantment artifact just to keep artifact lovers happy, but it ain't working...

There is at least one artifact creature in the set that is a wooden horse (at least, it APPEARS to be).
I think I'm in love with the set Timmy Elspeth, gorgeous art for Rescue from Underworld, less weird art for Thoughtseize, and flavor, man, flavor everywhere!
I really hope fateseal shows up somewhere in this block. It would be a flavorful keyword for a Greek mythology themed block and has literally been on two cards. Spin into Myth would be great, flavor-wise if not competitively

Maro said that fateseal is one of the most "unfun and violating" mechanic they've ever made. I wouldn't count on it coming back.
I think the only one that I'm not totally sold on is the new Elspeth iteration - aside from my general complaint that they should have made new 'walkers the focus instead of rehashing old ones (I mean, really, what's Elspeth doing on Theros?), her abilities seem to clash. If you play her -7 before her -3, you'll be in danger of crushing a lot of your own creatures. If you play the -3 first, you'll be waiting several turns before you can do the -7 to give your guys the boost. Just seem to be sort of at cross-purposes.
I'm really, really digging the god weapons - I'm a big Boros player and will definitely be getting Hammer of Purphoros when it comes out. The god cards are fascinating, they tiptoe around the mechanics very nicely - indestructible, and if you have the requisite devotion, they become no longer creatures. How do you kill indestructible enchantments? Back to Nature, etc., are all going to see more play; but, at the same time, if this is an enchantment-heavy block, most everyone will probably be running enchantments of some kind - which means Back to Nature would hurt you just as much as your opponents. I was wondering how they would use the mechanics to impart the "god" flavor - i'd been thinking they would have to do indestructible AND hexproof. But this is very nice. Neatly done, Wizards.

"The sword blazed bright as he held it high, filling him with righteous might." - Book 4, Tome of Kor-Nevan
Elspeth would have been amazing if its 2nd ability was "Destroy all non-token creatures" but it's not. Not sure it will find a spot in my EDH deck as I would have to remove something like Martial Coup and I have a lot of < 4 power generals in my meta that still need to be handled.
My own rules when building a Commander deck:
1) Underrated general that I can build around but the deck must work without him/her too.
2) Every card must be legal in both banlists.
3) No infinite combo that could win (and ruin) instantly a multiplayer game.
4) Synergy at all costs; stay on theme, avoid goodstuff.

She'll get played but I don't think she's as powerful as everyone thinks she is.
