Arkham, the 1920's. Investigators battle horrors from beyond time and space, risking life and sanity while conspiracies of cultists and malign servitors seek gateways for their outer gods to return...

The return of Slivers is going to drive the price of Cavern of Souls even higher, and the chances of it being itself in M14 is probably fairly high. I'll be interested to see what people do with superb manafixing and 5 colors worth of slivers to play around with.
As someone pointed out on facebook, REALLY easy to make multicolour decks at the moment.
In addition, in a core set, they can be mostly reprints with maybe a few new ones thrown in.
They offer a really, really simple draft strategy to get hold of - 'See these guys? Draft more of these guys' - without needing to fill the whole set with tribes - just slivers across all colours. And hopefully some artifacts too
I'm more or less hoping Slivers is a Modern Masters thing more than an M14 thing.

It also raises another question: In directly quoting two multicolor Slivers, does this mean M14 will possibly be the first set we get gold cards in?
Technically, M13 was the first to have gold cards, namely Nicol Bolas. But yes, that was one of my thoughts, though they may have just picked it as a familiar flavor text, seeing as crystalline was one of the few to see competitive play.
Regardless, it seems very very likely we'll be getting slivers as the returning 'mechanic' this time. And logically, a core set block is the best way to bring back slivers, since you don't have to come up with as rigorous a storyline reason for why they're back from the dead for the 32nd time or accommodate them in your entire block, but instead you just get to mess with them for one set. My big question is whether it's going to be the classic sliver template, or if they're going to update it to "you control".
