Although past promotions for these releases have been mythics, I believe these promos will be rare.
I am basing this on Bonescythe Sliver. Unless this card is an artifact or some kind of cycle-breaker, I don't see M14 using up 5 mythic slots on slivers. I really don't think rarity levels will be different across platforms.
We should get some spanking new art for the Ooze in this promo.
I take it I'm the only guy cheesed at the fact that we're going to get another Jace? I get blue's a popular colour right now and he's kind of their main protagonist but we just had him in the last block, do we really need a fifth version, when theres still several colour combinations unaccounted for?
Jace will likely be a reprint. The only question is which one they'll print. It would be weird to print AoT, and they tend to do 2 year rotations which means Memory Adept is gone. Maybe it will be Jace Beleren?
Could these promos be whats driving down the price of Ooze? You pay $10 for a game and get a code, and hope your LGS has enough copies of a $30 card? Seems like a fair deal.
My thoughts on the price of Ooze. I would compare it to Deathrite. Sees tons of play in Legacy and Modern and decent amount in standard. Ooze would probably see alot of play in standard, tons of play in Modern and sees a decent amount in Legacy. I really think the card will be sub 20.00 if printed as a rare
Up, at least in the long run. Everything in Modern is more expensive, and Ooze won't even be in MM. It'll go up to maybe $40 if printed at rare, though the initial drop is not surprising.
I hope not. In a creature-heavy environment such as Standard, Ooze would conceivably be better than Goyf in many situations. It would certainly also make a huge impact on Modern.
Given that it's the ultimate anti-Goyf card, I'm sure this will piss off the people who bought Modern Masters boxes for $300... And Gifts Control, Reanimator and Living End will certainly die off.
Yes, because both are legal in Legacy and Goyf sees no play there! Especially because of Ooze! What ever will we do?
Sure, but a creature that you can pay G to put a +1/+1 counter on isn't broken. There are large beaters aplenty in Standard, the reason Ooze is so good in eternal formats is because of what he removes. How important is this ability given the cards that will be in Standard with it? Unburial Rites gone, Snapcaster gone, flashback spells gone. RTR block definitely has some cards that he will hose (Obzedat's Aid, Varolz etc.) but the simple P/T aspect is not brokenly strong.
I'm pretty sure Innistrad block and M13 don't rotate until Theros comes out. And my point wasn't that this card is or isn't broken, but that this card can remove any card because the person I was quoting said that it can only remove creatures.

i'll be grabbing the game for steam or android and the wife is grabbing it for her ipad, then as always (as i'm a sucker) i'll buy it for xbox and ps3 too. granted i think this time i'm going to make sure we get it on steam and android and ipad solely for 3 of those promos.

I will be buying 4 copies of DotP 2014 and I don't think I will ever play it.
Lorwyn five simply refers to the original five planeswalkers (Garruk, Chandra, Liliana, Jace, and Ajani) that appeared in the Lorwyn block, not those specific versions of them.
Lorwyn 5 / Lorwyn Five / LORWYN 5IVE

If they reprint it in M14 at a 'Rare' rarity, then I guess it's cool.
But if it IS promoted to a 'Mythic Rare' rarity (like Tarmogoyf in MM), then Wizards clearly sees the money card Ooze is B(

Need a break from Standard or EDH? Play Two-Headed Giant, 60-Card Singleton!

To their honor, I would say that Scavenging Ooze rarity in the Commander decks was somewhat useless: Mythic rarity was only given to Commander legends, if memory serves me well; and decks were pre-built, so who cared about rarity anyway?
Should it be printed in a set where rarity matters, I would expect it to go at Mythic. In my opinion, Ooze has the same mythicness smell of a Voice of Resurgence, just to make an example.
This is pretty good. Now, if the card would be rare - it would be reasonable to think that the price of the card wouldnt be as high as now. I dont know how much would it be relevant to Modern, but considering the power level I suppose quite a lot. Demand will show us.
What does it matter if it's a mythic? It'll be flooding the market via the promo rendition.
That would mean that according to you, more promotion editions of the card would flow through the market than the actual standard edition of the card which can be pulled from the booster. That doesnt make sense. Main supply comes from the boosters so its a pretty damn big difference if you have only 1/8 chance to pull a mythic in a pack out of x mythics, as opposed to a bigger chance for a normal rare.
Well that quote just dropped the price another $10.

I think he deleted it, but I think this should provide insight.
Yes I copied the print screen to paint, I couldn't think of any other way to do it.

I agree that Tamiyo is awesome, but Jace is too big of an icon for the game to not bring back in... Well, every other block + core sets, basically.
The awesome-est MTG webcomic out there. Go check it out!
His answer does neither confirm nor deny the possibility of Ooze in M14, but the fact that the link is dead now smells of possible confirmation.
