You should've probably started with your point then instead of wasting time with expressing your 'completely serious' desire to see how set I design to some arbitrary constraints sell.
I actually wrote some arguments about why I think the set is bad - you address none of those and instead bring in good old 'each set has to cater to a wide variety of tastes' notion. Yes a set does have to appeal to multiple audiences, and it can do so without introducing unplayable champions and mythic that do not feel mythic, without going all-in on unrelated magic history homages and without disrupting gameplay by introducing pushed pro-colour creatures in a gold block - without being BAD.
Now try to add something to discussion (by addressing some points other make) instead of writing 'this is just your opinion' over and over again.
Well, had I just started with the point, you wouldn't have gotten it. I can tell, because you didn't get it even with me paving the path for you first.
Yes, you wrote arguments. I addressed them. The fact that I used words larger than one syllable each and you plainly could not read them does not detract from the fact that I put the effort in. You're clearly arguing from emotion and have no desire to analyse or involve logic, so I'm done.
Also, I've been adding to the discussion all over the place. In multiple threads. I can tell, because I'm racking up thanks like mad, and it's the first spoiler season I've actually been consistently active during. I'm getting more every day. You have...oh Hell, son. Not a one? Might be because you're the one who hasn't made a single constructive post since you got here. You're the one with the chip on your shoulder. You deal with it.
I hate how green is able to destroy more types of permaments, yet it's black that's represented more in the mana cost of the Gaze.
On the other hand, 1) that's relatively new. Used to be Green only killed artefacts and enchantments - and only all of them at once (Tranquility) - it took another eight or so years before it even got Naturalize, which was a huge, huge deal at the time. This was exacerbated by the fact that Green itself was one of the primary enchanting colours. The sole exception back in the day was Desert Twister, and some mono-G EDH decks still run that because it's hard to load up on proper critter removal in Green.
2) Green doesn't really mass destroy things. There's the aforementioned Tranquility, and a couple of similar cards for artefacts, but largely mass isn't their thing. We might some day see "Destroy all nonland, noncreature permanents" though. Actually I kind of expect that as an eventuality. Probably at 3GGG or something. Yeah, not as good as Planar Cleansing unless you're ahead on creatures, but then you're in Green. You should be ahead on creatures.
i love gaze of granite? but in modern, my Death Cloud is often X=3 or X=4... which also eats lands. a GoG for the same mana investment kills my own Lili and Garruk Wildspeaker, nuking all dat advantage. oh, and it kills my own chalice=1.
still think it's pretty neat. but it seems weird that something this potent doesn't automatically slide right into a BG rock deck. shrug.

An argument serves no purpose if any of the people you may be addressing don't understand the words. If you address a lay audience as a Chemist and use all jargon from the field, how many of them do you think will understand much of what you have said. Secondly, one's grammar does not prove whether or not they have a good argument. The number of Thank Yous really doesn't have anything to do with whether you have said something useful. Then, at the end you talk about him having a chip on his shoulder when you were the one that said "......I'm racking up thanks like mad....". Ironic that you point to him as having a chip on his shoulder. Anyway, people really should stick to the topic at hand. You don't agree with him, that's fine. We won't all agree. Let's just keep the discussion on the spoilers rather than on a discourse of the English language or figuring out which person can insult the other the best.
That, and you know what they say. If Wizards started shipping $100 bills in boosters tomorrow, people would scream and cry and whine that they were folded the wrong way.

I'm going to avoid addressing the irony inherent in you making an entirely off-topic post in order to chide me for making a post that was at least related to a post which was on-topic.
I'm not really that impressed with Gaze. It will have its place, but I don't run the decks where it works.
i'm fairly impressed actually, but i come from a Modern background. Turn 3 i'm more than happy to cast this for X = 0 against affinity if i have too. That cleans up mox, memnites and ornothopters. I would much rather cast it at X = 1 if i have the breathing room because that cleans up springleaf drum and signal pest in addition to the aforementioned items. and If you resolve this with X equaling anything over that number simply removes affinity from the game. It does this without actually having extremely specific applications and is considerably main deck worthy. Even a couple in the sideboard can easily be justifiably in more than the affinity match up.
Golgari really landed some nice gems this set... if only orzhov and dimir could have gotten some.
So they took crime/punishment and changed the fomatting to include planeswalkers and made it into two seperate cards with Obzedat's aid and Gaze of Granite(+B to cost).

Not really. Crime does not hit artifacts either. Also gaze has the very important word less... (It is a wrat effect there punishment is hard to get much out of)

If that's what you're using it for it's worse that necroplasm which can be recurred. I don't really like this card but mostly because it soooooooo could have been better.

i'm sure. ever since Pernicious Deed first rotated out of standard, i've waited for pretty much exactly this card.
would i play a BG rock deck with it now? not unless i can figure out a way that death cloud + planeswalkers isn't exponentially better. (and someone else would do that waaaaaaaaaay before i could).

i just love that it exists.
This doesn't really go into Death Cloud, because for that deck it is effectively symmetrical. It is better in decks where you can work it to be asymmetrical.

Pontiff of Blight4BB
Creature - Zombie Cleric (R)
Extort
Other creatures you control have extort. (If a creature has multiple instances of extort, each triggers separately.)

Interesting. Interesting stats.
While I think this might have looked better on, say, Teysa, I'm actually glad that this isn't on her and on this. Her being legendary, of course, means you can't have four of these, draining for 4 per spell for (W/B)(W/B)(W/B)(W/B).
Gleam of Battle4RW
Enchantment (U)
Whenever a creature you control attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on it.
Not very impressive win-more card.
Haunter of Nightveil3UB
Creature - Spirit (U)
Creatures your opponents control get -1/-0.
3/4
Maybe okay in Limited. Can't say its ability will make too much of an impact, as most creatures that are played at that point tend to be bigger than a 1/*, and what is 1 fewer damage per creature going to do?
Jelenn Sphinx3WU
Creature -Sphinx (U)
Flying, vigilance
Whenever Jelenn Sphinx attacks, other attacking creatures get +1/+1 until end of turn.
