Value? Where, I see barely 15.00 in cards, no where close to 20, let alone MSRP...
Um, there's definitely $20 and that's being conservative. Plus cards likely to increase in the near future like Stomping Ground and Battledriver. However, no, this is definitely not "value-packed."
It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.

Stomping grounds are easily had for 10 or under, next most expensive is mortars and shamans at 2/ea, then gore-clans at like .75/ea, rest of the rares are all bulk save for like Battledriver which is just barely above that right now off of spec...
As for those who think this deck is good for new players, what are you smoking? this deck is horrid, you can build almost the full blitz deck minus shocks for not much more then this event deck costs, and be far better off for it.
This is the M14 Event Deck? I know these things aren't really necessarily supposed to be about the set, but damn, with all those ravnica cards, you really could've fooled me!
This seems reasonable. No omega value so the competitive players do not gobble them all up, but enough that a store if they don't sell can get some value if they have to crack them for singles. These are meant to be a "starting point" deck and to be modified by the newbie. They see one stomping ground and think it's awesome and then buy packs to open 3 more.
I am happy they are not putting M13 or Innistrad in these. The horror of players being told that M13 was in standard and they get the M13 event deck with Scars cards in it and being told they can't use the event deck they just bought was pretty miserable.
Very easily the worst event deck in a while. The only real purpose of event decks is for singles, so why would they have stomping ground as the only money card?

If that's your "casual," what on earth is required for "formal," a butler in livery shuffling the decks whilst a pianist plays Brahms in front of a tapestry?

I completely disagree with this. Some people do get these for value, but there are way more people who get these just to have a solid deck for FNM/Gameday. And usually these decks actually do pretty solid, most notably the Selesnya's one from Dragons Maze and the ridiculous Boros one from Gatecrash.

QFT.
I love raiding these things for value as much as the next player. But the real purpose of these is to get newer players into the game and give them something competitive to use right off the bat. And in that department, I think this is the best that Wizards has cranked out in quite some time.
Then several of the uncommons have been solid in Standard construction. And I think Ogre Battledriver has potential to be a hit. So, overall, while this deck does not have a lot of current value other than Stomping Grounds, it does have several cards that I think may be able to see play post rotation. And for a new player, these cards are powerful enough to give them a fighting chance. However, I would like to say that it needed a couple Experiment Ones.

The actual purpose of an event deck is for a newbie to be able to buy it and not get roflstomped by everybody, and this deck does that quite nicely.

Not a bad deck to take to FNM though.
It feels weird, even though it'd be weirder if it actually had one.

Hell, put in a playset of Stomping Grounds. The damn things would sell out overnight.

I've sworn it off. Non-rotating formats are where it's at.
I wonder what the name for the M15 event deck will be, Labyrinth of Psychics?
I also like the fact that there are little to no ISD block and M13 cards. Gives the deck more staying power.

I hate the reserved list.
Mythic rares are fine.

I still don't see it looks slow and clunky, no good shaman plays on turn two, expensive dudes don't get you far in standard right now.
