So let me get this right....people are complaining about a three card connected combo in a core-set? That's the whole point of a core-set get them interested then venture out in to expert expansions and see that the cards are more open ended. Also their going to learn that they need to support the combo, its not just going to win the game all by itself. Meaning their going to play it enough in see what interacts with it. Or that they're going to need to be able to recur the newt should it not finish of the opponent, or that the opponent has more creatures then they do and that the need spot removal to keep the opponent from out racing them. Plus its only three freakin cards in the set.

I hate you WOTC... right as I am about to quit Magic and start selling everything off you release Slivers, Door of Destinies, and Mutavault all in the same set.
Looks like I am stuck for another 14 months.
We all say something similar to ourselves about that. Better to just take a break. Besides if you were really leaving Magic for good you wouldn't be on this site, or anything related to Magic, at all.

Would it have been broken if she searched your library AND graveyard? My only concern is what happens when she runs out of newts?!
Also, in 2012 they did a 3 card combo with the crown/scepter/3rd thing so I don't know why this is unexpected. In a "teaching set" it is a very heavy handed hard to miss set up that screams "Build a deck where cards interact with each other!".
Orzhov Control, featuring Witches. Twelve removal spells and a nice 'attack if you dare' feel to it. Only running one Bubbling Cauldron because I can tutor for them, and Trading Post is slightly better.

I hope for that too. The real greeks / romans were quite militaristic. Therefore I guess that white will get a lot of soldiers. From the visual side of view some '300' orientated artworks would be awesome.
... except that the code names for sets have nothing to do with the set itself.

Judging from the artwork given to us it's very safe to conclude that Theros will have Greek and roman themes and influences without directly referencing them.
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
So...First drainpipe vermin and now this? Why must I kill all my cute creatures to do this?!

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?

Love that WotC is trying to focus on making the game FUN. Fun interactions are hilarious. Great, great cards.

# of stoked people >> # of *****ing people.
Thus, M14 = good?
No one is picking it in the "What would you first pick" thread though. I guess mutavault is just that awesome.

I think it's pretty cute. I'd probably swap some pacifisms for Oblivion Ring and Immortal Servitude.
Door of Destinies is just really pushing tribal now. I hope we get Soldier as a tribe to mingle with Boros.

Hoping it's knights to be honest.
