this card would see legacy play, if it didnt cost 4 mana! Very few cards in legacy cost over 4 mana unless you cheat them into play or ramp fast.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they toyed with the idea of costing him at 1UB.

But at 4 mana this makes this immune to Abrupt Decay probably one of the most used removal in legacy. Having flash gives this card more versatility (flashing in response to JTMS brainstorm activation or probably brainstorm itself, Griselbrand draw 7, SDT, etc). Neutering Sylvan Library is also big since decks using these need the card draw. Good synergy with Vendillion Clique (you put card to bottom, I draw a card), and probably the most important use for it is FoW fodder in the early game. This can work probably as a 2 or 3 of, we'll just have to wait and see.
#1 - What's the dumbest idea you ever had?
#2 - 15/15 for 15?

#2 - It destroys everything when it attacks.... And wait, I have a friend who plays mill decks... I want to beat him too.
#1 - Excellent! Recess is over, go back and learn sex-ed with the other 6th graders.
Just to be clear, does this neuter brainstorm and grisseldaddy type effects?
This works for anything that specifically uses the word DRAW in the ability/spell. So it works for Brainstorm and Griselbrand, since both of those cards specifically say DRAW.

Four mana is an immense amount in Legacy and pretty much the only 4 mana cards that see any play win the game by themselves almost immediately. (JTMS, Sneak Attack) This is nowhere near powerful enough of a 4 mana effect to ever see play in Legacy.
Legacy is the format where the CONTROL decks play 22 lands, everyone else plays 18-20 lands, and Wasteland is ubiquitous. This is not even castable outside of a control deck.
Regarding Legacy play? I've seen one-to-two Sower of Temptation in players' 75s before. Same goes with Venser, Shaper Savant. I wouldn't be surprised to see this serve a similar role - a playable, albeit fringe-playable, sideboard card that sees one or two copies here or there in decklists.
Am I mistaken or can I just Stifle Consecrated Sphinx any time I consider it appropriate? Let's say someone wanted to deck me, I let him activate the ability until I draw 20 cards and then end it with Stifle.

To be fair, it's pretty good against Jace in the Stoneblade Mirrors where Forces get sided out. Oh, you want to 0 your Jace, thanks for the cards, put two of yours back instead, and I'll attack your Jace now. Probably not as good against the BUG decks since they have a lot more creature in general.
Well, I guess there was a thread yesterday complaining about how Dimir was unplayable or something. Many people spammed "Wait until the whole set is released", and there we go! That card is beautiful. Imagine this being played against things like Sphinx's Revelation and Griselbrand!
Boy, if cipher was a disappointment, this is a compensation.

If it had a 3 cmc or even a better toughness at 4 cmc I could say it has a chance at being a good card, but right now I dont think so.
Although it does look like a nice interaction with Bob so I could be wrong.
Edit: Actually its good against Revelation so maybe the card should be looked at more. First glace though it does not seem to smooth as a 4 drop.
This is a cool card, I can't wait to Rewind someone then this guy EoT. I guess not having evasion is a reason not go for the Whispering Madness synergy, but at least there's Artful Dodge and Predator's Gambit. It's a Human too, so Silver-inlaid dagger is an option. It would be cool to see Burning Inquiry in M14. Reforge the Soul is also neat; 14 cards is very much worth 5 mana, and it would need to be stopped at instant speed and after they may have spend their mana on something stupid
And that's just standard crap, kitchen table magic is the truth the light and the way

Yeah, and if JTMS cost 3 mana it would be better too. Just because a card costs 4 doesn't mean it's unplayable, just means it needs to be exceptional in order to be played. Not sure if this card is that good, but even if you just flash it in in response to the 0 ability on Jace and don't get to kill it, you got a card advantage of +4 (draw 3, minus 1 for the Thief, opponent puts 2 back) and still have a 3/1 body in play. That would be pretty huge in a Stoneblade mirror I think (cavaet that I've never played it, just going off theory).
Again, I don't know if it's enough, but that's pretty enticing, and I'm guessing at 3 mana it would be too good.
As someone pointed out to me earlier,
It's actually game-losing to have this in play when an opponent has Consecrated Sphinx.
The Sphinx will trigger in a loop until it decks you
except the sphinx ability uses the stack, and after say 10 cards drawn, when theyre sphinx ability goes on the stack again, you should have a removal spell that youve drawn to get rid of your sphinx, which on your draw step when the sphinx starts forcing you to draw, you should have all your mana untapped, if they counter, you should have another removal spell and they dont have another counter since youve been only one drawing cards
you can kill off the sphinx whenever you want after a certain number of cards drawn

With all the library manipulation in legacy getting the mana to play this is not even that hard, I even see some players hard casting FoW in the mid game. With flash this seems more viable since you can just cast this in response to any card draw or cast this EOT of opponent then attack for 3. Responding to brainstorms and JTMS, forces your opponent to cast removal or counter then tht's one or two cards down for the opponent, but if it sticks long enough your opponent is in a whole lot of trouble.
It's good, but we'll just have to wait and see, this is all just speculation and looks pretty good on paper but until we play it we won't know for sure if its worth playing.

Yeah, its a good anti Jace card, but it cal also be good on its own, having only 1 toughness truly hurts it a lot, but the 3 power can't be ignored.

You can Stifle one of the triggers, however, since each trigger creates two more triggers, there's actually a pile of unresolved triggers below the most recent one. So unless your opponent is intentionally passing on draws to maintain there only being one trigger on the stack, you'll need 11 Stifle's or so once you've drawn 20 cards. Your best answer is probably killing either the Sphinx or your Thief.

I agree it's good on it's own, but if you're talking about Legacy, you do have to worry about getting to 4 mana. Responding to a Brainstorm against RUG or BUG would be sweet, but they both play a full set of Wastelands, so it might be tough. Worth testing to see.
Also, just thought of this, Sylvan Library sees a little play. The more I think about this, the more I think it very well could see some Legacy play, but I would want to test it.
I like the card... still I think it should have costed 3 mana, so we could be able to play it at the end of your opponent's turn, followed by a turn fourWhispering Madness, that's why they added the flash on it.
This is the kind of freshness that Dimir needed, not the old mill effects.
So, this card's effects do stack, right? so if they killed it, you still draw the cards from a Sphinx's Revelation , no? because if it doesn't stack, how could you draw more than one card by an Sphinx's Revelation ?
English is not my native language, hope my question is understandable.

I do not believe it stacks. This is a replacement effect as opposed to a trigger, so it has to be in play for the effect to happen. Someone better with rules could correct me, but I'm pretty sure this is how and why it needs to be in play.
It's a good thing that Voice of Resurgence made control unplayable and killed control forever and all they ever do is nerf control. This is such a great aggro creature.
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
