I'm rarely happy about FNM promos but this is a really good choice. One of the most important cards in Standard, practically format-defining. A 4-of in many decks, and I even find it fringe Modern playable.
But the biggest reason I like this choice is that the original art is so ugly, good to have a replacement.
If I change Pilgrims and Farseeks to FNM Promos all cards in my deck except of two Forest will have gold/orange symbols of them. Lol. This is my goal for March
If that's your goal then get yourself some Forests with a gold symbol, for example Arena promos like this one:

I love me some Michael Komarck. I am not a competitive player and haven't played an FNM, well, ever, but I will have to next month. March is my birthday. Happy birthday to me!
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
excellent choice, I like the art as well. I really wish they'd get rid of that god awful gold stamp and use a small black "fnm" symbol or make a symbol for FNM and use that.

I just won this tonight. It looks amazing in person. Beautiful filagree on the staff and soaring vista with the contrast of near and far. I traded it to a very jealous opponent (whose deck ran farseek) I just beat for two boros charms.
Honestly, this card will be worth more than those two because people are going to be farseeking shocks for a long time in modern.
