Wow what a letdown. Who the hell in RND felt that the Cycle of Kamigawa dragons needed to be in here.
Correct me if I am wrong but the only dragon in the cycle who even sees fringe modern play is Yosei? How that is a reason to include any of them is beyond me. Yosei and Kaiga are decent yet are barely played in modern to my knowledge, Kokusho is only really used in EDH, and Ryusei and Jugan are used in a total of 0 formats?
Oddly enough the one format where they will see play (limited) won't see them much since they are at mythic
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
3 out of the 5 are pricey rare cards. I'm fine with them being included. I just wish they weren't at Mythic.
Not really the price that bothers me, its the fact that they used 33% of the mythic slots of a set called MODERN master for cards that don't see play in Modern.

how does it not make sense they feel very mythic. Also this allows some money rares such as doubling season, cryptic command, thoughtseize, mutavault etc to be printed at rare
Ryusei and Jugan feel mythic? They aren't even close to playable, let alone having a mythic feel to them.
But that is besides the point, the main issue is that they are using 33% of the mythic slots in a set called MODERN masters for cards that see zero play in modern.

Not all mythics are playable all stars. Legendary dragons scream mythic to me.
Also be happy we might actually get some expensive cards at rare rather than mythic

They do, and that's fine for a regular set, and I'd have no issue usually. I just wish that they would make every mythic a hit. I guess having good staples at rares too would be ideal. But at 7 dollars a pack, getting a Jugen is a really feel bad moment.
On the upside, I want a whole bunch of the new swords. I'm so glad the cycle is finally compleat.

I guess it makes quite a bit more sense to make the dragon cycle all mythic.
It certainly is better than making more cards people actually play in modern mythics.

The "Clique" in the title of the thread isn't really telling a lot. Vendilion Clique is of course the most notorious, but Puppeteer Clique and Mistbind Clique are also both definite possibilities. It's a tiny bit confusing.
I thought I was getting seriously close to the character cap for titles with that one, but apparently I still had some room. Better?

But yeah, that sounds actually quite nice.

Mythics don't have to be all stars, their abilities should feel mythic though and besides Keiga, none of the Dragons really have an ability that feels mythic, Jugan and Ryusei especially.
you are missing my main point however. Why put a cycle of legendary dragons into a set that is promoting a format where the cycle sees zero play?
The last mythic is Vedalken Shackles, which is why the booster pack with the new art is there
Those mythics came from 6 boxes (you don't see the doubles), I saw a couple of Cryptic Commands, Aether Vials, Gifts Ungiven, Arcbound Ravager get opened at rare - didn't see any Thoughtseizes or Damnations and no Mutavaults, plenty of Glimmervoids

Why is that? A lot of cards like crytpic command, thoughtseize etc spiked after modern masters was announced. It would have been terrible at mythic

There are a plenty of bad rares as well...
