Funny I looked this up just the day before I saw this but until this point there had been no non-changling black minotaurs. Welcome to the Have 1 Creature of Each Color (that isn't just one creature I'm looking at you Reaper King/Transguild Courier) Club along with human, sliver, shapeshifter, beast, avatar, and atog (and plenty others I'm sure).
we still didnt get a single good mythic did we? and there are alreaedy quite a few spoiled.
Yeah I would be happy cause we have ooze as rare and soo open more of them in boosters
If you like to preorder the MRs that you think will see play and some times pay far more than what they worth for soo ok ... its your life
EDIT: also that Sphinyx can be good in multplayer and also that dragon i think can see Standard play they are not bad they are just different

That's a pretty sweet common for just three mana. The dragon is a bit solid, but it's funny how he's going to be a 1 damage ping pretty much all of the time.
actually if we get some cool dragons with low cmc i can se this dragon beign a finisher of rdws
Windreader Sphinx - as said before, multiplayer staple, but does not interest me.
Trained Condor - Puper cube staple
Scourge of Valkas - a new dragon for my collection and bumps thundermaw so I can finally afford it!
Minotaur Abomination - Theros plant?
The Windreader Sphinx is the most unoffensive and Core Set-y mythic I've ever seen.
The Dragon seems fun.
Nothing for me here, but solid core set material.
second this. I don't know exactly if I like this or not. I could see both the Dragon and the Sphinx as ''Reasonable if Suprisingly Good" Rares. IE not particularly Shocking or World-Ending or Boundary Stretching.
Although the Dragon is More Mythic than the Sphinx, I think.
Don't get me wrong. Restraint is Good. I think if EVERY Mythic 'Stretched the Boundary", it would be basically a new way to Power Creep. So it's Good for the Game when the make Mythics that could feasibly be Rares....but I just hope they do it more on the Timmy Cards and Johnny Cards.
I WANT Melvin, Spike, and ESPECIALLY Vorthos Cards to be "Boundary Pushing" when they're Mythic. (Probably they need to strictly limit how many Mythics they design FOR Spike)
On Vorthos: I'm very happy the Gate Runners are Rare. Exactly what happened to some of them because of that change, I'm not wholly elated about, but just on general principle, it is very good that the Gate Runners have a Gold Symbol, and the GUILDMASTERS have a RED symbol. I want more clear and obvious pecking orders among Legendary Creatures. So non-Mythic Legends are always a cool thing to see, and we got a whole 10 of them in a single set! I find Rare Legends more interesting to build around when your trying to show off your Deck Design chops than Mythic Legends. Mythic Legends are simply fun to PILOT, similar to how video games are often very fun when you punch in all the cheat codes.
I mean we're all adults here. Kicking butt and Taking names IS fun, when you are buttkicker and the nametaker. Primeval Titan would be an AWESOME Commander for, like, one game. once. ever.
If you find the Sphinx and the Dragon 'unplayable' in Constructed, you are Making the Wrong Decks.
I won't say 'playing the wrong format', because EDH is getting too mainstream now. and the same whiney Spikes are beginning to crop up there that are always lurking in Standard.
*I* mean playing the RIGHT kind of Decks IN the hardcore formats. I mean like, be the kind of person that will Willfully Draft Battle of Wits....on the Pro Tour. Or at a Grand Prix, at least. To prove the point that this is a Game. And if you are not having fun, you are doing it wrong.
And part of having fun is making sure that the way you build your decks, and the way you play the game, you are quite honestly perfectly happy if you win or lose Because either of those things could happen by the end of the game. I posted an awesome true story about Battle of Wits on Gatherer. It was only for FNM, but I want to do that on the Pro Tour someday.
Pick one day out of my career to just TREAT the new set like it's the Third Unset. Because wouldn't that just be great to do in front of an audience of millions? "Yeah. I'm Drafting against LSV and Patrick Chapin and Jon Finkel. I choose Knowledge Pool and Battle of Wits. Good Sirs, it IS ON B| "
I know you don't get to play on the Pro Tour with this attitude. :/ Not really. You can be a *little* mad, but only methodically mad. Not totally Happy-Go-Lucky-Topsy-Turvy-Shoot-The-Moon-Looney-Tune-Insane. But...Dreaming is still good. :3
And I'm sure that anyone that plays enough Magic to get on the Pro Tour, takes days off of their 'career' to play 'Old Skool' 'Spongebob MAGIC'
They just probably don't do it on camera, when it's for real and it's guaranteed to lose them a bunch of money in prizes
I am probably every color-combination it is possible to be, though it's really hard to figure out what it would mean to be 4-colored....it doesn't seem logical to be 4-colored without being 5-colored.
I think the dragon is this set's vampire nocturnus. At first we are like, "okay, I guess that is a card," then in a set or two we get vampire(dragon) tribal galore.

Feel free to tell me yours!
When do we see the hopefully multi-format playable Chandra? Looks like I won't be buying much Core set cards this time around. Not to impressed with the Jank....
but in casual play sets I love Jank. I have since stopped the lusting after powerful 30$ mythics, and have taken a casual and limited deck approach to playing with my friends. It makes seeing good uncommons much more fun.
Failed Opression Stories:
Legend of Korra
Return to Ravnica
(Not that the stories or character are inhernetly bad, but that they failed to further delve into the topic. Like Gateless/Non-Benders feeling opressed by the Guilds/Benders that sought a revolution but it became less of importance according to the story.)
I hope no one miss interpreted the rules here between these two cards:
Windreader Sphinx and Trained Condor is a non-bo
The sphinx will check for flying before the Condor's target gains flying... You'll never draw two cards from the Trained Condor and another attacking non-flyer.
.
You'll have to be heavily in red to play him, and just how many dragons do you expect to have when he enters bf? I don't see his ETB ability to be worth that much for 5 mana. I predict him dropping below $1 in the near future.
I hope you're right, mainly because I must have one for EDH and would rather pay less than more. Unless a bunch of playable dragons appear in Theros, $1 seems likely. It does get pretty good in multiples - the second one deals 2 damage twice - but alone 1 damage and a 4/4 flying firebreather for 2RRR doesn't seem quite worthy of Standard.
...Or I put them in my edh`s and try to kicker rite of replication on him to deal 36 dmg.
36 - 6 triggers for 6 - for each copy entering the battlefield assuming no other dragons on the field, for a total of 180 damage. Each Scourge of Valkas triggers for each copy entering.

How do you get to that 180?
Rite only makes five copies. So, 5 triggers dealing 6 each: 6+6+6+6+6=30 damage. This is assuming no other dragons.
Each Scourge of Valkas triggers for each Scourge of Valkas on the battlefield. You control at least 6 Dragons when Rite of Replication resolves. 5 of them enter the battlefield, each dealing 6 triggers of 6 damage.

It sounds like Master of Diversions from what I can read.

I still love Ral Zarek
He has the Master of Diversions on the left and a different card on the right, which is presumed to be Dawnstrike Paladin.
Mogis, God of Slaughter
Daxos of Meletis
Definitely some interesting cards... it'll be fun to see if they're played at all.

yeah i would buy

No, Mister Bond. I expect you to die.
6 x 6 = 36
36 x 5 = 180
You know, it helps if I RTFC. Oops. I concur.
