But no, I'm sure the third un-set would be called Unscrewed. It fits all the logic of an un-set. Has "un" in its name and means "disassembled" or "crazy".
Nyet! The third set is Unbound, due to the cards having no frames. All the cards are full art with the text "floating" on each. The lands will have a sliver of a border to allow legal play (less than Unhinged).
To me, Conspiracy sounds like a great name for Modern Masters II, considering how much of a "conspiracy" it is against collectors every time a Chronicles-like set is released.
Either that, or it's the MtG/Disney crossover set they're putting out as part of The House of Mouse's buyout of Hasbro.

I suspect is has something to do with the link between Wizard's and SCG's manipulation of the secondary market. Possibly that wizards buys up all the stock of cards to inflate the price, and then slowly sells them back into the market via SCG
And the trademark is a whistle blower inside wizards that is trying to shed light on what is going on.
Yes, it's probably next year's version of Planechase/Archenemy. Yadda yadda thread closed.
But what if it isn't?
Time Spiral indicates that they can still start a block with a generic name, especially with a return destination. Someone (I think MaRo but don't quote me) has confirmed that the current story arc, i.e. the Apocalypse of Bolas, wraps up in 2017, four blocks from now. Bolas has been absent since m13 and chronology indicates he's a big player in next year's block. What if "Conspiracy" is the first set in the multiplanar Infinite Consortium Block?
Storyline: dissension in the ranks. Bolas has a lot of scoundrels under his employ, and some (coughcoughTezzeret) are notoriously unhappy with their treatment. Conspiracy touches a wide variety of planes the Consortium has influenced, including Rav, NPH, Zendikar, Dominaria, Alara. The theme is Planeswalker Block. Chandra-Ramaz is a theme, as is Tezzeret launching some kind of Phyrexian coup against Bolas. Probably Ajani involved as well. This could be like a Nemesis block, the setup to the final showdown, ending on a major cliffhanger (freed Eldrazi? Phyrexians on Rav/Dominaria/Alara?) All in all, Conspiracy block could be amazing.
Just an idea to contrast the last few pages of the thread, which have been mostly "yup, summer set" over and over. I'm not saying it's likely....
I think this is almost certainly the next summer release, in the mold of Planechase, etc. Most of those have been multi-player formats. A multi-player format inspired by the board game "diplomacy" would be sweet.

My EXACT thoughts. I love politics in multiplayer magic, giving us the ability to backstab and wreck each other will be fun.

Ah, but "Unbound" is too flavorful a term to use in a parody set. They could've called AVR Avacyn Unbound. Or the eventual "Eldrazi lose their physical forms and eat Zendikar" set Eldrazi Unbound. Or "Jin-Gitaxias figures out how to make planar portals" Phyrexia Unbound. The possibilities are, well, boundless.
To me, Conspiracy sounds like a great name for Modern Masters II, considering how much of a "conspiracy" it is against collectors every time a Chronicles-like set is released.
Cute, but the Reserved List was made in response to collectors' disdain for Chronicles; I doubt they'll do it again, largely because competitive players loathe it, even though for every Time Vault, there's a Farmstead. Yeah, in the early days, balance was sketchy.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Here is my principle: Taxes shall be levied according to ability to pay. That is the only American principle.
Whatever this turns out to be, I just hope that wizards doesn't announce anything about it except its release date. Just let all these conspiracies build and build, the hype would sellout all the prereleases.
Seriously, when I think about assassin variant that a lot of people are assuming, I can't help but wonder what type of cards they could print that would support it.
But yea, if this is a role playing supplement or something I'm going to like so roleplay as Deadpool.
I just got the weird idea of you saying "Oh, Force of Will. I'm tooootally surprised. Sure, you can dish it out, but can you take it?"
Anyway, I'm going with "throne Magic" personally. Or some version of Archenemy where the flavor's been flipped and the good guy is the Archenemy.

