Before people start going crazy about Garruk in Modern (Wurm is there too), just remember that Dramatic Entrance is already legal in that format and sees zero play. Now, Garruk being a planeswalker with awesome card advantage potential definitely counts in his favor, but remember that this is a format where Scapeshift is lethal on turn 5 and where Tron can play Karn on turn 3. I'm not saying Garruk is unplayable. I'm just cautioning people from being too excited without thinking through Garruk in the format context.
That +1 is probably better than Harmonize in decks with 40-50% creatures (I'm thinking of Animar EDH here, but there may eventually be Standard applications as well), and "+1: Harmonize" is extremely strong.
Costing 6 and having very limited ability to protect himself may end up confining him to EDH, but if so he'll still be a powerhouse there.
Domri is at his best when he's drawing powerful cards like Huntmaster or Thragtusk, not when he's drawing cards like Experiment One or Boros Elite. Also Domri's fight is pretty bad with blitz creatures. So yes they are very comparable, you're just playing Domri very poorly.

I was referring more to the Naya/Jund creature decks of earlier in the format (with a midrange component of Boros Reckoner and others as a defense against other aggro) than the all-in decks of today. My terminology was bad there, my mistake.
Holy ****- Momir Vig, Simic Visionary's favorite PW, no question! Sliver Overlord really likes it, too!
I'm glad they went the expensive, splashy route this time-
It *is* Green, after all.

I do not like this card. Very expensive casting cost and none of the abillities looks like something I would enjoy playing. Garruk Relentless is still my fav.
He needs an insanely powerful green creature, that basically says:"Put this into play and you win the game" to be good.
And again, unless that creature were Standard legal, Dramatic Entrance would still be better in Modern. Obviously unplayable in Legacy, so no point in even discussing it.
On a personal level I like the card and the promo is definitely unique. On a constructed level it is perfect in EDH and I think it will see some sort of play in Standard, won't be a whole lot, but 1 or 2 here and there isn't out of the realm of possibility.
To those saying he is as bad as Tibalt, you need to take a look at the card again as he is no where near Tibalt levels of awful.
Just to make sure here. Are people forgetting how this will work with the new planeswalker/legendary rules coming up? For a short time 3 Garruks will be in the format right?
Black on black looks like trash. This is also easily the worst Garruk ever printed and is in the running for the worst planeswalker next to Tibalt.
wow
breaking my heart wizards, breaking my heart.
How can you say that? This guy is a card advantage machine. Where tibalt was not. Yeah hes expensive but he will see some play in standard and is in the running for greatest edh planeswalker of all time.
You could easily ramp this on turn 4 and get out armada wurm for 2 defenders while you use his +1 continuously until either another -3 or a -7. He's a lot better than I think people give credit for.
Card is being underrated. You don't combo off and try to find an 11-mana creature with it. You use it to immediately stabilize and put the pressure back on them. I expect a lot of Wolfirs and Soul of the Harvest to be dropped with his -3, things of that nature.
There was a lot of room to be the worst Garruk and still be playable. I don't know if he is playable, but calling him the worst Garruk is by no means a bad thing.
I guess we're going to be getting Emblems on every PW's ultimate now? That kinda feels right to me. No problem with it.

Worst Garruk? mmm yea, probably.
Worst walker ever printed? lmao.... yea, no.
Big thanks to Rivenor for the sig!!
I mean, every Garruk to date has seen tournament play in Standard, so "worst Garruk" isn't actually saying much.
