as said, the upper part of the frame has a different pattern than the usual frame. if you saw some of the artwork for Theros, you'd seen the "stars" pattern - aka - Nyx.
the foil adds some shininess which makes it look really nice.

These are "god" weapons... Hence the enchantment on the type line.
According to the lore, all enchantments in Theros are seen as from the Gods. So does that mean all enchantments will have the new frame? Or all enchantment artifacts? That is the question.

Yes, I'm well aware of that frame. Previously it was indicated it was a "god" card frame, so it's a revelation to see it on other, non-"god" cards. The question is exactly what cards qualify for this new frame and what cards do not.
According to the lore, all enchantments in Theros are seen as from the Gods.
I don't think it's all enchantmentsm Ordeal of Purphoros is recreating the flavor of a dude facestabbing a hellhound to death.
It's just that Magic of the Gods is very noticable (the starry patterns where shadows should be) and from that, Therans are able to notice when a God has used Magic.
Three, there is no way in hell you can definitely say whether or not this will make an impact on standard without seeing how the environment shapes up.
Hmm... I don't really like this card. One, it feels like it should really be an equipment, but isn't. Two, it has an ability normally reserved for red for no good reason. (Alluring Siren was acceptable for flavor reasons.) Plus, it's adding colored artifacts to a block that already has more than enough themes. Also, there seems to be some sort of faction-like element indicated by the watermark. Are the godly factions really that important to the block? If this weren't fairly officially confirmed, I'd be calling fake.
The gods themselves are living enchantments. For this reason, all enchantments are thought to be gifts from the gods—a unique form of magic enabled by divinities.
Ordeal of Purphoros is recreating the flavor of a dude facestabbing a hellhound to death.
It should be noted we haven't seen the Theros version of that card yet, so we don't know if it will get a starry frame or not. I don't think it should, but again, that's the question: what qualifies for a starry frame and what doesn't.
I'm pretty sure starry frames are just going to be on on the enchantment creatures and enchantment artifacts. Putting them on every enchantment in the set seems a little excessive.
Also, I'd put money Ordeal of Purphoros being from a cycle of auras that are based on the Greek hero's trials (see: Hercules).
They said they didn't like doing mythic promos because it diluted their numbers and took away the mystique of them being mythic in the first place.
Which I think is dumb. >:I
It's also a very good point: something isn't special if everybody has it.
I agree that it's too bad that we don't get crazy powerful cards for free anymore but we still get something for free so why not be happy about free stuff rather than complain about how the free stuff used to be better?
Why is everyone saying that the second ability is red? We have many examples of more blue cards that make opposing creatures attack, and it even makes sense flavorfully. It's easy for me to imagine a blue mage messing with his opponent's creatures minds and making them rush into battle. Red's way of doing this is threating them.
It is red. Flavorwise, you instill fury to the creatures making them attack.
Historically, it also has been blue (Siren's Call), and apparantly it is still.
The reason I am disliking it is that it does not fit that flavor of Thassa as explained in the Planeswalker's guide. Nothins states about her involves combat or war. Either the guide is incomplete is there is a complete flavor mismatch.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.

Yeah, what happened to the days when we got Ajani Vengeant as a promo?
Considering that Sirens are from Greek mythology and they were ladies of the sea who lured sailors
and Thessa is the God of the sea
this card seems VERY flavorful
as long as you understand flavor that is
might even see a Alluring Siren reprint

Whether or not they believe something to be the case doesn't necessarily make it true.
I was more referring to the fact that cards in this block that are enchantments in addition to another type are definitively of Godly origin.
so I asked MaRo on Tumblr:
Hi MaRo! Theros looks awesome! Q: you said that the new frame represents Enchantment Creatures but "Bident of Thassa" isn't a creature but has the new frame. I assume all Enchantments are printed that way? - is this going to be an evergreen feature for enchantment going onwards? Thx!
and got this answer (which is quite vague regarding the future post-Theros block Enchantment cards)
You are correct. The new frames are permanents that have two types, one of which is enchantment. Enchantment artifacts do get the frame.
I assume future Enchantment cards (even in Theros) will not bear the new frame if they're not dual-type cards.

I saw that, was that the first time Wizards publicly confirmed Bident of Thassa? Or has it been officially confirmed somewhere else?
If you got him to confirm a card early, then Bravo.

I hesitated before posting the question for this reason exactly, but I thought to myself that this card is already confirmed due to the FNM poster, so.. I got luck I guess
and trust me, this card is more than confirmed
Evil is boring. The universe is friendly. Life is on your side. Joy is your birthright. Cynicism is idiotic. Fear is a bad habit. Despair is lazy. In fact, all of creation wants you to succeed. Act as if the universe is a prodigious miracle created for your amusement and illumination. Assume that secret helpers are working behind the scenes to assist you in turning into the gorgeous masterpiece you were born to be. . . Life always gives you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
Yes, but you have to be careful, as to not cause another Urza's Block situation.
We haven't had that situation since Urza's block! Urza's problem wasn't the push for non creature strategies - it was the sheer number of busted cards. How many cards from that set have been banned or restricted at some point?
i don't think your complaint (seemingly based on one single card) has any strong basis. you seem to be making generalisations about the whole set's focus based on one card. that's... uh... kinda weak, dude.
This wasn't the first card spoiled, but I've been around a while so call it a hunch. Many cards later, it's worse looking that I'd thought. Almost nothing so far has any synergy with enchantments! Commune with the Gods is the closest we get, and that has as much synergy with creatures as with enchantments.

Nope, actually Theros is getting more gold cards than the usual block.
Keep in mind the usual block has maybe ten gold cards from all three sets combined. Tops.

It could be a bomb in limited, but it will never see real constructed play.
Whats with Hasbro giving us 'filler' cards as promos these days?
One, not everyone cares about tournament play.
Two, Diregraf Ghoul, Strangleroot Geist, Dryad Militant. We frequently get playable cards, it's just not a universal constant.
Three, there is no way in hell you can definitely say whether or not this will make an impact on standard without seeing how the environment shapes up.
