The new morphling is awesome and I agree is there to help win games more often and not have draws. Winning game one in 30 minutes can make a dicey game 2 after SB. Draws help no one. True control doesn't care if a creature costs 7-8 mana.
Armadillo cloak variants are always good to see and the other 2 cards are great for limited/casual.
I can see AEtherling being a 1-of in Standard control decks. It doesn't really DO much, but it is very resilient and great in combat.
Armadillo Cloak v2.0 will definitely be at least tried in many Standard decks. Remains to be seen whether there's too much instant speed removal being played to make it good.
Blast of Genius is a great design, but I really feel like it should cost 3UR.
That spell is about as good as any draw spell they'll print.
This is about the point when you go from not just being a bad card evaluator, but into being completely and utterly wrong about the state of the game.. I'm fairlysurethatthisnotthepeak when it comes to draw spells.
I know we like to talk about how control is dead and buried on this forum, but it's not completely. Also, draw spells aren't getting worse. They aren't necessarily getting better, but they aren't getting worse. This care isn't so much about the drawing, either, it's about the damage. The card draw is there to give you an increased range of options to discard for damage.
But yes, Aetherling is very good: with just :1mana::symu::symu: available every turn, it can hit for 5 every combat phase regardless of the opponent's board presence and dodge removal all day. Better yet, you can sweep the board while keeping your threat around, which is just perfect for control.
I suppose the only big downside of Aetherling, aside from having to get past countermagic, is that you need to have at least one extra available when you cast it, in order to give it a chance to survive until the next untap step.
See, that was my thought. 7 mana to play. I know alot of ppl are psyched for this card, but thats a big price for constructed. I just hope eyes arent bigger then stomachs.

Aetherling is very, very good. Practically unkillable, unblockable, vigilant creature that can swing for 8, and let's you wrath without dying. That is insane. Blue Baneslayer, but better. About the only thing it doesn't do is block flyers, or have lifegain/lifelink. Have your Pithing Needles ready.
Aetherling will see play. We already see people spending 5 mana for Thragtusk and seven mana for Angel of Serenity. Why not spend this mana for Aetherling. It has a very powerful effect. As far as the other spells, well Blast of Genius may be "ok" for limited, as direct damage isn't the easiest thing to come by in block limited. Let's face it, we paid 6 mana for Impact, why not 6 mana for another impact.

See post above. I do admit though, I love how in the art he's practicing his shapeshifter martial arts!

We already pay 7 for Angel with no protection for it. Why are people saying we need to necessarily hold up mana for him. It is not the easiest thing to kill this guy with his 5 butt against anything other than control. Then, if he survives a turn, he becomes rather brutal, considering he is unblockable.

Angel of Serenty and this card are quite different.
I think in the control mirror this card is superior but I've never liked AoS in mirrors - it's role is to seal the game down so you can race ahead with Revelations.

Nobody cares if you kill an angel or even a thragtusk, those cards are supposed to die, aetherling isn't.
A 40 dollar mythic rare would constitute a must have 4 of that goes in many decks.
Stats About Mythics
-Mythics are on average 40% rarer than pre-mythic rares
(old blocks about 200 rares, Mythic blocks 35+ mythics)
-They are printing more new cards a year not less
(about 665 now vs. 630 in most pre-mythic block)
-To drop the value of a rare by $1 a mythic must go up $2
-In a 3 year time span deck prices doubled. I am petitioning for the removal of mythic rarity. Sig this to join the cause.

Not sure I understand your point, but I am pretty sure that control can slow you down enough to get this into play. Then again, I could be wrong. It could be simply a sb inclusion against other control decks, who knows. We don't even know what the standard will look like exactly once this whole set is actually out. But believe me, I think this card will see a fair bit of play and probably be a decently priced card.
That new Armadillo Cloak has the worst artwork I've seen in 10+ years. It looks like a screenshot from a cutesy PS1 game and the flavor has nothing at all to do with the card. It's a couple of midget cavemen running from a dinosaur. That would, in fact, be the opposite of "unflinching courage," and last I checked, Ravnica was a highly sophisticated city plane, not a prehistoric plane with jungle, dinosaurs, and cavemen. I'm not normally one to complain about artwork, but when it's both crappy and completely unrelated to the card and block it's for, I notice.
I think it's a joke. Sometimes I think they try to have some fun with us.
AEtherling is pretty much only hampered by effectively being a T7 drop. So you have one mana open to Blink him. Meaning your opponent has to, at earliest, drop two destructions to kill him and only has the chance to do it on T7 (and still nets you a 2 for 1 exchange). He's an effective pressure card after that.

Not saying it wont, it's an amazing card, but my point is anything with access to black or green can easily nuke that "5 butt" if you dont have that mana open. Saying "only control can deal because his def is 5" is a tad bit ignorant.

I'm not sure why Blast of Genius is getting so much hate. It's only slightly overcosted when you consider WOTC's very consistent approach to card-drawing spells over the last few years:
For a 3-mana sorcery or a 4-mana instant, you get straight +1 card advantage.
4-mana sorceries never give more than +1 CA, but often have an additional effect not worth a full card. (Amass the Components, Foresee)
5-mana instants sometimes give +2 CA, (Jace's Ingenuity) but more often than not you still only get +1 CA with an effect that might be worth a full card. (Thoughtflare)
5-mana sorceries give +2 CA plus another effect not worth a full card, like Urban Evolution does.
Note that you NEVER get more than +1 CA for four mana, and NEVER get more than +2 CA for five. Concentrate and Tidings have been phased out for being too strong and replaced with obviously and clearly directly nerfed versions.
Blast of Genius gives +2 CA plus an effect that's probably worth a full card, so it's only slightly overcosted compared to the standard 6-mana sorcery rate, which is +3 CA.

This is a good way of thinking about it. This leads me to think that we now have a bomby limited-format draw spell that can really provide a major advantage over our opponent, all at uncommon. Makes Izzet more playable, for sure.
It'd have to at least be an instant to even get considered for constructed.

Generally pretty common for limited designs -- they cost too much to be able to run in constructed.
