In Beta Client's account settings,
set your billing address country to USA,
and then you are able to get your promo, no matter wherever you live.
I dont live in the US. Can they find out if you use a fake address?
I live in Germany an we pay 19% taxes so it would also be a lot cheaper. Is there a risk that they find out and ban my account?
Everyone who is eligible to redeem, be careful when you cut and paste the code, mine added an extra space at the end so it said it was invalid, then I noticed the space so I deleted that and it worked. It has to be exactly as posted on the mothership!
my point is, why is wizards not giving any reason. Such a company should not get away with bad communication.
They make everyone excited with this, then on the bottom, small letters: "oh, US only" and not a single reason why.
Efficiency and communication. They pay people for that...
Honestly, I think the bad publication now will cost them more now. (I hope so).
What? The reason why is "The Law." Blame your country, not Wizards. It's the same thing that says the residents of a number of states are legally excluded from winning giveaways.
Is anyone else having a problem with this? I keep getting a "your account is not eligible for this promotion" even though I'm in the US and have all of my "is eligible for..." things checked.
You're probably in a state that doesn't allow this.

No they are pretty similar. In some aspects EU copyright is even more restrictive and protective than US copyright - e.g we don't have a generally applicable Fair Use clause.
There are no such laws regarding copyright in Europe. The latter only affects trademarks.
Also they also give away physical promo cards, i don't see the difference to digital product.

This. It's something any competent tech company would have done ages ago. The year is 2013, applications should not be defined in terms of singular operating systems anymore; the quickly changing OS scene should make Wizards to make their software more platform-independent, and accessibility is a HUGE issue for those who want to take their game to the next level, but don't have a WINDOWS (TM) machine.
Obligatory "the league of legends (read: most played MMO in the world) client just got a mac beta last month, and it is years old." A huge number of large games are plagued by client issues.
I guess OP wants it to be 'keyworded' like "dies" was. What word would you replace ETB with though?
When Aegis Angel is born?
When Huntmaster of the Fells arrives?
When Kitchen Sphinx lands?
When Faerie Imposter busts in?
When Dread Cacodemon pops in?
When Malfegor shows up?
I live in the US, and even I can't get the promo. It keeps telling me that my code is invalid. Any ideas?
The picture on this page shows the code as "MTGOCodeLaunch2013", but that gives the invalid code message. The actual code is written bellow that as "MTGOCodeLaunch" (without quotation marks). If it still doesn't work, make sure you have a US address entered on your account settings page for your billing address and check that the first two sections on the account policy agreements are checked yes.

Pretty sure the code is case sensitive. May be your problem.
