So how do you get one of these things from the hasbro booth at SDCC? is it crowds you have to beat? have people tried this in the past? what is the availability like, one of those things that u have to get in the first 10 minutes of the entire con before they sell out?

There's no obvious build-itself deck that makes this new walker powerful, but a little creativity from some brewers might yield some Unexpected Results..
I'm just saying Elvish Archdruid has been reprinted ever since M10. If he is in fact reprinted in M14 he is going to be a huge part in dropping Garruk turn 3
Yeah Elves got a massive jump in power with this. Turn 3 Garruk into a big green fatty is probably one of the fastest plays we've had since Rise of the Eldrazi.
This card is worth testing in EDH. I can see it being useful in a variety of situations. It can help you fish for some creatures when you don't have enough of them, and it can help you spit them out when you have too many of them. If you're going to play a green creature and you are able to play Garruk, you might as well play this first. Pretty useful against counterspells, seeing as they have to counter Garruk or else that other creature gets cheated into play for the most part. Of course, this Garruk is pretty contingent on having a deck full of creatures (which I do). Although 6 cmc is on the costly side, it is totally playable in EDH, especially with Green.
Any oen find out any more on how to get the promos? The number of them? the price? the location of thier sell?
They will be at Sad Diego Comic Con. Not sure if we have any other information. Some (meaning the set of 5 walkers) have gone up on EBay, and one was immediately bought for $200, and the other was at $265 when I last saw it.

Elf ramp will make for some exciting standard plays with this guy.
T1 dork, arbor or mystic
T2 elvish archdruid
T3 garruk, -3 for fatty (worldspine wurm for ultimate stupid)
T4 +1 grab some dudes, cast dudes with 7 mana.
Silliness, i understand the critiques of this guy, he has the right power level in my opinion, i like niche playable walkers, not ones that define formats or break them.
EDIT: also he is way better than any chandra or tibalt or new lili so there is that.

If Elf Ball becomes a thing in this Standard season then we will not see this happening

T3 garruk, +1 Takes 2 -3 elfs
T4 +1 garruk Play elfs

Now trying to call in favors to have someone pick me up a set of those at the SDCC Hasbro booth. They will be HOT.
Also, the new Garruk seems pretty awesome. Sure, expensive. Can't protect himself with his plus ability. But that minus ability, holy crap. And that ultimate is very nice too.
Not sure about the plus ability as you will generally end up with a handful of creatures that you can't cast that turn. Possibly good at eight mana with bloodrush?
Typical play is going to be to go to 1, play huge green creature to protect him, then start ticking up the turn after and filling your hand with creatures.
He shouldn't have to protect himself, it's turn 6... -_- and secondly it's green green ALWAYS, has some sort of mana ramp and there's plenty of that in standard as is. Lastly this guy is awesome +1 to fetch something, which green doesn't have that often I.E. survival of the fittest best example, and his second ability is just fantastic, I doubt this guy won't see play, in mono green stompy, he's a beast. And plus R&D team has to playtest the cards if they weren't playable they wouldn't have that be their final draft, so there it is if you don't like it get over it, it's green, green is an aggressive color, and if you're a control player oh well? hopefully Chandra will actually make red playable

I'm saying he's underwhelming.... 6 cost, and only his first ability matters at all as in a creature-heavy deck, he'll help replenish your hand late game.

Many thanks to DNC at Heroes of the Plane Studios
Good luck beating this in limited if the game is even reasonably close.
