Number on ebay tripled from yesterday and the con isnt even over yet. I see these dropping a bit more because so many people are looking to flip them initially.
If you were on the fence about getting a set on eBay, you *might* want to do so sooner than later if this is true.
Yep - hate to backtrack on my predictions from earlier this week but prices will be unlikely to fall if the booth is out by noon on Friday and the weekend hasn't even started yet. I'm still hoping they allocated stock for each day and we'll see more show up over the weekend, but if not would recommend buying now if you hope to get one in the next month or so. Hasbro would be very silly to purposefully hold back inventory to sell online when there are crowds of people at the con asking to buy there, so this also hints that there won't be inventory online anytime soon either.
Fortunately one glimmer of hope is that the SDCC logo isn't anywhere on the card, so some number of weeks down the road they could decide to do another print-run. Probably some unhappy owners if that happens with a 400% markup right now, but they clearly underestimated demand here.
They sold out last night. Put the number made likly under 5000 if not under 3000. I thought they would drop to $150. But now I'm expecting the to jump to $300.
They do have a comic-con exclusive sticker on the box. And they are really nice Looking.
I've also been told this was a hasbro thing not a wizards thing.

I can confirm as well that Hasbro is saying they are permanently sold out. They seemed confused this morning as to whether they were even getting more, and then after a short period of sales from 9 AM to about 10:30 AM, declared the supply exhausted.
We got in line at 4 AM to try to get this and failed. We'd been told there would be supply each day so if you got a ticket on Friday but Friday sold out, you could use the ticket first thing on Sat, etc., but now they say nope.
Overall this was terrible execution on their part. I agree that this seems more like a Hasbro deal than a Wizards deal, as it felt like the consumer treatment here was just awful. I just bought one for $300 just to have one in case they go up even further...

Hasbro probably doesn't quite understand just how healthy wotc is, the wotc brand is probably the most successful part of their company these days as its hard to imagine any other branch getting about triple the audience in less than a decade.
Yeah, it feels odd. Well, hopefully I'll be able to pick up a set reasonably, or perhaps trade for a set.
Cheers
Reasonably, you say? Ha. No chance of that I feel. As for trading for it? I hope you're ready to accept a trade that massively disfavors you (unless you get a person that doesn't really care about its potential value [Note: Also not going to happen]). Yes, I am feeling rather bitter about not being able to possibly get a set for a reasonable price.

I love wotc but hasbro has some pretty incredible brands...

WotC is big but I think Transformers, gi joe, star wars , my little pony and Barbie are maybe a little bigger. They just didn't make enough. Was likely a late idea when it came to con exclusives.
I got lucky and got mine and I'm happy. They are very nice.

Yesterday when they sold out there were only about 200
Made available. My friend was #107 in line and he missed out, by 7 people. There is a limit 2 per person and assuming that most people bought 2 (they were the hottest item among resellers/scalper a by word of mouth) that means that 200 of them sold out in about 1 hour.
On Thursday when they were made available they sold out for the day within 4-5 hours. Alot of people didn't buy them then, so just doing a rough estimate based on time maybe 800-1200 sold on Thursday.
I think the overall print run on this thing is 1000-1500 units. Which makes it insanely limited and collectible in the long run.
Champs mutavault with a slightly increased print run. Hooray WotC you printed more modern alpha rares/specific cards that were printed less than alpha rares.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Nothing in this game is degenerate or completely dominant. They haven't banned anything in standard in a long, long time. Hell they should have banned affinity right away, but they didn't until boxed sales collapsed too. Hasbro had to come in and fire people.
I'll enjoy watching all the whiners eat crow monday.
I've bid on close to two dozen listings for this set, trying to get one for under 300 dollars (foolish, I know). I'm done. My monthly bills are more important than this crapshow of a set. I'm pretty much resigned to the fact I'll never own one of these.
I think it will all depend on what happens in the next two weeks. We've seen listings from people who got these at SDCC and listed them immediately, but the con just ended today and we'll see the "flood" (or lack of one) over the next week or so as people get home or decide to sell.
There are also still many people holding out hope that Wizards will do some sort of web sale (possible) or a second printing/shipping (very doubtful).
The supply has dwindled a bit on eBay thus far and I have a feeling that many of the purchasers are going to store them firmly in collections/decks rather than just speculating on sealed sets to re-sell in the near term. If that's the case, the price could keep going up. For it to go anywhere past $500 though the cards themselves have to show long-term playability, which is kind of dubious right now. When these things start to rotate, it will be interesting to see if the low print run and oddity factor are enough to sustain the value.
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
But, it would be so...collectible, right? BOOM!! $200 right there. Right?
Seriously, these are really bad PWs, barring the Garruk, and even he is a spec at this point.
That is why everyone is rushing to sell them.

Probably around $500, given the history of the Jace book promo.
Are the print runs between the BoB Planeswalker set and book Jace similar?
