I actually hope the don't reprint Sol Ring again but instead give us another mana-rock. Mana Vault or Mana Crypt especially would be insanely nice to get.
Sol Ring is $10+ and effectively necessary for every EDH deck, they could print this card 1000 times and it would still benefit from more printings. Mana Vault is considerably more situational and only $4. Mana Crypt is almost as auto-include as Sol Ring is, but runs $55+, so we're much less likely to see that one.

I hope they do as well with this one as the last one. Putting together reprint sets like this seems to be something WoTC is pretty good at. Here's hoping for a Top reprint.
I think the commanders themselves will be fairly boring and unused since all the shards already have pretty good choices for commanders from the Alara block, but nice shard specific support cards would be very nice.
Hopefully next Commander set has some 4 & 5 color general choices
Shards colors were to be expected, the next question is whether the original elder dragons will be headlining these like the planar chaos dragons were in the first batch. I had a lot of mana base predictions that I'd be surprised if we didn't get.
I really like both of these generals but the Jund one looks particularly interesting as both a token producer and a free sac outlet.
Unfortunately every try hard from Sacramento to Shanghai preaches from the top of their 27 lands + Mana Reflection that Tooth and Nail and Time Stretch are fine to play in the same turn but Armageddon is unfair.

Sol Ring was included in commander 1.0 because wizards knew it would be bannded, same for Ironforge Mystic in the event deck.... Maybe they include some OP card on this products, one that is currently banned on the french list....

Top is unlikely, given that it's $15+ and they have only so much "budget" to fit into these decks, or at least they did last time.
Personally, I'm hoping for interesting commanders in a lot of the Shards. Bant has exactly zero exciting commanders (Jenara is just goodstuff, Rafiq is just goodstuff voltron), and Grixis's only decent ones are pretty much goodstuff and also expensive.
I really hope they never do 4/5 color Commander products, because more colors in a deck makes them more homogenous.

Invasion dragons are more likely than Elder Dragon Legends, but I hope it's neither and we get three new legends per color. Most of the Invasion Legends have been reprinted pretty recently via DD: Phyrexia vs Coalition or Graveborn (only Dromar, the Banisher was in neither).

Sol Ring is still legal in Commander play, it's only banned in Duel Commander, which is a separate format with its own banlist, intended for 1v1 play.

51 also. What's interesting about that figure is that it means there will be a new card that appears in every deck, so possibly Command Tower won't be in this product.
I'd be shocked if we get a commander product that doesn't include Command Tower. That would be like standard without Cancel. (it's been in standard constantly since it was first in Time Spiral) There's also no where you can print it other than Commander products since it's completely worthless outside the format.
honestly, I have been hoping that the next commander decks were mono-color, as a lot of my favorite commanders are one color. maybe next year.
I would expect that the new decks will have towers, rings, and greaves. the new inclusions for utility will more than likely be in the vein of journeyer's kite. maybe one that costs 3 and you don't have to pay to activate, like a howling mine for basics.....
I would expect the shard lands to make their appearance in each deck, along with one of the existing shard generals like karthus or rafique and two new ones. one with the new mechanic that lets you get more the more times you have cast it, and one that does something else, as yet undefined.
Only if you are unoriginal in deck design choices.
Yep. I mean, look at Reaper King, for instance... you'll typically see people take two entirely different routes in the build of it- either 5 Color Good Stuff Cascade or Scarecrow Tribal.
While those two decks may share 30% similarity or better for mana fixing, there's a fair amount of difference in the way that those stacks are going to be put together.
Child of Alara would be different from that, even if it was a 5 Color Good Stuff control build.
A Progenitus centered build would be well different than that.
Horde of Notions is going to ENTIRELY different than that, and probably more aggro.
And that's just with 5-color based decks.
4 Color decks can be designed to play up what they aren't.
It only gets really homogenized if you sit there with a big list of "Ok, these are the best cards so I have to play this."
I'm pretty sure you'd have plenty of happy casual players if in some of the 4/5 color ones you ended up with less basic lands and some of the older cycles of nonbasics that people would use to build "budget" 5 color- even Alara trilands are creeping up to a buck or more.
Agreed. As cool as the original Elder Dragons are, their cards, save Bolas, weren't that great at all. Also, Chromium has Rampage, which Wizards hasn't supported in nearly 20 years.
NEW versions of the Elder Dragons? Yes, please. But I won't get my hopes up; I'm sure it'll just be Treva, Dromar, Darigaaz, Crosis and Rith.
I'm really hoping the do the same thing with this one and include some other random legendary creatures in 1 or 2 colors.
Almost guaranteed.
The bigger question in my mind is, will they be enemy colored, like last time?
Or ally-colored?
I'm a bit torn on this-
Enemy colors are still way, way behind the allies in terms of available choices,
but I wouldn't mind some ally-color legends printed with Commander specifically in mind.
Maybe they'll be nice and print one of each?

Besides not even counting this, allied/shard commanders still outnumber enemy/wedges by a big margin.
Yeah, but you have to consider that almost half the shard commanders are from Legends, and most of those are garbage. Even the remainder aren't always great, since they're 2 legends from Alara + some random legend here or there. The Wedge legends in the Commander pre-cons are explicitly designed for EDH and it shows; they are much more playable on average.
While I love using regular legends, because they were NOT designed with EDH in mind and thus often have quirkier or less obvious uses, and are also usually less "pushed" in power level, it would be nice to have more playable Shard legends. Certain shards in particular are very lacking.
Take Bant for instance. You have Rafiq, who is very build-around but very linear and a little boring. You have Jenara, who is almost a blank slate and is usually played as a goodstuff deck. Outside of that, you have a joke general (Pheldagriff), ye olde Angu$ McKenzie and Rubinia who are marginally useful, and a bunch of crap.
Naya is also restricted, even more so. Mayael and Uril both want to build-around in a very specific way. Outside of that, you have Hazezon at $60 and... nothing.

I'd be pretty shocked if the original Legends Elder Dragons were included. The Planar Chaos Dragons were an extension of the original Primordial Dragon cycle from Invasion, so I'd count on them being in (Rith, the Awakener, Treva, the Renewer, Dromar, the Banisher, Crosis, the Purger and Darigaaz, the Igniter).
