The card is called "Revenge of Necromancy" not "ninja zombie's stealthy sudden death schemes" (as B would suggest) I voted for C as it really represents a triumphant revenge pose.

It's not, actually. We haven't voted on a name yet, Revenge is just a placeholder name submitted by the designer.

DCI Level 2 Judge
If your question is "What would a judge do is this situation?", only one person's answer is relevant, and that is the Head Judge at your event. I can quote the rules, but I don't know your HJ.
Ugh, this is not how I pictured the art at all. We get 2 close-ups and a midshot. I pictured something at a long angle, with the trash heap the most prominent, with a smaller ragman rummaging in it. :/
That was how I pictured it too. These are all way too close up on the subject.

The fact that at this stage people still think thats the name of the card is beyond ridiculous. They basically explained it in each article of the damned event yet people still haven't grapsed this. It's like they just give initial options a quick skim and instantly impulse vote. people probably voted against blood in the watering can because it's name was too long...
it's like WotC run this event every so often to remind themselves that not just anyone can design magic cards. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if once voting closes down each time they sit around a confrence room laughing, taking bets and just overall patting themselves on the back.
Whatever art they use, I hope they make the sack a little more important in the artwork. That really is the heart of the card. The sack the rag man has is where he collects the "trash" opponents have discarded for his use.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
I don't really like any of the art. the focus is too much on the creature and not what the creature is doing. This isn't a creature card and that is what the art suggests. I picked the b as it is the least creature looking. All of them just make me think of Deathrite Shaman with the skull and everything.
Looks a lot like Gravelord Nito from Dark Souls...
Looks nothing like Nito.
Actually Nito would be awesome art. With his rolling skeletons.

“A man's at odds to know his mind cause his mind is aught he has to know it with. He can know his heart, but he dont want to. Rightly so. Best not to look in there. It aint the heart of a creature that is bound in the way that God has set for it. You can find meanness in the least of creatures, but when God made man the devil was at his elbow. A creature that can do anything. Make a machine. And a machine to make the machine. And evil that can run itself a thousand years, no need to tend it.”

C is definitely looking best to moi. I guess the argument of "character art" versus "scene art" is playing toward B's favor, though. (Then again, MTGS and other forums have "gotten it wrong" before.)
As a sidenote, I'm feeling cautiously optimistic that this current YMTC process won't take an eternity (unlike the last few, which did). I always felt like the digital age should be able to speed up these types of things, yet every successive YMTC seems to have taken longer than the last.

I'm officially proposing we retire the word "insane" from the MtG vocabulary.

The problem with B is all that junk cutting across the frame. It's just there when it shouldn't be, of course it's hard to tell due to it being a sketch, but it's just visually displeasing.
So I voted for C, but I agree the other arts do look too much like a creature art.

As good as this card will be, if they make it mana cheap, am I the only one wondering what could have been if we chose land instead? It was deadly close. I mean if we chose land what would people have wanted and what could have been selected?
We don't want to go too far off topic with talk of what-ifs during the design process. Those should be brought up in the main YMTC design threads.
Now then, any opinion on the art?

I'll be devastated if the mana cost is more than 3.
Considering Liliana's Caress and Geth's Grimoire, CMC 3 sounds about right.
