Holy crap, you're right! The issue is being discussed over on the official website's thread for the article. See also http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=532928 which had the previous brackets, even though they've now been taken down from WotC's original article at http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/262.
This looks REALLY BAD. It's probably not intentional, but it makes WotC look really bad and lends fuel to those who claim that the votes are being rigged by WotC. At worst, WotC is rigging the votes; at best, they incompetently screwed up the vote.
I'll look into the situation with the voting software when I get into work tomorrow. It certainly looks (from my home computer here) like the vote got messed up. If, as it appears, the votes weren't recorded properly, I'll ask Trick if we can schedule a re-vote.
You should read this thread more carefully. He already said on this MTGS thread that it was a mistake before you posted:
so basically they make the card, completely. We had suspected this, of course but confirmed now i guess.

Yep, and even if logistics/scheduling permitted it (and logistics/scheduling does not), doesn't make much sense to put a Latin name in a Greek set. (Yes, I know the cultures are intertwined, but there's no Roman Empire in Theros, and while Theros has some real-world Roman influences, it is clearly predominantly Greek. Maybe someday we can use Carpe Noctem in some future Roman set, whenever that may be. :D)
No, they're voting for it because, in a vacuum, it's the best name. It got the most votes originally. But I don't want it wasted on this card.
I voted for enchantment land but sadly due to narrowminded choices I had to settle for enchantment alone and even then I didn't get multi colored. My design was never chosen due to it being USA Only. This whole process as felt very restricted and does raise many eyebrows.

And that might really be the better way of doing a vote for four out of eight names, except then it should have been set up with "vote for up to four names from this list of eight."
Carpe Noctem would be an awesome name for a Vampire tribal card, but is a waste on this card, so a vote for Necroharvest by default.
Vile Plunder and Waste Not are both good fits for this card, but Waste Not is slightly better because of the double entendre of so many people thinking YMTC3 was a waste.
It was said that this card would go in a later Theros set, was it not?