Most likely just a comic book, the name would fit on one of those.
You cannot, in general, trademark (or copyright for that matter) a literary title as a title. You can trademark a title for use as a brand, so if you want to make sure that your book title cannot be used as a brand by others you can own it in that regard, but a zillion authors can write a zillion different novels entitled Agents of Artifice and there is nothing wizards could do about it even if it was trademarked as a brand. It becomes harder to argue when Magic: the Gathering is attached to the title, but as far as I can tell wizards has never tried to trademark a literary title so far and their literary titles do not include "Magic: the Gathering" either.
I am not a lawyer, and that is not legal advice. I also use the term "literary" in the very loosest sense of the word.
Don't you guys get it? This entire thing is just one big troll on Wizards' part. The idea is to get us all arguing about what "Conspiracy" will be, and as they continue not to do anything related, the speculation continues to build... Convoluted conspiracy theories begin to pop up, all trying to explain exactly what Wizards plans to do with their trademark, but they never do anything, never any explanation, which, of course, just feeds the conspiracies more. They call it "Conspiracy" because it is a conspiracy, a great practical joke to get us all worked up.
I played "werewolf" against Rosewater, Garfield, and a couple of guys from R&D at Worlds in Memphis. Its safe to say they love the game, Rosewater is particularly masterful at it. So I could see a multiplayer werewolf//mofia type expansion.
I have a buddy that has a small shop, and he said he had no further details, but that when inquiring about FTV 20 with a WotC rep, he was asked if he wanted to sign up for Arch Enemy release event... he didnt get a date or anything, but he told them: "yea sure".
The name sounds like it could possibly be related to Arch Enemy?
Why exactly do blocks have to exist only on one plane and one plane only especially now with planeswalkers. The set could be timespiral esqu and have bits and pieces from all over but link to a multiverse conspiracy. Ravnica was super populae so they re did it it I happen torecall timespiral being popular as well. Hard to do timespiral 2.0 so this could be an atempt.

Simplicity and design. As part of the NWO, it's a lot easier for new players to understand "WE'RE ON ADVENTURE WORLD!" or "WE'RE ON HORROR WORLD!" Also, when it comes to integrated block design, it's hard to say "We're going to jump from Kamigawa to Mirrodin to Ravnica in one block." because that means you have one set that's designed to a legendary theme, one set designed to artifacts, then one designed to guilds. As an example, look at Masques block, or even Mirrodin. Mirrodin, they realized that artifacts was busted, and did a 180 to 5-color artifacts. Fifth Dawn flopped.

No, that doesn't follow. That hypothetical block would have an overarching theme that would be more important than any of the planes visited. They would not simply replicate the original appearances of each plane in a vacuum for each set. You cite Masques block as an example of how such an exercise is doomed to fail but Masques came before the idea of a "block theme" was expected and it functioned according to the traditions of its time (you might consider Fading and Rhystic to be isolated due to their being on separate planes, but actually that was just how they did small sets' mechanics in those days). Nemesis did not attempt to thrust any theme of Tempest out of context into the block, and mechanics like Rebels and Spellshapers were consistently done throughout. A hypothetical plane-jumping block designed today would be designed with modern design practices which alone would elevate it far above Masques block. Even if it absolutely had to be Kamigawa/Mirrodin/Ravnica they'd not be so foolish as to dive blindly into three completely unrelated themes, and nothing they've done even in the distant past suggests they would.
8 pages into a thread about a Magic set about 'conspiracy' and no one else has mentioned New World Order? Obviously this is all about Wizards admitting that M:tG is actually part of the depopulation plan and... ... ...
Sweet Celestia, the NWO is a stupid conspiracy theory, only slightly less silly than David Icke... I need to know less ridiculous conspiracy theorists
Seriously though, kind of hope it's a multiplayer thing - do love me some politics
I'd be very happy if it was Archenemy... seems like I may be one of the few people who enjoyed it so much, haha
